Im getting WAY better at making the cpu tap almost at will sometimes....................... In fact i did Sera vs GSP like 10 min ago and like a min into the 1st Sera tried to take me down i sprawled and immediately put him in a guillotine and made him tap. My thing is to work the body as much as you can without gassing them like in the clinch and knees to body on the ground and as SOON i see their stamina down i pounce on that right stick like a shark smelling blood and spin like there's no tomorrow ................. Works almost every time. I still hate the career mode though it makes me sick how long it takes to make your guy worthy of even competing on PPV and when you finally get there the cpu is basically unbeatable.............I was facing Chris Leben and this guy is ducking EVERY PUNCH stopping EVERY TAKEDOWN and reversing EVERYTHING in the clinch and then knocks me out with ONE FUKKIN PUNCH!! Its to the point where i dont even care about finishing it anymore i just do Event Mode, Exhibition and Tournament Mode ..........................................And its also crazy that this game has been out for weeks now and i still cant find a match online. Same here. Ive been looking for a ranked match since the day it came out and it keeps on saying "The game session is no longer available" smfh

How the do you get a fight to stop by cut? I've cut a guy with elbows and such to the point a jab would knock them out, then take them to the ground and pound on the cut with weak strikes, to the point the octagon looks like a slaughterhouse, for five ing rounds, and I can't get a fight stopped for a cut. I've ing murdered guys like James McSweeney with Brock Lesnar, just destroyed their faces, and the doctors don't even get involved. I've only had a doctor CHECK a cut once, and never had a fight stopped. what's the trick? Hooks. Seriously, I hit Rashad with hooks from Rampage and mother er was bleeding bad! Round 2 the doctor stoped it. I never tried elbows because I never wanted to end a fight that wya but just try standing and hitting light hooks. I want the fight to end that way because it's an achievement to get a fight stopped for cut, and there's a second achievement for winning by decision, KO, TKO, submission, and cut and cut is the only thing I still need

Had a great day today playing this game. Did a lot of fights with a variety of different fighters. Awesome fight as Kendall Grove against Anderson Silva by knocking out Silva with a sweet head kick. Used GSP to beat Koscheck. Beat Rampage with Rashad, beat Wanderlei with Thiago Silva. Tough loss to Mir while using Coleman, he made me submit but I did end up knocking him out in a rematch. Applying submissions is still not working but I'm getting much better at getting out of them. I'll have to try the strategy of using shots to the body then putting people in submissions. Also I've never had a fight stopped by a cut either.. So all and all a great day of fights so I'll be looking forward to playing this game more and more very soon..

A flash KO is a one punch, out of nowhere knock out, where neither fighter is hurt. I personally got it when Anderson Silva, mainly because I sway and duck like a mofo, and just counter punch. I basically had a re-play of the Silva vs Griffin. He tries for a two punch combo, I sway back just out of harms way, hit him square in the jaw with a right jab and he was out.

Am I the only one who is very confused by career mode? Feels more like an RPG with a few fights here and there.

I bought the Stratagy Guide for 5 bucks last night, and haven't made it to the Career Mode part, but it does look like it has a great deal of tips for actually building your fighter up and keeping him that way. So as soon as I have more info, I'll post it.
However, it does give much more info on some of the newer or improved things. Also has a nice little section on each figher, including the exclusive ones, as far as how to play with them and how to beat them. They are pretty spot on too with their tips.

I've just started career mode and I'm already tired of micromanaging every little thing, while my stats rapidly decay in the process. I'll just stick to the other modes.

I'm always one week away from a stat losing a point. . . . to the point where you're almost forced to put one point in each category in order to stop decay from happening.

As much as I love playing as Shogun, after finally getting down reversing ground grapples, I went on an all Anderson Silva rampage last night. It's fun as hell counter punching, taunting, counter clinching into throws or into knees to the face, then pulling them into guard, reversing them, and laying the smack down.

I have played career a lot and the best way I have figured to keep stats from decaying is to at first add atleast one point to all stats between fights untill you get all points to 30. Once you get to 30 work a few at a time and get them to 50 before working on any of the others. Basically getting the stats to where they don't decay and then working on other parts of my game. As long as you upgrade you sparring partner in one of your first chances you should be able to get your stats to 50 without a problem. I usually pick about 6 stat items to focus on at a time after getting to 30 and try to add to them each time after I spar and add more points to the ones I use the most. Once I get one to 50 I just pick another stat item to start adding to.

I thought I would pass on for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but THQ has finally given a definite answer on how you unlock camp logos in career mode:
Visit a camp over 25 times to unlock their logo. That's all you have to do.

A helpful hint when "Free Sparring" -
Instead of trading shots, use your movement to sway away from them. When you get the chance, counter a shot with a takedown. Once you are on the ground, use the right stick to maintain control, and reverse any transitions. Reversals are worth the most points, and if you are on the ground the entire time, the other figher has not way to really get any points. Don't bother punching or kneeing, as those only count as one individual point.
Stick with the transitions, but more importantly the reversals, and you should be able to bank about 100 to 450 points depending on your difficulty.

Does anyone else hate it in Career mode, before you go to a fight, it says "Would you like to see the weigh ins". I never want to, but I ALWAYS figure it's asking me if I want to do the match.
Sitting through these screens over and over is just annoying. Not only that, but Joe Rogan with the 'after fight comments' gets annoying as well. "There was a lot of Torque in that punch!". GAHH!

Anyway, the reversals are still just tapping the left analog to the side when you see your opponent try to transition, right?

Yes, that is how you do a reversal for the grapple. Holding it blocks the transition and flicking it reverses it. Only left or right though, regardless of the position.
As for the 100 points, it also depends not just on the difficulty, but also your sparring partner and skill level. Higher skills and better sparring partners get you more sparring points. However, the higher skill level and sparring partner means more fatigue.
There's a good little hint section that tells you when is a good time to do certain features, and when to mix it up. I'll try to take a picture or just jot down the tips as I'm at work right now.

I actually got the flash KO achievement. It was at the beginning of the second round I think, just threw an upper cut against Chuck (ironic) and he was out cold.

^ Very Ironic. Who were you playing as? Not that it matters for the achievement, just curious.
