So was this really Schiavonne's pull that made this happen? I also heard Schiavonne was head of the whole Kiss concert.

He never had any creative control to my knowledge.

I knew that Tony was an bunghole and played politics but I never knew he had creative control. If true then I've misplaced the blame for the KISS Demon on Russo all these years.

I don't condone buying RF stuff, but I really recommend that shoot with Russo. He really does make a lot of points that smarks don't want to admit. It's actually really good.

Yeah, in Russo's book he said that Schiavone came up with the idea of giving Arquette the title, but he, himself finalized it.

I always kinda liked Russo. He just needed a filter. I think the Attitude era booking team of Russo writing, Patterson designing the matches, and Vince providing the overall vision was a dream team.

If you read Dutch Mantell's books, he says that while he personally likes Russo and considers him a friend, Vince likes to take credit for all of the ideas that work and shift blame for all of the ideas that dont. Going by reputation alone, I think that I'll take Dutch's word over Russo's. Almost everybody in wrestling has something negative to say about Russo, while I've never heard a cross word about Mantell from anybody but Russo.

Even so, that's two abominations to a million more Russo created. He was always looking for shock value instead of making good business decisions. Russo's the man, but .

Bischoff was the one behind the whole KISS thing, he talks about it extensively in his book. The KISS concert was booked months in advance, before Russo even signed with WCW.

Biggest gripe about Russo's booking is, he never has a long term storyline arc, so to speak everything is rushed and crammed into a 2/3 week thing. WWE has gone the same way in recent years, I think that is why WWE is partially in decline.
The most successful storylines are the long term ones people can get emotionally involved in, e.g Sting/Crow from 1997, Mega Powers explode was almost a year in the making, even Batista turning on HHH in 2005 was done gradually to awesome effect.

I agree with this 100%! I loved how the Mega Powers feud just started really slowly with a subtle look confused from Savage here and there to get things moving. These days, Savage would've hit Hogan with a chair on the first night LOL ;D

Russo just needed a boss.he had that in WWF and came up with some gold like
1)slowly but surely turning UT more violent and heel throughout 98 2)the suggestion of needing to create a heel gang for Austin to oppose(The Corperation)
but also some shiite that thankfully got turned down
JJ beating Austin clean at Summerslam 99 and getting the push that would eventually go to HHH

...i would've loved if jj got the clean win on austin. austin wouldn't have gone anywhere, he was too over, and it would've done absolute wonders for jarrett...who could've easily been one of the top stars of the attitude era if he didn't get ed with so much.

Personally JJ never did anything or won me over. At best, even in wcw, he was a good mid carder. But never a big main eventer in my mind. Problem always, is that JJ saw himself as a main eventer all the time.Do you think 10-20 years from now, people will remember JJ for title reigns in wcw or tna??? People won't be talking anytime soon about JJ being a good champion.
