It's just not so fun to look at after a while I feel sick and compassion for Mick for being to take that many chair shots to the head and having very minor injuries. Man I respect the hell out of that guy. |

Isn't Raven the one who said that if chair shots to the head are done correctly that they aren't any more dangerous than those to the body? It was just a matter of WWE doing the open head shots and guys not knowing how to hit people the right way that was the issue. I'm assuming, that if anyone is an expert on chair shots, it's Raven.
I know the shots on Foley were to the mask. Supposedly, he couldn't feel anything with the mask on so if hit in the right place it was like hitting a helmet. Obviously, and from Foley's own mouth, Rock took that sh** way over board when he hit him like 8 times or whatever it was at the Rumble. Notice how guys swing diagonal on him though, as to get mostly mask.
I personally don't see why they can't still do head shots with the arm/hand up. They don't even hit their head. I think the real problem is that society is becoming ultra PC with head injuries in todays sports. Football is the worst, but hockey has taken its fair share of rule changes with the changing times as well. Not saying it's a bad thing, but as someone who played competitive hockey for 18 years and still plays casually on a weekly basis, they seem to take the head injury thing to the extreme imo.
Also, I'm sure the Chris Benoit incident played plenty into this as well. As that seems to have had at least seem element of involvement on a ton of the changes that were made 2007 to present imo.

I personally think chair shots to the head should come back if the situation calls for it. I also think blood use in a match should come back if the situation calls for it too.

I understand why the banned them but I do miss them. Chair shots to the back (with a few exceptions) just aren't as brutal.

You can't use the Eddie Guerrero chair shot by JBL cause Eddie bladed. He did that to himself, not the chair.

They are brutal and probably should be banned for good... but man I did love them back in the day. I didn't really understand that they could be incredibly harmful, I just thought they looked cool.

It's just not so fun to look at after a while dude...that is so insane. i've seen all those chair shots before, but to pile them up like that makes you realize how absolutely ridiculous it is. the ones at 1:03 and 2:22 are just straight up ugly. when i think of chairshots, i always think of dreamer/raven's chairshot heard around the world and the rock swinging off on shamrock, who was on his knees calling it on: |
