Just wanna open this up for discussion to see peoples feelings on this issue. I know Tom made fun of it a few weeks ago on the RSC video. People are selling and bidding over $50 for Michael McGillicutty figures on Ebay and I know there are very few available for trade by people. Is it worth getting an earlier figure of a new and now promising wrestler compared to waiting and just getting his newer figures to be out eventually? Is part of it that collectors want a guys earlier figure now that he wont be cut? Lets the discussion begin.

It basically is like the Skip Sheffield thing, but I guess "worth" is determined by your patience. If you want a Curtis Axel figure before this time next year, you'd better try to get a McGillicutty figure. If you don't mind waiting 10-12 months, I'd say don't bother.

My goal when the Nexus debuted to get everyone that was involved with them as a figure and I got everyone but McGillicutty, couldn't bring myself to get it on RSC and couldn't find it in stores, I'd say hold off and wait for an Axel, heck, he'll even get an elite sooner or later.

Not worth it. Prices will fall once he gets an updated figure in Basic and Elite form.

I dont want one. I am saying I notice people bidding and selling for extreme prices. I am just wondering peoples take on why it is happening, If it is because they now want the figure to collect all of his stuff seeing as he not be let go anytime soon or if they are impatient or etc. I would never pay 75+ for a basic.

It depends on if you enjoy him or not. I think he's neato when I watch him on TV, so I bought a really cool custom off ebay. If you don't like him, don't buy one.

He's hot right now so people want his figure.
In a year when his figure comes out, his push could have totally fallen flat.

I don't see why it would take 10-12 months...It's not a debut figure it's just a repaint so that's more 3-6 months. If his push is a success they will bump him into an earlier Elite series. And you know there will be more Basics before the end of the years. I wouldn't be surprised if they show him at SDCC.

We learned the basic series line-ups into the Fall and the BO2013 line-up almost a month ago. That means those ones were already essentially in production at the time. There would be 2-3 more basic sets this year that are as of yet unaccounted for, and since Curtis Axel has only been relevant for 3-4 weeks, I very much doubt we see him in a line-up before B36 or 37.

I think I remember seeing one last year but cant remember.

I've had the battle pack with McGillicutty and Otunga MOC since it came out and it's one of my favorite items in my collection (figure quality, pose, belts, etc) so I would say it is worth it. But I liked it just as much pre-Curtis Axel; no reason to go crazy for now just because Curtis Axel is the cool thing to like. If you appreciate the actual figure enough to justify paying that price for it, you probably already have it.

Not worth it...With the way he is being push now, I don't think we will wait for 12mths for a new figure as it will just be a repaint.

Not gonna lie I do think its worth it. And I'm not just saying that as a huge Axel mark.LOL. I searched high and dry for that two pack and finally found it one single time at a TRU. Never saw it again. Its personally my favorite two pack (Ryback Jinder is now up there as well) but the likeness and perfection, no pun intended, of the Mcguillicutty figure is just amazing. Still one of my favorite basics and its perfect for usage as Curtis Axel. If I didn't have one id honestly consider paying 40 to 50 bucks for one.

I think I remember seeing one last year but cant remember. RSC posted videos of it on YouTube, but it wasn't broadcast live. We got a lot of Twitpics during the reveal of some of the new figs. We saw early glimpses of Tensai and Sandow, but we know how long it took to see them in stores. I'm guessing if we saw any sign of Axel it would be along those lines.
