TRW I can not believe the Braves are gonna roll with Gattis full time. Guy is gonna be a BUTCHER and has terrible platoon splits. I am shocked a smart team like that is gonna do that

I think they are still going to platoon Gattis. They don't have the payroll to keep McCann and we Freeman and others that I would rather keep.

Give me Beltran, Choo, or Ellsbury before Granderson. He should be the team's last choice in the OF. I like Granderson, he's a great dude, but some big dingers but I would rather have two years of Beltran or 5 of Choo before 4 or 5 of Granderson

With McCann signed, more teams will want to trade for Arencibia right? right?
Please?
Please take him away. I beg you.

I wish they would get rid of him, some way, some how. Someone must want the guy who only takes homerun swings.

I hope Big Papi pimps a moonshot and then knocks out McCann if the tries to block home plate

Sounds like they're more upbeat about Kuroda coming back. Plus, I bet they'll get Tanaka whenever he gets posted. They've also been linked with Feldman, who I've kinda grown to like.
The rotation will have uncertainties but so will every club. Not too worried about that.
Also, I kinda think the Yankees are either a)abandoning plan 189 or b) assuming A-Rod's a goner and they have even more to stay. Reports say they still want all of Cano/Tanaka/Beltran/Kuroda, can't do that and get under $189 if A-Rod's not suspended or if they really want plan 189 to happen.

I think someone other than the Yankees will get Tanaka. I just have a feeling some team like the Mariners or Cubs will go overboard for him.

Normally I would agree but he's been their number one pitching target for a while. They've done extensive, extensive scouting/research. I doubt they would let the Mariners outbid them. Also, Tanaka is said to want to join either the Yankees or Dodgers.

Also, Tanaka is said to want to join either the Yankees or Dodgers. eh everyone has done scouting on, a lot actually. Whoever the GM of the Cubs is, Hoyer? Said hes gonna bid. Everyone bids on these guys. I think the Yankees get Beltran and Cano and then go bargain basement for the starters. Tanaka can either go to whatever team wins the posting or stay in Japan. So he has some choice, but not much if he wants all that money.

I really disagree. Tanaka has been there #1 pitching priority, the bid counts nothing against the luxury tax, they will bid hard after him.
I've said it from day one of the offseason, the Yankees will spend a ton of money because A-Rod will be suspended (frees up a lot of money) and they had a ton of money coming off the books. Don' be shocked if they go nuts.

So the Pirates released Jones. The fans are not happy about it since he is a fan favorite but I understand why they did it. It just now becomes how truly interested in him were the Yankees a while back and is the interest still there. The guy can crush the long ball but if you teach him up on the swing and miss, it might still be a salvageable career for him.

Robinson Cano is destroying his already tainted image. Yankee fans were always on the fence about him due to his lackluster play at times. He was able to save face by winning that HR derby and just being a GREAT hitter overall. But this $300 million bullcrapis killing it. At this point, seeing what Boston did and what teams like the Nationals or Pirates can do...I say take that 300 and shove it up your ass. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Yankees can fill that position with a number of other free agents and have a LOT more money to spend to make this team better. I kinda hope the Yankees tell him and Jay-Z to off, go sign other players and Cano is without a team by Spring Training because no one wants to pay him for 10 years. Newsflash, you ain't Pujols (in the mid 2000's)....or Miguel Cabrera. You should be getting paid as much as or maybe a little bit more than Dustin Pedroia, you're on the same level and PEDROIA has an AL MVP.

You wanna tell the best 2B in baseball to screw because hes asking for too much? This happens with EVERY superstar and with the media. He'll be a Yankee by mid January. No need to flip out because his reps want a big deal. Thats their job

Yeah if you're Cano you gotta ask for a ton of money because all it takes is one stupid team to think he's worth it. I don't think he'll get even $200M and I'm curious how Jay-Z/CAA will handle that.

If Cano comes down on the years, he is absolutely worth a 20-30 million dollar deal. He is that good. He plays a premium position and the Yankees need him. No ones gonna give him 8 years, but I can see 5-6 with some silly options.
5/125 makes too much sense.
