Messier? NYR? The HoF game this year looks incredible! That's one game I'm stoked for.
No Minnesota/Toronto games this year. Bah. They usually have a pretty good match-up. Last year's on Boxing Day was the best game of the year that I saw.

So, I was doing some research on the new NHL jerseys and I found out that the new jerseys are going to cost $300 for authentics and $150 for replicas. And that's without any numbers/ names on the back...just a blank jersey.

Yashin is saying he's going to Russia if "contract offers don't improve". He's not getting paid what he wants to be paid, despite just getting a huge payday from his buyout. The dude clearly has made it obvious that he is all about the money. He  ing sucks now too. |

It wouldn't be offseason without daily Leaf rumours..
Rumour that (okay, and Eklund rumour, but still..) that the Leafs are interested in Hejduk. That interested me, but at the expense of Cola? Eh.. I dunno. I love Cola..
Maybe Stajan and another couple of young defensemen. But not Cola.

If I'm an Edmonton Oilers fan, I'm bummed right now. The D is scary thin, with Souray and Tarnstrom on the back end now, both guys very notorious for having not much of a defensive game, Roloson is out of gas, Lupul is gone, and you've got a crazy man for a GM.

Christ, I know Edmonton wanting a puck moving defensemen.. but did they need 3?
Souray? Tarnstrom? Pitkanen?
Can any of Edmonton's defence actually play.. defence?
I think getting Souray was totally unnecessary for the Oil. Actually, getting Tarnstrom back was unnecessary as well.

I was scared the Rangers were going to sign Souray. I much rather prefer Mara or Pock over Souray because they're both great point guys on the PP, but can play defense, too.

If Souray doesn't register at least 50 points, he's a complete hack. I mean he's a complete defensive liability. He will also no longer have Andrei Markov on his other side, so that could show decrease in production.

The same thing that happened to McCabe will happen to Souray.
He had his breakout last-year-of-his-contract season, then he gets paid the big bucks, then he'll have a respectable season, but it will still be looked upon as a bust based on his production in the previous season.
That's my prediction, anyway.

ing awesome. I was hoping for a modernized Sharks logo. I just hope the orange isn't incorporated into the jersey design. It would look pretty nasty having teal and orange stripes. bleh. But judging by the logo, there's no more grey. So it might end up being teal/orange.. |
