How many of you gave up on this show? SPOILER ALERT I watched the first episode of the current season. When I heard "Daryl found an abandoned military base.", I groaned out loud. Terrible writing. |

How many of you gave up on this show? I quit watching after Rick left. I was watching out of habit when the killed Carl, but Rick leaving was the final straw. |

How many of you gave up on this show? I oddly gave up right after Negan was introduced. My favorite character in the comics and a fantastic actor playing him, and I just couldn’t care anymore. I actually tried to restart from the beginning at the beginning of the year and couldn’t make it past season three. The magic and interest is just gone. It’s really not a great show. |

I still watch it and imo these last 5 or 6 episodes of the season has been great. Really looking forward to the last 8 episodes and hopefully we get a few big moments.

How many of you gave up on this show? At some point before the whisperers showed up. It just became a very repetitive show where the side episodes were about the most uninteresting characters and the main episodes were just people sitting/standing around talking until something happened at the end of a season |

I'm sticking around till the end, and honestly this last run that just wrapped up was the best I've enjoyed it in a few years. But it definitely isn't the can't-miss show it was. You can tell the franchise is limping its way down the homestretch. AMC didn't even run a mini-marathon that they used to always do to build up the finale.
The buzz doesn't seem to be there for the end. Maybe burnout with the FEAR franchise, two announced continuity spin-offs, an anthology series, and the proposed Grimes films that I don't even know are anything more than a pipedream still.

I say it’s a great chance of Rick being in the last episode or two to set the movies up but maybe we just see him and not any of the characters. I can see them saving that for the movies. I know a lot of people lost interest in it but imo it’s gotten back on pace when Angela Kang took over. Loving the Aaron,Gabe,Maggie,Daryl and Hornsby stuff.

Agreed, it just doesn't have the same feel. Writing became very repetitive. Killing off characters became less of a plot arc and more of a "shock" initiative. Somewhere right before Negan showed up was where I lost steam. I blame most of it on Season 5. The hospital story arc was insultingly awful. I was really looking forward to the Terminus Cannibals after they spent most of season 4 getting there and then they killed them off in about 2 episodes. Alexandria was painfully boring until the episode in Season 6 where Carl lost his eye and Rick went ape s#!t. |

I read the whole comic series in its entirety. And I knew it was always gunna go different in the show but killing Carl was so dumb. Gm they shoulda gave him the raise. The serried should’ve ended w him and his family like intended. I gave up long ago. Not gunna let them ruin that absolutely beautiful work the comic guys did for me

I watched it from year 1 to finish,sure it had its ups and downs but I loved the ride.
Its gonna be in my top favorite shows for a long time

Any word on when any of the walking dead shows start/come back.
Fear is ending it I read correctly and I dont think the other show was coming back.

I stopped after the Whisperer war ended. Rick was gone and Alpha, Beta & Jesus got smoked. It just got really boring after they removed all of the original 8 from the show. Sure there's Daryl but idc about Daryl. Never did. Liked Meryl better anyways despite his character being a pos. Jon Bernthal as Shane was phenomenal, he adapted to the end of the world too fast. Everyone who thought he was psycho in the beginning ended up just like him. Loved the first 2-3 seasons. Most satisfying death from the whole show? Dale x1000 I was so glad when I realized I'd never have to hear him crying again moving forward.
How is FTWD doing? I was keeping up bc I enjoyed some of the characters then they killed off the Dad and the young kid from the first episode who'd cover himself in blood and guts. Really liked his character but seen they smoked him too so stopped keeping up with it after I found that out. They try too hard to be GOT. I get it, its a zombie apocalypse and a lot of people are going to die but EVERY main character from the first season? Damn.
