But I love LOVE LOVE the Max Moon. I don't think I have ever seen anyone do a Max Moon before, and if they have it wasn't memorable.



FamousJ and Jay are obviously keeping this board alive. I wish they would post here more often. It might actually inspire my ass to actually make something.


It is very close but I will have to give it to FamousJ. I mean just look at that f***ing thing. I can't tell at all whether he painted the skulls or used decals but if he did use decals this is the one exception to using them. When everything else on the custom is so superb that you can't tell whether the logos were hand-painted or printed out. Very good Mortis. 2nd favorite one ever right behind Stingrays.

Nick Maniwa vs Dr. Angus

Angus, I know this is a proto because there was some sort of mishap with your camera or computer or something, so I think you know you weren't going to win this. Nick's is cleaner, though the pictures aren't the best to see the whole figure, tsk tsk. The hair is a little flat too. Angus, Cannon needs to be fatter.

Storm is really clean, and smooth, which can be hard with red. The head looks a little small on the body though. Deen, the torso break here is really hurting the figure, it is distracting. Also, the skintone does not look smoothly painted and the sealer is super shiny. However, the color of the skintone is *pretty* good.

Well well, looks like you guys split these, IMO. Gatecity - Corino looks really good. Like all of your work, very clean, logos look good and the head is pretty good. The writing on the back could be better, but I appreciate the hand painting. The Owen is pretty good looking. The printouts look ok, the skintone is really nice and the painting is good. These were close, but I went with TCKDEEN because there was more work .

whydraft2 vs ROZZ
Man whydraft2, I feel bad for you. The Mortis is really nice. Sculpting, accessories, everything is awesome. Unfortunately, famousj did an amazing Mortis, and ROZZ turned in this awesome custom. So yours gets a little looked over. But kudos nonetheless. The Max Moon is really cool. Painting, sculpting, just really great. Everything is smooth and the colors look great. Painting with flourescents is NOT easy, so nice job.

Bartman vs Jay
Well I didn't want to vote on this one because there's only one picture each, which isn't great to judge by. Especially Jay's pic. However, I choose Jay because of the accessorizing and the hair and face look pretty good from this angle. Bartman's painting and skintone is really nice, but I don't like the hair.

Goreinator vs HR2X
Thanks guys, this was a great match. The weird head choices cancel out. I will disregard. Gore gets my vote because of the amount of scuplting he did on the shorts and shirt. I know HR2X did a massive amount also, and the shorts are pretty genious, but Gore's sculpting is just smoother and looks more natural. Painting is good on both, Gore's tats look nice. HR2X has a nice skintone, but the shirt looks like it could be crisper.

FamousJ vs Jay
FamousJ, you use decals like a freakin pro. Good attention to detail, sculpting on the mask is top notch, and of course the painting is smoooooth. Jay, I really like this. The body sculpting, as has been stated, is pretty heavy. However, you have your own style, and I dig it. Still, it just looks a little rougher, so the vote goes to famousj.

Mmk, let's see about this:

Nick Maniwa: Not digging the Arik Cannon for some reason. The torso is pretty good, and the tat looks OK, but everything else seems sloppy, and the head doesn't do it for me. The head on Chuck Taylor is dead on, and the tights look amazing. Great choice of parts too.

Gatecitysinner: This Storm looks about perfect. Painting is smooth, head fits perfectly, it looks amazing. Not feeling the Christian, the torso is kind of awkward looking on RA legs, not to mention is being kind of messed up on the side. And the painting seems kind of... weird.

GCS again: Once again, far superior painting to the point of looking factory produced gives him the edge, plus Owen Hart (especially this recipe) is a custom seen far too many times, and has been executed better at that.

ROZZ: This one was pretty close for me, both of these figures came out very well. Painting and sculpting on both are very smooth and pretty looking, and the only reason ROZZ got the edge in the end is that FamousJ's Mortis kind of ruined me on any other Mortis I've ever seen. Sweet cane though.

Bartman: Two very solid Steiner customs. I didn't really like the head on either, and the choice of parts when it comes to Steiner is pretty cut and dry, so this basically came down to painting for me. I felt Jay's was a bit sloppy, while Bartman's looked immaculate.

Goreinator: Two excellent customs. Not really digging the Edge scan for Richards, and the skintone is kinda iffy. Great sculpting on both. Love the hair especially on Raven, and the tats. Necklace looks great too. Taking nothing away from Stevie though, because I love the sculpting of the ripped jeans. Great matchup here.

FamousJ: Most amazing Mortis I've ever seen. Head looks great, sculpting and painting are smoother than a baby's ass, and I love the legs. The Muta is pretty great in it's own right, but I was completely blown away by FamousJ's effort here.

GateCitySinner vs. TCKDEEN- Anything Goes
I give this one to GateCity hands down. Storm is smooth, the head modding works perfect (I know how it is with TTL heads and RA bodies). The painting is perfect and it's a bit easy but it totally works for Storm. DEEN's Christian isn't bad but the torso being all weird really takes away from the figure. Mixing parts makes it look totally weird, to me.

GateCitySinner vs. TCKDEEN- Canadians
I'm gonna have to side with GateCity. Deen's seems a bit too customized, if that makes sense. I really hate the Kidman head for Owen since other ones work way better. Corino looks good. The design on the front was done freehand which is amazing. The boots look good. The COLBY on the wrist tape is a nice touch as well. The head works to an extent but with a different head this would be amazing.

Whydraft2 vs. ROZZ
I'm going with ROZZ on this one. Whydraft's Mortis is amazing though. I really enjoy it and against anyone else, it would've bene a winner for sure. The cape and cane look amazing plus all the modding on the figure. I give it to Rozz because it's way smoother and just looks like a finished figure, almost JAKKS like, in my opinion. More pics would be very useful though. All the colors are vibrant and just pop off the page. Sculpting seems even too.

Bartman vs. Jay
I'm going with Jay on this one. The hair modding looks great. The stubble looks really good. The added jacket really helps the figure. I enjoy the singlet painting too. The DA kneepads really work. The skintone on Bartman's Steiner looks a bit weird to me. The singlet painting is amazing but the skintone and hairpiece really throws the figure off for me. The head needs to be sanded down a bit more.

Gore vs. HR2X
I'm going with Gore's Raven on this one. It looks smoother and the jeans modding looks really well. I believe that's a Cena head on him which works for the stip. The tats are painted smooth. I wish there was a shirt logo but if you can't get a clear pic, I'd rather it be plain then a crappy looking logo. I like the Stevie but the head still looks too much like Edge for me. All the BWO logos I remember were like bWo instead of the capital letters. The daisy dukes look good but the shirt seems off to me somehow. It doesn't flow well, in my opinion.

FamousJ vs. Jay
There's already a Mortis in the competition but I think this one is incredible. Thus I give this one to Famous J. All the painting and logos (or decals) are smooth. The mask modding looks amazing. If you would've had the added accessories, it would've made the figure that much better. Jay's Muta is great but the skintone or sculpting is a little bumpy. The head looks great and I'd love to see another Muta with not as much sculpting cos you captured the head perfectly. The attire seems a bit sloppy but it could be how his pants are.

I give props to everyone that participated and I can't wait for the next PPV.

I really like Angus' work to the head, the mohawk is very well done, however the red on the pants need a few more coats and you can still see some green. Nick's is really good, the tights are great. Even though he used decals(which I am against) they are still very good and I think that's what puts it over the top for me.

That Mortis is excellent, I think that what Becca said is right, the fact that FamousJ also made one takes the focus away from yours. Everything looks wonderful. ROZZ's Max Moon is simply fantastic, I've never seen a Mac Moon before and I was afraid that when I finally did see one it wouldn't be good, but this one is awesome. The painting is phenomenal, and so is the sculpting. He wore such a difficult outfit and you nailed it.

The fact that you guys didn't use the real headscans speaks volumes, you both picked great heads. I love Stevie's shorts and I love how you used CW arms to make him look smaller. Raven is just so amazing, the tattoos are so well done. His shorts are great considering you had to mix RA and DA parts and blended them perfectly. The lack of a shirt design loses a few points, but the degree of difficulty in the tattoos makes up for it.

FamousJ vs Jay
I wish Jay would give us straight on pictures so we can see them from head to toe. The mask is wonderful, and I love the fact you put some green on his fingertips, it adds so much. The chest modifications are great too. That Mortis is just so great. The work you did on the mask is the best I've ever seen. I'm still not sure if you use decals or not, which I guess is good. The skintone is amazing as is your attention to detail. I think that in any other match the Muta would have won but he went up against a powerhouse here.
