I can honestly say I'm a big Jacques Rougeau fan. The guy was gold in the Fabulous Rougeaus along with his brother, The Mountie gimmick and like you talked about the Quebecers. Just entertaining all around.
I've recently purchased a Big Boss Man MOC vintage Hasbro figure circa 91 that's coming in the mail tomorrow. Now my goal is to get a Mountie figure. Whether it be the classic Habro or the Jakks version.
Yeah the guy was solid. Such a great undercard all round in the late eighties/early nineties. I agree with you that the Mounties first theme is better than his second but All-American Boys blows both themes out of the water!! I'm proud to say this theme is on my Ipod!

Really liked the Mountie, as of now, its one of my top wants from Mattel. I think the pinnacle for him was the feud with the Big Boss Man. Summer slam 1991 was just great, both the match and jailhouse stuff. I really would have loved to have seen an ending to the Hitman feud, it got off to a great start with the Mountie shocking him on superstars. And the Survivor Series match where every time the Hitman would tag in the Mountie would run out of the ring and tag someone else in. Never knew that the reason Bret lost the IC belt was because of a contract dispute. As for the figure, you have to get the Hasbro one to go with the Boss Man one. A great figure, no doubt.

Yeah at the time there was rumors of Bret going to WCW and if I remember correctly they had talks but in the end he stayed with Vince. And definitely gotta see if I can get a vintage Mountie Hasbro fig

I liked him during his heel run with Raymond as a team. But I thought the Mountie shtick was a bit cartoony for some reason. Which makes even less sense when I admit that I was quite the fan of the Quebecers with Pierre. I guess all the difference was in him using his real name in that team as opposed to the kind of generic "The Mountie" previously. Lol. No matter the gimmick though, Jaques was a solid hand in the ring and quite the entertainer.

On Max Moon? That must've been a severe falling out with Vince. Konnan and Shane Douglas were part of the Radicalz group that wanted to jump ship.... But Vince didn't want either of them... Just the 4 that landed.
On the Mountie? Loved him... Was a great heel all through his run in The Quebecers too. I hated his Hasbro figure.... Just ended up using him as the manager of my Evil foreigners faction. He was supposed to have a feud with face Sgt Slaughter too I read but it got nixed 🤔

I remember Mountie shocking em with his ''upgraded shock stick'' during a Sarge/Flair match but other than that and a few promos the feud never had a true ending.

The upgraded shock stick didn't last long all thanks to Jack ''on the take Tunney''

The Mountie was a great heel. But my favorite part of his gimmick was when his theme music would start, Bobby Heenan would whistle the first few bars of it & shout "Everybody!" and he'd sing along with it. Of course, Monsoon would tell him to keep quiet.

If you want suggestions I have a few- 911, Outback Jack, Any of Ed Leslie's gimmicks from wcw, and Flash Funk.
I didn't think Max Moon was great, but didn't hate the gimmick either. I do like Paul Diamond. I loved the Mountie gimmick. As a kid I liked the good guys and hated the bad guys in general, but I was a big Mountie mark as a kid. I regret passing on meeting Jacques Rougeau at a wrestling con two years ago and he was even in Mountie gimmick! If he's at wrestlecon, I'm meeting him for sure!
BTW Max Moon as an action figure is an awesome idea!

I'll keep your suggestions in mind but for this thread I'm going with my own flow.

The Mountie was a silly gimmick, but Jacques Rougeau made it work and did it so well, the real RCMP hated it.

first off, everyone should have the rougeaus theme on their ipod. in fact, i think that theme should just be played on a loop all day long on a universal loud speaker, so we can all enjoy it 24 hours out of the day.
around the time vince brought in konnan to be max moon, konnan was absolutely HUGE in mexico. like, he was the mexican hulk hogan, just about. and you stick him with this gimmick? of course, konnans rising stature in mexico was what led to him bailing on max moon and his deal with vince anyway. and vince was supposedly in pretty heavy on that gimmick, which is why, as joker mentioned, vince had no interest in bringing him back when benoit, malenko, eddy and saturn jumped.
didnt mean to hijack the mountie talk, continue gentlemen. in fact, ill make a quick addition to the mountie conversation... the vignettes of him in jail after losing to bossman at summerslam 91 were absolute gold.

I looked into this and the Mounties do license out their name and look but you do have to pay them for that right. I guess Mattel doesn't want to pay the royalties, maybe Jakks did.

I was always confused as a kid about why the Quebecers weren't called the Mounties...I remember when we used to be talking WWF I often made the mistake of calling them the Mounties...LOL.
On a side note? I thought the Quebecers were a great tag team...Id love to have some figures of them.
