Hey guys! I have been thinking very seriously about buying the Best of WCW Nitro DVD but I want to make sure it is what I am looking for. So I was wondering what is your opinion on it?
Thank you for your time.

I loved it. There are so many great matches. However, I think everyone would say it's just like everything else could always have added other matches. Hopefully there will be a volume 2.

haven't seen it, but TBH I'm not really interested in buying compilation DVDs. this DVD is a (small) step in the right direction though. ie acknowledging and celebrating the history of WCW.
what i really want is for WWE to make every episode of Nitro and every WCW PPV available on DVD. uncut and with original music. every raw and every wcw saturday night would be good too. i know it's not gonna happen though.
for the less-obsessive WCW fans though, and for the fans who didn't see much of WCW, this should be a definite pick up. Nitro was an awesome show and an important part of wrestling history.

I might pick up the package deal WWE Shop has. Its the Rise and Fall of WCW and the Best of Nitro DVD's for $29.99 before shipping.

I loved it! I only remember parts of '98 to '00 so this was great to see the better parts of Nitro. Wonder if they will make a Best of Thunder?

they should really release backstage footage from wcw. I think they should have that as a DVD extra. I'm not sure how many would buy it, but a WCW Nitro set full of all of the episodes would be amazing. If they did that though they would have to do it through a store on the internet like iTunes. I would definitely buy some old WCW things. They could put events up too. I wouldn't mind $20-$25 per PPV WCW had and $2.99 per episode. The cool part about this idea is that we would have the WCW footage forever.

I'm thinking of getting it too.
I really wish there was more WCW available on DVD.

Yesterday at my local KMart, I picked up Best of Nitro bundled with a Four Horsemen two-disc set for $19.99. The WWE Shop deal is a good one too, but since I already have Rise and Fall it wouldn't have made sense for me.

Like I said before I think they should release episodes and PPV's on Netflix or iTunes. If its on iTunes they could even make money from it.

Did Raven make this DVD at all? At least a cameo of him getting run over by Goldberg for the US title???
I have been to Walmart twice already to look at it and I just haven't purchased it yet. It may be something I get down the road. Obviously, they won't be able to make everyone happy but I wish this would have been done more like the RAW seasons. 1997 and 1998 could have both had their own 4 disc sets imo. I guess this is a good start to see the level of appeal, but hopefully they can do a volume 2 or continue this in some way.

It looks like our locales aren't that far apart, so I would imagine they would have the same deal at your local K-Mart.

But I have yet to finish all of Disc 2.

I just finished the whole set today.
It was nice. I'm a very nostalgic person so I liked it I guess. My only complaint (and this rings true with most WWE dvd's) is that there are no wrestler interviews. Like, I wouldn't mind hearing ex-WCW stars comment on what they thought when the nWo was created, or like when Russo and Bischoff joined forces in 2000.
It's all matches and promos, and personally, I didn't even think all the matches were that great, and some of the promos they picked were downright awful.

I mean the only argument I could make in their defense would be that NWO has a "Back in Black" DVD that was released a long time ago. Also, on the R&F of WCW DVD, both of those subjects are mentioned. Maybe not as in depth as most would have liked them to be but it's still mentioned.
