Do we seriously get that much Affleck? I don't BS when it comes to movies, my friend. I believe it's either 12, or 14...I'm fairly sure it's the latter. He's said that he wanted to take it, because it will allow him to still Direct once in a while, but it gives him a character that his kids can enjoy. He's become a big family man, which is what played into him taking the role. But it's consistent. WB/DC are finally wanting to invest in the DCU, and obviously Batman is their go-to character to bank on it, which -- is smart. Those appearances include cameos, etc too though, like Jackson's Nick Fury. Take into account BvS, and JL following as 2 already...Affleck has already said he's interested in Directing stand-alone Bat flicks...figure 3-4 of those, and of course a JL2/3...he's more than half way home in the next decade, without a single cameo taken into account, as it is. But the cameos are easy, enough. Hell, I want nothing more than to Direct Aquaman...and even my idea has him in a cameo. It's pretty damn easy to rack up that many appearances... I have no doubt it's easy to use up appearances, but damn, that makes me happy to hear. Somebody consistently in the cape and cowl is something we need. Plus, we know Ben is a HUGE Batman fan. For Christ's sake, he built an entrance to a Batcave in his house.

His friendship with Kevin Smith alone would have convinced me that he had a good shot at being a quality Batman... But Affleck himself is a big fan. That's always a good thing. Say what anyone will about DD (I found a lot of it enjoyable, personally)...HIS performance is something I can't really find fault in for the movie not being the best it could be. I always thought he was a decent Murdock/DD...working off a pretty rough script. But now with Goyer (who is damn good at action, regardless what people say about his dialog) AND the Argo writer (who's clearly great at dialog) writing the script...and a stellar cast surrounding him...I can't wait.

To be honest the one thing I'm looking forward to hearing is what voice he'll use to distinguish Bruce and Bats. Nobodies come close to what Conroy has done with that yet.

I think Conroy's delivery was such a subtle change, that Affleck could really be the first to get it right. When I was a kid, I always just thought that Batman sounded like a pissed off Bruce Wayne -- the trick was -- you never hear Bruce get pissed outside the Batcave. The key isn't the voice, it's the personality. I've always felt that Bruce and Bats are two separate roles...and that Val Kilmer has been the closest to getting BOTH right... (Keaton the best Batman, Bale the best Bruce, at least in the first two flicks) I think Affleck can handle the subtle differences that separate the character, without coming off hokey (Bale's Batman) or -- metrosexual. (Clooney's Bruce)

As long as he watches lots of Kevin Conroy and very little WHERE'S THE THE TRIGGERRRRGRAHHHHH Batman, he'll be good.
And within my opinion, the less said of Keaton/Clooney the better. Hated both of them.

There is a zero percent chance Affleck signed up for a 12 or 14 movie deal. Zero. The only website that was reporting such a ludicrous number was Cosmic Book News: movies.cosmicbooknews.com/content/exclusive-bryan-cranston-lex-luthor-batman-superman-matt-damon-aquaman-mark-strong-sinestroAnd that website is a complete joke... they're traffic whores who will report anything they can to get hits and credit their "sources" despite the fact that they've never broken a single story in the history of the website. I think, at most, Affleck has a four-picture deal with WB to play Batman (BvS, JLA, and two solo movies). I wish it was more, but he is too busy and too dedicated an individual film maker (as a writer, director, producer and star of most of his own projects) to sign a deal like that. I hope he comes out tomorrow and announces that he's making five solo Bat movies, but there's no way.

FIVE MINUTES OF GREATNESS! I was just coming to post this. I am...beyond excited for this. What I really can't wait for though is the inevitable team up with Flash and Arrow.

I misquoted, or read something inaccurate. My mistake. It still wouldn't shock me to hear 5-8, though. Not at all. That would take him into his 50s, and not require any cameos.

I have to say that this is my favorite Batman suit since Batman 89. I loved Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. I loathed Dark Knight Rises. By the time that movie ended, I was more than ready to move onto something different. I'm excited to see a Batman suit that looks a tad less rubbery.

FIVE MINUTES OF GREATNESS! Yup.......looks great. DCs approach to their universe building is strange to me though.....they are gonna have Flash on the TV and in the movies.... All they need to do to combine the TV verse of Arrow(which has done an AMAZING job at world building) with the MOS world is have Felicity show Ollie news about what happened in Metropolis......it could have been at the end of this season. Just show Ollie,Diggle & Felicity STUNNED as they look on at the news.

However, they haven't really needed to. Just drop a hint of "Why are you jumping around on rooftops like that "demon ninja" in Gotham?", and make it out like he's a myth with no real confirmed sightings because Batman's JUST THAT GOOD. Then do the reference to Superman in Metropolis like you said and be done with it. Tie them all together for JL film and be done with it.

They have already missed a golden opportunity with a bat related tie in.....but have they even mentioned Gotham? I know they mentioned Bludhaven but I cant recall hearing Gotham....
But Detective Lance could easily have mentioned Gotham's vigilante hassle several times

That's what's causing a dispute. They definitely should have referenced it by now. The best thing to do is just start mentioning it as if it were common knowledge, and just expand the universe.
I assumed along with the majority that was the reason for Arrow and the Flash tv series, to introduce them ready for the team movie, but apparently that's not happening. Seems like they missed the boat.

I wonder does the infamous "bat embargo" apply to Arrow and they cant mention anything about him or related to him?
I thought that was a thing of the past but ya never know with Gotham and all that.....and I know one ios zero to do with the other but that has NEVER stopped DC/WBs media division before.....

So, will Affleck have 'the bat voice' or will he be more softly spoken?

So, will Affleck have 'the bat voice' or will he be more softly spoken? I have been wondering that since I laid eyes on Benbats and the new Batmobile.
