Ruin Tomorrow better do something with the Winter Meetings coming. His 3 big league deals this offseason have been to a 35 year old and two....not one but TWO 36 year olds. So he just better do something in the meetings.

I will gladly send Ugly over to the Yankees if they want a 2B.

I hope since Kuroda re-signed, that Girardi plays it smart next year, dont blow him up in the early months. to "conserve" his arm.

Yankees aren't signing or trading for any "big name" pitchers this season CC is Day 1 guy no matter what. Time will tell if last year was just a 'down year" or not. CC Kuroda Nova Pineda If Pineda is healthy and as good as he should be, there should be ZERO questions about him making the rotation. As far as 5th, unless they get a guy like Garza the 5th spot will be filled with Phelps or maybe Nuno. I'd be OK with Phelps....I think he's got a decent future. Then you see how the first half goes and if we need pitching at the trade deadline we have "chips" to deal. other thing im wondering is if they put Elsbury in CF....Gardner proved last season he is made for CF. not to mention he is "A Yankee"...I'd much rather see him stay in CF and put Jacoby in LF. Its too bad Ichiro's bat has slipped because if he was playing RF every day Yankees would have the best defensive OF in baseball in terms of catching/running

According to reports Cano didn't like playing for Girardi, because he didn't like hitting 2nd

Anyone remember when Phil Hughes, Joba Chamberlain & Ian Kennedy were suppose to be the 2nd coming of the glory days with Clemens/Pettitte/Cone???
That plan went well :/

-No way Soriano is ever playing 2B again. Don't even know why that's been brought up. -Like the Beltran signing -I think Brett Gardner is going to be traded for an SP. I heard from a Chicago Cubs reporter that the Cubs are interested. -I still hold firm by my belief that NYY will sign Tanaka if he's posted. -Omar Infante is probably gonna be the Yankees 2B -Heyman shot down the idea of the Yankees liking Uggla in any way, shape, or form (thank goodness) -Report from David Waldstein says Hal has given the OK to go above $189

3 years was too much for Salty, he had a very good year but this was what, his first great year? Plus he struggled big time in the playoffs.
3 years was just not gonna happen and as much as I hate AJP, I think he will provide more offense than Salty.
Super risky making moves banking on prospects unless they are super duper elite, so we might be in this situation next year too looking for a C.

makes sense....Salty's a decent catcher though. Younger, proven he can handle Boston. You can't judge a player purely on playoffs. Boston won a world series with Salty struggling....ya know?
I can't believe in all this Yankee mess I forgot about Mark Reynolds, I'd like to see them sign him back for a season to be the backup 3b/1b in case Tex isn't right. He might be an offensive liability at times, but he turned into a solid fielder and maybe he becomes a better player in the Yankee lineup

Boston doesnt like the 3 year deals. One day it might bite them in the ass but so far its working. Blake Swihart is a top catching prospect in baseball, if he hits AA this year and does well he might compete for the starting job in 2015. Last year Salty had an 804 OPS, his highest ever. Hes a .730 guy overall for his career. AJP had a down year last year at .722 OPS but for his career hes right around what Salty is .750 OPS with a lot more consistency and track record AJP doesnt walk though which should be fun to see how Boston reacts to that

Bobby Cox, Joe Torre, and Tony LaRussa in the Hall of Fame this year. Great to see that, and well deserved by all three. I wish I could be in Cooperstown this year with Maddux, and hopefully Glavine making it as well. Would be pretty special.

Why was I thinking Cox wasn't eligible yet? The man deserves it. No question about it. Has he really been gone 5 years?

Cox going in with Maddux and Glavine will be cool. I am also in the camp the F. McGriff should be a HOFer, but it isn't happening. The guy has right at 500 HRs when that was a HOF guarantee and no steroid cloud. I understand the argument against him though.
