Joba the hutt is coming soon... AAA Scranton-Wilkes Barre moved him to the pen after a dominant start. Pack your ing bags farnsworth... Maybe I'm in the minority here... probably.. but why move him to the pen? Why do they take arguably their #1 prospect (with Hughes and Clippard graduating so to speak), one of the top-10 starting pitching prospects in the minors period, and convert him into a reliever midseason... when you're 9 games out behind a scorching Boston team, just lost 3 straight, and pretty much have been up and down all year long? I just don't see the good that can come in this... I'm a firm believer in not rushing prospects most of the time, let alone moving them to the bullpen when they're extended and only 21 years old, especially when the team doing this is nearly 10 games out of the race when it's almost August 1st, and just lost 3 straight. He has the potential to be a filthy starter in time... why rush him? I dunno... I'm open to anything that prevents Kyle Farnsworth from pitching in another 8th inning with the Yankees. And I wouldn't "lol" at David Eckstein. Sure, he is not the guy I'd ideally like at short on my team, especially in an american league lineup, but when you look at who is at short for the Red Sox now- Lugo, batting .225... and look at their leadoff situation all season, which has been pretty much a mess...(Lugo, Drew, Crisp- who would probably be the best option out of what they have), Eckstein would probably be an upgrade over Lugo. He is a decent average hitter, and despite numbers that won't blow you away, he is a very tough out at the plate. He's also been a two time world series champion, and the MVP of one of those series. If I was replacing someone good with Eckstein, i'd laugh... but I'd be more apt to laugh at Julio Lugo right now, who has been arguably the worst free agent signing next to Kei Igawa.

I am going to 100% disagree with WOJC, David Eckstein flat out sucks this year and the only positive thing about him is that he is a FA, but he wont be a starter so you will still be stuck with Lugo
Eckstein has been hurt too, he would be to replace Cora, and hes better than Cora but I'd still rather have Lugo who has more power and can steal.

I'd rather have a .296 hitter over a .225 hitter regardless of the power numbers. .225 is simply an unacceptable Major League batting average... If you're gonna hit .245 and give me 45+ homers, and 100+ RBI, I'll take you... but under no circumstances do I ever want a .220 hitter on my team. Julio Lugo flat out sucks this season...It will be an all new shortstop in Boston in 2008. With this type of "production" you were better off keeping Alex Gonzalez...

I see the point of moving Chamberlain to the bullpen because everyone outside of Vizcaino over the last month/2 months has blown the whole season. But I highgly disagree with the move if they keep him in the bullpen after this season. If its anything more then just to get a taste of the big leagues, and set-up until we get a real set-up man, I will be highly angry. From the reports i've seen he has a chance to be a top of the rotation starter, so I dont see why we should put that potential in the bullpen for anytime longer than just this season. Who knows, if he does good, he can take Clemens' place in the rotation next year.

Yah they wont keep him in the bullpen in 2008, he will go back to AAA unless theres a spot in the rotation opened up.
Lugo isnt going anywhere hes signed for 3 more years, Lugo has not been our problem its that whore in RF thats the problem.

The Red Sox could have avoided all of this bullcrap if they had just kept Orlando Cabrera. But instead they decided they would rather dismantle a World Series Championship team. They have a new shortstop and 2nd basemen every year since 2004, it's stupid.

i've heard that cabrerra must've done something to piss off the management, because i can't think of any other reason why we didn't resign him.

I agree with Lorenzo, by keeping Cabrera would have solved all this. Or told Renteria to suck it up and let him get used to Boston, look at him now.
The Red Sox will have the same 2B for the next 10 years now, so that spot is all set

remember when asia was like "jason jennings is one of the better pitchers in the nl"? Because i can tell the future? I was going on what he had done at the time and i didn't expect him to be the second coming of Cy Young but not a horrendous pitcher. Alot of guys on the Astros are having bad years, this is something i can't predict. Lance Berkman being terrible for 2 months and having a slow season was another thing i couldn't predict, "omfgz u sed burkmen waz gud" remember when asia was like "jason jennings is one of the better pitchers in the nl"? also woody williams. see above and bye bye Ensberg

Hughes in AAA. 6.2 IP, 3 H, 3 BB, 4 K, 91 pitches, 51 strikes.
Should be back the next time the Yankees need a 5th starter. Looks like they've turned Ross Ohlendorf into a reliever now too. Doesnt matter, he sucks balls either way. Edwar Ramirez continues to own the world in the minors. 85 K's in 46 IP. Too bad Torre used him once every 3 weeks. He didnt get a far chance in the majors.
