I'm calling it right now: Edge vs Christian For The World Title at WrestleMania 28 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto!

That would at least get me to tune in, instead of this ing rookie Del Rio. Can't wait until Del Rio loses his #1 contender spot and hear all the crying then. You Del Rio fans are laughing now, but just wait. It's still a while until WrestleMania and just remember, Christian IS on his way back. Christian will take Del Rio's spot and headline WrestleMania. He deserves it more anyway. At one time Demolition were rookies. But that was when rookies were cool and wrestling was cool. NOT THA DELRIO GUY, HE SUCKS.

Gotta love Edge using the unprettier, too.

People care too much about how matches sound ON PAPER.
Dolph/Edge didn't sound that great on paper, but it was match of the year, thus far.
Give Del Rio a chance. Please. Goddamn.

I'm calling it right now. Miz will not make it to WrestleMania with the belt and Del Rio will lose his #1 contender spot. I'm sorry, but those guys couldn't main event a WrestleMania if their lives depended on it. They just aren't ready. I believe they want to make money off WrestleMania, not lose it...If either of those punks are anywhere near the main event at WrestleMania, I'd save my $50, I'll tell ya that much right now. How do you know? You don't! So stop acting like you do! Save your fifty bucks, buy a more positive attitude and stop watching wrestling if you wanna bitch about every goddamn thing... What did you expect coming from this show?

You must be joking...There is MUCH more history between Edge & Christian than this ing scrub. I hate when they push these rookies. They push them too hard, too fast. They just aren't ready. Case and point, Sheamus and Swagger. Both guys are some of the younger talent, right? Well, they already had their time in the sun as former World and WWE champions and their reigns sucked MAJOR ass. Neither one of them will be champion again. Why?? Because they are rookies and just weren't ready for that main event world title spot. The same goes for this Del Rio guy. Pushed too hard, too fast. It'll fail.

Demolition should be main eventing in a handicap match at Mania, right? That would at least get me to tune in, instead of this ing rookie Del Rio. This is the most pathetic post I have ever seen.

this thread really makes it sound like people don't want anyone new in the main event and just want matches like Orton/Cena over and over and over and over.

I agree with noir. I loved the Royal Rumble. I don't get how Orton and Ziggler automatically were in though.

Everyone's got their opinions.... enjoyed the PPV. Eve being a mystery opponent and winning the title in the Diva's match didn't make any sense at all. I'll say that much....
I loved the Boston crowd. I hate Boston fans typically when it comes to sports - being from Philadelphia - but I appreciate a great east coast wrestling city. They are real deal - like Philly and NY when it comes to being vocal at events. We all rule. Nuff said.
As far as the Rumble match goes - happy Del Rio won - woulda had a heart attack if Santino eliminated him... in a good way. LOL. Match itself was eh and I can totally understand why Pat Patterson didn't like the 40 man rumble idea - making it seemed watered down which I really think it did in my mind. LOVED the Booker and Diesel appearances - I was hoping they would enter into a feud and go into WM but who knows... Was pretty aggravated with the booking of the match - one thing that nobody has touched on is just how predictable and staged the booking of this match was. I HATE it when it feels staged. Yes I know its WWE - its staged... I get that.... but the one thing in the past with Rumbles is that it had a "random" feel to it. This one didn't. I hated that the majority of the first half of the participants were RAW guys, I hated the Nexus domination of superstars, I hated how quick a lot of guys were tossed out tonight. But whatever - it is what it is ... Orton and Ziggler had no business being in the match and made both just look weaker in the process.

Truthfully, the more I think about it, the more I realize that it was really virtually impossible to make me happy going in to Wrestlemania this year.
There are no fresh matches I wanted to see that are currently possible, there is no combination that screams "Wrestlemania" to me.
Whoever faces Cena is going to be fed to Cena, so it's just a matter of picking your poison. The only match I was interested in was Cena/Taker.
If you think about it, given the current talent pool that WWE has, every main event scenario falls under one of two categories...
-Already been done -Not big enough to headline Wrestlemania
It's a pretty grim outlook to take, but unfortunately it's completely true.
Nothing left to do but ride the wave into April and hope WWE can pull something off this year.
Hell, who knows. Wrestlemania 26 looked huge on paper and was a big let down. Maybe 27 will look underwhelming and come up big.

I completely agree with those saying that this is risky business in terms of thinking ahead for Wrestlemania. I understand that people are happy about Del Rio, I think the guy is talented and there was no doubt that he was a future main event player, but he's not selling any merchandise, he's not drawing any fans, he's just a new guy who happens to be able to generate heat. You need big match situations for Wrestlemania, you need drawing power. Right now, this is how Wrestlemania looks on paper... The Miz vs. John Cena Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio The Undertaker vs. Wade Barrett Randy Orton vs. CM Punk Casual fans should be able to access Wrestlemania and feel like the main events mean something. Some casual fans would look at this and say, "who?" I fully expect some changes to be made around Elimination Chamber. I have no idea what, and no idea how, but that doesn't look like a Wrestlemania to me. I think one thing that distorts wrestling fans minds is that they actually think Wrestlemania is a big deal. Outside of the city its in and wrestling world, nobody really cares. Its not as big as say the World Series or the Super Bowl. You can put two crappy teams together in the Super Bowl and people will still make a huge deal out of it and companies will pay Millions if not billions to be part of it. Wrestlemania isnt like that. Mania needs a selling point. They need a Hogan vs Andre. As much as they wanna feed us that the Miz is on the Today Show or Regis and Kelly or MTV2...He's not "the name" that can suck in the casual or even non fan like others can.

Miz & Del Rio aren't even worthy to headline Sunday Night Heat, let alone a WrestleMania. LOL.
