That was awesome... I have gained so much respect for A-Rod. Why did mcdonald fall for it? Thats his ball... I play recreactional hockey, and opposing players call for passes from the opposite team all the time, and at that level, players are seldom dumb enough to fall for it.
Its probably an unwritten rule, but you know what... when your team needs to win ballgames, you take em as you can get em.

Posada popped up with 2 outs in the 9th and runners on base and as McDonald was about to catch the popup, A-Rod apparently called him off as he was rounding the bases.
My question is this: it's not like it was a difficult popup or anything. McDonald had a clean view of it the entire time. Why would he have let anyone call him off, even if he did think it was one of his own teammates calling for it?
