The Celtics/T-Wolves deal is continuing to gain steam, and I am actually for it now
Other possible targets for the Celtics...AK47, Corey Maggette, Captain Ron Artest

I see where you are coming from by saying they shouldn't ruin a good thing. The way the team is now, holds loads of potential and if things stay they way they are, I can see them getting even deeper into the palyoffs if they keep getting better like they have shown through the past few years. I already said how I felt about Kobe, so I don't see any reason to restate myself. I just see Kobe as a HF'er and feel that any chance the Bulls would have to get him, they should. I'm not looking just to pick apart your posts here, because I've agreed with you on other things in the past, but since I feel so strongly against trading for Kobe in this situation... I just don't understand where you're coming from. From what I can make out, you're saying you'd sacrifice anyone but Wallace, who is potentially the worst investment the Bulls have made in years. So I won't include Wallace on this list, who is someone I would trade. But why would you want to trade away a 22-year-old Luol Deng who completely came into his own in the playoffs last year and is a total mismatch at 6'9 (still growing, might I add) for most SGs/SFs, a SG who lead your team is scoring the past 3 years and has a boatload of heart, probably much more than Kobe Bryant does at this point in his career (Ben Gordon, if you didn't realize who I was mentioning), and Tyrus Thomas who is some muscle and playing time away from potentially putting up a double double per night in about a year? Not to mention, of course it would cost us our #9 pick as well, which is actually worth something in this year's deep draft. All for Kobe Bryant, who essentially plays the same positions and does the same things (yes, much better as the stats would show, but he played in a different offense in LA) as Deng & Gordon is older, whines, has had a bad attitude for the past few years, and I guarantee will NOT mix will Scott Skiles very well the first time something goes wrong in paradise. Not that this trade would ever go down, because salaries without Ben Wallace wouldn't add up... but I'm just trying to figure out why? You're a smart guy usually... but "Kobe Bryant is going to be a HOFer" doesn't seem like a good reason to break up a 5-deep team with a nice bench for a me-first player, when you're about one low-post scorer away from being championship contenders. I guess you do make valid points, and like I said earlier, I feel that if this team is to stay the way it is, it will win its championship eventually. But, how many players on the Bulls have a ring? 1. That's the thing. Maybe the Bulls need some experience on their side. You could say a guy like PJ brings that to the team, but he is aging and I wouldn't be surprised if we already saw his last year. Yeah taking Kobe may be a risk, but what isn't? You never know what could happen. Even if you sign a player who will guarantee success could still get injured or something of that nature, so really anything can be a risk.

Hawks need to trade our 8 power forwards for KG. Then Minnesota will be the new Hawks, but then again I've never met a real die hard Minnesota fan so I wonder if anyone would care.

The Bulls are going to run into the same risk the Celtics are in now, if their young players do not develop as fast as they want, they have 0 cap room and they need to make a deal. Deng/Gordon/Hinrich is a good 3-some but Nocioni is an RFA, Thomas is a meathead, who could turn into a star, but also could turn into Pervis Ellison.
There is a reason the Bulls are trying so hard to get a Gasol/Kobe/Pierce, because they think they need one of them to win a title

The team did pretty darn well without a superstar. They just need someone to take them over the hump, and really pull the young team together. But that could just as well come from one of their existing players.

Or they can continue to be first-second round fodder and eventually hafta make a move that deals away 2-3 kids, so its best they do it now.

The Celtics/T-Wolves deal is continuing to gain steam, and I am actually for it now Other possible targets for the Celtics...AK47, Corey Maggette, Captain Ron Artest Nothing's been put together yet, so don't get too excited at the prospect of KG in Boston. Kevin McHale himself said that talks regarding KG happen just about every year, but nothing ever comes out of those talks. However, I believe this year is as close as McHale has ever come to discussing a KG deal, so it's very well possible that a trade involving Al Jeff and the number 5 pick with others included could entice KM to make it happen. As for the other guys you mentioned, -AK isn't going anywhere; his contract is too large for most teams and Coach Sloan said just this week that he doesn't like trading guys away and that they want to keep AK in Utah, for next season at least. -Maggette is the most likely to be traded away, possibly in an effort for the Clippers to move up in the draft, or like the scenario I posted a while back sending him to Phoenix for future draft picks. -With newly-hired coach Reggie Theus speaking to both Bibby and Artest over the phone, I think both have a renewed confidence in the direction of the team under Theus, so I would imagine both would like staying in Sac-town for another season. However, if a can't-miss trade opportunity finds its way to Sacramento, I don't think anyone there would hesitate moving Bibby and especially Artest's contract. Last I heard, Artest was rumored to be interested in Miami, with the team feeling likewise.
