Cabrera with 23/30 votes and McCutch with 28/30.
I thought Cabrera would have been unanimous.

I may have screamed like a crazed person when I heard Cutch won MVP. A well deserved honor for one of the most well rounded players in the game.
The goal for the team now is to do it all over again next season. They can no longer say they cannot do it...they fell one game short of a pennant series. No excuses. They have the experience now so they better end up in the playoffs next season...I could care less where they finish if they make it...I just think after how magical this season was I may die if they have a losing season next year though and all of that and such. Haha.

I'm so excited. Yankees Hot Stove started tonight on the YES Network. If you've never seen Yankees Hot Stove, it's a really great show if you are interested in the players that every other team besides the Yankees are going to sign. They hardly ever mention the Yankees at all because they haven't done crap in 4 years on the free agent or trade market.
Oh, and MLB is trying to alter the collective bargaining agreement so that from now on the posting fees for Japanese players WILL count toward the luxury tax for the specific purpose of preventing the Yankees from getting Tanaka.

Whoever didnt vote for Kershaw should be removed from the writers association. I guess you need an ERA under 1 to be unanimous.

Leads the league in ERA, shutouts, strikeouts and WHIP in the same year. Third in wins, second in hits per 9, second in innings pitched. Clearly you can look at that and think, "There has to be someone out there better than this."

i honestly woudln't be surprised if when Mariano Rivera is eligible for the HOF one of those pompous douchebag voters will not give him one, JUST for the fact they apparently don't want anyone to be unanimous in anything. becaue that's such a bad thing...

No way Rivera gets unanimous, you will have people saying relievers shouldnt get in right away or something.
Maddux is gonna be the true test.

Nobody will be unanimous for a while is my guess. G. Maddux will be the 1st guy eligible in a while that is a 100% undeniable slam dunk, so he may get close. Just because some idiot back in the day didn't think that B. Ruth, T. Williams or whoever else you want to name wasn't a Hall of Famer, you will never see someone 100%.
Ty Cobb got a higher % than Ruth I believe on the inaugural ballot. Maddux is the only guy coming up that I see who can get really close. I believe he will be up there with Ryan and Seaver. Jr. Griffey will get a good number too then Rivera. Like Ralphio said, no way with Rivera being a reliever will he be unanimous. Bonds with no PEDs/attitude would be the biggest threat to it.

Sorry Hulk, Ruiz re-signed with the Phillies on a 3-year, $26M.
I was hoping the Sox would've signed him to get them out of the McCann sweepstakes, Heyman says they were really close before the Phillies made their offer.
Rats.

Maddux won't get it either bc the voters are incompetent idiots. We talking Greg Maddux? Why in the world would you NOT put him in on the first ballot? Stand up guy, 300+ wins, 3,000 ks, something like, what, 20 gold gloves or something? And he has no steroid stench on him to boot. Why would you not vote for that guy?

I'll be in the corner weeping uncontrollably if you need me.
