I completely agree with those saying that this is risky business in terms of thinking ahead for Wrestlemania. I understand that people are happy about Del Rio, I think the guy is talented and there was no doubt that he was a future main event player, but he's not selling any merchandise, he's not drawing any fans, he's just a new guy who happens to be able to generate heat. You need big match situations for Wrestlemania, you need drawing power. Right now, this is how Wrestlemania looks on paper... The Miz vs. John Cena Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio The Undertaker vs. Wade Barrett Randy Orton vs. CM Punk Casual fans should be able to access Wrestlemania and feel like the main events mean something. Some casual fans would look at this and say, "who?" I fully expect some changes to be made around Elimination Chamber. I have no idea what, and no idea how, but that doesn't look like a Wrestlemania to me. I think one thing that distorts wrestling fans minds is that they actually think Wrestlemania is a big deal. Outside of the city its in and wrestling world, nobody really cares. Its not as big as say the World Series or the Super Bowl. You can put two crappy teams together in the Super Bowl and people will still make a huge deal out of it and companies will pay Millions if not billions to be part of it. Wrestlemania isnt like that. Mania needs a selling point. They need a Hogan vs Andre. As much as they wanna feed us that the Miz is on the Today Show or Regis and Kelly or MTV2...He's not "the name" that can suck in the casual or even non fan like others can. That's precisely the point I was trying to make. With a card like that, Wrestlemania falls risk to feeling like nothing more than your average Pay-Per-View. Take those four matches and assign them to any other event throughout the year and you've got a hell of a card, but at Wrestlemania it doesn't cut it.

Miz & Del Rio aren't even worthy to headline Sunday Night Heat, let alone a WrestleMania. LOL. You're really embarrassing yourself at this point. Please stop.

Also, I'm fine with ADR and Miz potentially headed WM, and that's all that matters to me. the haters.

this thread really makes it sound like people don't want anyone new in the main event and just want matches like Orton/Cena over and over and over and over. Exactly what I was thinking, people complain about no "change in the main event", but when there is change, they complain about "too early!!!!"

I love Christian, but Christian vs Edge wouldn't sell much more than Edge vs ADR would. You must be joking...There is MUCH more history between Edge & Christian than this ing scrub. I hate when they push these rookies. They push them too hard, too fast. They just aren't ready. Case and point, Sheamus and Swagger. Both guys are some of the younger talent, right? Well, they already had their time in the sun as former World and WWE champions and their reigns sucked MAJOR ass. Neither one of them will be champion again. Why?? Because they are rookies and just weren't ready for that main event world title spot. The same goes for this Del Rio guy. Pushed too hard, too fast. It'll fail. You can just replace Swagger and Sheamus with Lesnar and Orton for two guys who were pushed first and had unmemorable first title reigns (cept for Lesnar/Taker cell match). They turned out fine and Alberto Del Rio will as well. But you already knew that. Case and point, blah blah blah. And lol at the idea of Christian being a main event star but not Del Rio.

Miz & Del Rio aren't even worthy to headline Sunday Night Heat, let alone a WrestleMania. LOL. Yet somehow one of them is the WWE Champion and the other is the Royal Rumble winner and will be headlining WrestleMania. Yeah, their ing jobbers for sure. Get used to it, these guys are the future of the business, wether you like it or not.

Miz & Del Rio aren't even worthy to headline Sunday Night Heat, let alone a WrestleMania. LOL. So you're saying that Del Rio IS going to headline Mania... I thought you'd put money down that he'd lose his spot. You guys said he'll headline, not me. You guys said it over and over. I'm just saying neither him or Miz are worthy enough to headline a Sunday Night Heat card, let alone a friggin' WrestleMania. ;D

Miz & Del Rio aren't even worthy to headline Sunday Night Heat, let alone a WrestleMania. LOL. So you are basically saying everything The Miz has done, doesn't matter and he shouldn't even headline Sunday Night Heat? Now please tell me, who did you want to win the royal rumble? Diesel?

I'm only at page 118 so excuse me if this has been said already. Sunday at about 8:00 PM CST everyone loves Del Rio. Sunday at about 9:40 PM CST everyone hates Del Rio. Not really. This board is still filled with Del Rio marks for God knows what... You can go through my post history for every Raw and Smackdown thread, I can't stand the guy. Annoying, bland, and boring. And they are going to put a guy in his first year up in the WWE in the main event of their biggest show in a title match?? Give me a break. I really hope he either loses his title match somehow, or they get to be a fatal 4 way or triple threat so he can get carried through the match. I have no problem with him being a mid card wrestler, even though I would still rather see him off my TV altogether. Once it got down to Barrett, Cena, Del Rio, and Orton it was a lose lose. (I guess a lose, lose, lose, lose) I honestly wanted Santino to win at that point.. ing Santino.

I personally enjoyed this PPV. Ziggler/Edge was fantastic, the crowd was absolutely hot, Booker and Diesel returning had me marking the out, and Del Rio winning is fine with me, although I don't expect him to win at 'Mania. Only negative things I can point out were Eve winning the Diva's Championship and Orton and Dolph being in the Rumble with no explanation. The ending with Santino had me on the edge of my seat. A great PPV IMO.

The WWE has two options for WrestleMania.
Money maker but sucks hard
or
Makes decent money but is amazing
That is the reality facing them today.
It looks like they are going for amazing.
This is the year that they have to take a risk.
HBK isn't there. Jericho isn't there. Taker isn't there. HHH isn't there. Batista isn't there.
They have to do something about that and pushing these young guys is what they've decided to do. It is fantastic.

You're really embarrassing yourself at this point. Please stop. If only he would.. Nope. Not gonna stop. So get used to that. You guys want to blab how good this Del Rio guy is?? Then I'm going to voice MY opinion on why he sucks and isn't ready for that main event WrestleMania spot. Deal with it.
