Remember the good old days when the WWE allowed chair shots to the head? Why did they ban them?

Remember the good old days when the WWE allowed chair shots to the head? Why did they ban them? WWE/Vince Macmahon was blamed and supposedly responsible for the deaths of many WWE, WCW and WWF superstars over the years. The PG era was created as a wrestler friendly zone to prevent concussions, injuries in general.

I was watching Cena vs. RVD One Night Stand - and I completely forgot they stopped chair shots to the head now. I miss Shane's Chair shots though.

very smart thing to do on their part. I guess so. I wonder how many kids parents sued the WWE over injuries their kids sustained by imitating chair shots.

Because its way too damaging for the head.
Glad they banned it. It might have been fun to see, but its not worth the price the wrestlers paid for it.

Watch Rock vs. Foley in the I Quit Match and you'll realise just how ing ridiculous they were in hindsight. Hard to watch to be honest.

Gee I dunno, safety?
They're just not worth hurting someone's future just to get the crowd to oh & ah. And to be honest, I really don't miss them.

I don't know why the still can't have them and just have the wrestlers oh I don't know, lift up the arms and take the impact there instead of directly in the head? I mean it protects them (at least from the full force, but I have first hand experience) and it makes sense, how many people wouldn't try to protect themselves? I would be fine if we never seen a full on collision again but I don't see why we can't still get the protected variant of it.

Anybody remember the sick chair shots to the head Masato Tanaka would take? I do, those were the days. He was amazing, still is. I commend WWE for banning them, they aren't needed anymore.

yeah they did right to ban them.he had no choice IMO in the light of the Benoit incident.
they are not correct to ban blood on PPVs though.I wish someone would change that policy.
