I don't see why it would take 10-12 months...It's not a debut figure it's just a repaint so that's more 3-6 months. If his push is a success they will bump him into an earlier Elite series. And you know there will be more Basics before the end of the years. I wouldn't be surprised if they show him at SDCC. I would be VERY surprised if we saw him at SDCC. We learned the basic series line-ups into the Fall and the BO2013 line-up almost a month ago. That means those ones were already essentially in production at the time. There would be 2-3 more basic sets this year that are as of yet unaccounted for, and since Curtis Axel has only been relevant for 3-4 weeks, I very much doubt we see him in a line-up before B36 or 37. SDCC is about 15-20 days away. They could have a quick proto by then. Even if juat for the slide show. But back to the original point. If his Push gets over Mattel can easily bump someone and replace them with him. I mean they produce a new set of Basics monthy and Elites bi-monthy. The hard part is done already as they have the head sculpt. So all it would be is getting his trunks design and he could be be bumped into the BAF Hayman set.

Maybe he gets snuck in for the last basic set; like I said, it's not unheard of, but I very much doubt they will have rushed Curtis Axel to be shown at the con. The probably let things play out a bit with these new debuts/returns before they even touch their character. I'm guessing they didn't see his return with Heyman and go "stop the presses, we got to rush out a figure of this guy."

I'm surprised people haven't learned from the Ryback/Skip Sheffield thing, and are paying so much for a figure of the guy. Given what happened with Skip, it's not worth it in the least to fork over $50 for a basic of a guy who will easily get 1-2 more Basics and an Elite before this time next year

Yeah, they already stated that all of their assortments are set in stone through the end of the year.

July 11-13. do they broadcast SDCC Mattel panel or do you tube videos for it? I think I remember seeing one last year but cant remember. RSC posted videos of it on YouTube, but it wasn't broadcast live. We got a lot of Twitpics during the reveal of some of the new figs. We saw early glimpses of Tensai and Sandow, but we know how long it took to see them in stores. I'm guessing if we saw any sign of Axel it would be along those lines. Wow, I forgot they showed those figures then. That is a long time. I hope we get to see the elite Trish and Macho Man. Also Taker.

I know they don't take a day to build, but a figure like Axel would have a 3-6 month turnaround once it was green lighted for production not 10-12 like you stated in your first post. And like I said if his Push is successful I can see Mattel bumping someone else from a set for him as they have done that in the past. As for a proto all they would have to do is Photoshop a new logo on his BP figure for the slide show. That's not hard at all. But like I said it all depends on how his push goes. If it's successful I can see him being out in both the Basic and Elite lines within 3-6 months. If it's not successful then yes it will be at least 10-12 months before we see another Basic (if ever) and I doubt they'll ever make an Elite.

It's a great figure, but if I didn't already have it (since it came out), I wouldn't pay any more than $20 shipped for it. He will have plenty of figures soon. Probably better ones.

As a huge Mr Perfect mark and big fan of Axel, I would still say it's not worth it. I think we will see him before the year is over. I would never pay that much for a basic. $25, maybe $30 if you're a big fan.
I'm so glad I got the Otunga 2pack MOC off the classifieds on here last winter for $25.

I cant really pay more than 30 for a figure even if I am a huge fan. I paid 34 for the Bellas recently and that is my highest besides Andre I paid 40$ for. He will have better figures that will come out and you will be able to get at retail. I laugh when I see bidding words that go up to 75$ for a 10$ basic figure.

Big exception to the rule there

Def not worth it imo. What has he really done anyways? Held a title that doesnt really mean anything these days considering half of the roster has held it or eventually will. I wouldnt pay retail for any of his figures just yet but I dont buy figures of every wrestler like some. I just collect who I think has had a good career and a good looking figure at the least. That being said, his figure is pretty basic.

His next figure will sell well.

I collect loose but I'm debating whether or not to open it. It is such a great package Id leave it MOC. The belt also doesnt fit around him so it is displayed perfectly in package. I put him behind my posed figures I prop him up on a stand so he is a little higher and you can see him.

u would think ppl that get cut would be worth more since they definitely wont get another figure. got his basic but i would definitely take a curtis axel elite and since he won the title so fast after his debut and doesnt wear any xtra entrance gear could definitely come with another white intercontinentil title.

definitely not worth paying the prices now. and it sure as hell should NOT take a year for Curtis Axel to come out, considering all the parts necessary already have molds...
