Booker T am I the only one who was shocked that both of the 2 Cena/Orton staredowns got NO reaction from the crowd? Not at all. Boston crowds are brutally honest and I think they were simply making it clear that that match means nothing anymore. It's been done to absolute death. Yeah, I liked that crowd. They seemed to have good wrestling knowledge. Really into the Edge/Ziggler match. Pretty dead during the Orton/Miz match. And the dueling CM Punk and Daniel Bryan chants during the rumble shows they know wrestling more than the average crowd at events.

Daniel Bryan was awesome. I'm glad he was able to be in there for a long time.

People are talking about lack of main events casual fans will want to see, etc. But if you want a main event that will get people outside of diehards talking, something casual fans will be interested in and the media will pick up on... Miz Vs. Cena is IT! Cena is the face of WWE right now and by far has the most appeal to casual fans. Miz has so much crossover media appeal it's just insane. Both of these guys are going to be all over talks shows, entertainment shows, web sites. I don't care if you like the Miz or not, he will get the word out. I personally like the prospect of everything rumored/set up thus far for Mania. Miz vs. Cena has the crossover appeal and hasn't been run into the ground yet Orton vs. Punk will be very solid and the build up should be really good (I'd prefer Punk vs Bryan, but that's the geek in me, I guess) Taker vs. Barrett will also have good build and will completely cement Barrett as a top guy without him winning. Edge vs. Del Rio has the least potential for build up as a feud, but the match will be solid and Del Rio going after the title should be fun. There's also talk of Rey Vs. Cody which I think will be a good match. I am interested to see who Bryan defends against, and I really hope Kong debuts before then so I can see her live. I really wish Gail Kim had been the fourth tonight just so it would have led to her and Kong at Mania And really, how many Mania matches feel bigger than a normal match on paper? Sure, the HBK ones the past three years have, but otherwise they're not only matches that could happen any time, but have happened other times. It's the build that's important. I'm going to be in Atlanta for Mania and I really can't wait to see this event.

Not really. I never really wanted anyone to win coming into the match as long as it wasn't certain people. I would have liked to see Punk, Ziggler, Morrison, or Kingston win. But yes once it got down to those 4 guys. I would have preferred Santino.. But that's the whole point. Santino sucks and I would rather have him then those 4. Doesn't matter if you picked Santino an hour before the match or during the match. You wanted him to win. Old School, what did you think about Taker winning the belt the first time? I mean he was only in the company for a year and he went and beat HULK ING HOGAN. He hadn't won a belt before then, so what the hell? Yeah, but he was a destructive force. One of the most feared Superstars at that time. His reign didn't last either. Remember that too. I liked 'Taker winning the belt from Hogan because it was completely unexpected. Only a few guys beat Hogan for the belt back then and 'Taker was one of 'em. I was just pissed his reign was so short, that's all. Wish he would've held it longer. But, it was Hogan's time back then, so what can ya do??....

So you're saying that Del Rio IS going to headline Mania... I thought you'd put money down that he'd lose his spot. God, just ignore that guy, there are actual intelligent people who don't like what happened, please don't think this is how we all think. am I the only one who was shocked that both of the 2 Cena/Orton staredowns got NO reaction from the crowd? That was one problem I had with the finish, NOBODY wanted to see Cena or Orton win. They should have had a hot face that the crowd was behind for Del Rio to eliminate last, it could have gotten him mega heat. Maybe Morrison, he got a pretty good pop for his entrance. True, but they were popping HARD for Santino when he hit that cobra.

I am sick of MITB and pushing guys that way.
The person always wins the title and for the person that does eventually lose, they'll look like a joke.

I'm still wondering Mr. Old School, who you wanted to win the Royal Rumble.

It could just be my allegiance to the Northeast, but I've been to a lot of arenas for WWE shows and being a part of a Boston crowd is by and large my favorite, even more so than MSG. One of my fondest live memories was Summerslam 2006. My entire side of the arena was heckling Cena throughout the whole match with Edge. I was in a really pro-Edge area that went absolutely nuts when he won. Sure enough, though, without hesitation, as soon as the match was over and the cameras were off, everyone gave a nice round of applause to Cena, who was really just breaking out into his own and was sort of confused about the mixed reaction in his home state. It was a nice little show of respect and a great way to end the night. Boston crowds definitely know how to handle themselves.

Alberto Del Rio is spectacular. Thank you WWE for having the guts to give us something new this year: Cena vs. Miz and Del Rio vs. Edge. Sure, it may be Cena/Punk but I highly doubt it. They're clearly building toward Miz and Cena.
I'll admit, the matches don't SOUND spectacular because we're not used to this youth movement. But we have to start somewhere.
and Del Rio is the greatest person in history. pero ustedes lo sabían.

Del Rio winning the Rumble was unexpected and him winning the title would be even more unexpected. Taker winning the belt was unexpected? You say he was a destructive force, shouldn't it have been obvious that he would win it? Would have made him look awful if he lost to Hogan the first time.

The person always wins the title and for the person that does eventually lose, they'll look like a joke. thats another good point. its ok for an up and coming superstar to win MITB then cash it in and win himself a cheap title but its not ok for an up and coming super star to win the rumble and get a title shot that way.

It's the WWE's easy way to get young talent in the main event picture without stepping over proven stars along the way. They want to get the younger stars over while making the proven stars still look good, and if they keep that up, that won't get them anywhere.
