Why does Hawkman get sculpted on tape if it's only gonna get used once as opposed to another line built on re-use just gets weaksauce paint. NOT BACKED.

They should have done taped wrists since the beginning. But I think the Hawkman hands might be a reuse of the Wildcat sculpt. I also said from day one I hoped the Horsemen would get to sculpt the WWE figures as well, but for whatever reason Mattel didn't use them for the WWE.

Yeah, I think by now they would have got their money's worth from sculpted wristbands for Cena. Punk's long wristwraps would've have a good run too.

Bossman wouldn't have worked without the new torso (or a new shirt over the top, like Mankind, DM Undertaker etc). Whereas for taped fists, painting them works well enough that they couldn't justify creating new arm molds just for Punk, HHH, Barrett (who'd each need their own one) etc.

Whether they'd need a new one or not, they'd definitely just use the same ones or at least the same fists. Forearms are a different story, but look at every Punk figure that's been made so far. I think they would've come out on top economically with that.

I don't know if I would agree with that it seems like 90% of the figures have had wrist tape. So if they had just sculpted the arms with tape to begin with all they would have had to do is make a set of taped hands and tapeless forearms for the few figures that didn't have tape on them. I think that one little detail of sculpted wrist tape would have made them look that much better.

Yeah, but making two sets of molds for each arm size (and several of the hands) would be extra cost when it's unnecessary. Very few people look at CM Punk figures and think "I'd buy 'em if the arms were sculpted differently."

While it would be cool to have sculpted wrist tape, i think mattel is in the right on using paint instead. just glancing at my shelf i can see 4 different lengths of wrist tape, which would be 4 more arm molds if using the same size forearm. Using paint they can make it however long the tape needs to be on whatever size arm they need and be done with it. while i think it would be awesome if they all had sculpted wrist tape id rather the budget go towards new head scans and new figures.
