^ I thought the same, apparently that is Arcade mode. If you choose the SIM-mode it keeps the same fighter. It IS annoying that you cant choose the other fighters in the tournament.
One thing I love about the game is being able to see Com vs. Com fights. I love making an event, playing half of the matches and watching the other half. It's fun to watch some wars

^Yeah I like watching Com vs Com too. So far I've watched or played with everyone in the game at least once. I plan to do 16 man tournaments for each division to setup my future Event mode cards. Then whoever wins will be the number one contenders for each title and then I'll make a top ten ranking. But first I need to train for the fights, I've already wrote down who will face who in the first rounds.

I'm getting better at escaping submissions today. Surprisingly since I hadn't played the game for about a week. Then my final 2 fights I got tapped out by Tyson Griffin while playing as Clay Guida. Go figure.

I really like tournament mode in this game. I had a 16-man tournament in the middleweight division last night on advanced difficulty and won the tournament. I tried to seed the guys as close to a current ranking as I could think of and put my CAF as the 16th seed and faced Anderson Silva in the first round. It was a back a forth fight untill I caught him with a few punches and ended the fight late in the first round. Next, I fought Yushin Okami which was tough because he kept taking me down, but I in the third round I caught him with a few shots and he started trading back with me and I hit him with a left hook at the same time he hit me with a jab. My head rocked back but he was out and I had won, at first I wasn't sure who had won as we were both throwing punches and then their was a knockout and it took me a second to make sure it wasn't be out. I beat Nate Marquardt next and then Wanderlei Silva in the finals with both fights being mostly stand up wars with me getting the win by KO or TKO.

^Very awesome. I played the game most of the day today. Picked up my 100th win and I have just 31 loses so far. Playing as a lot of different fighters, me as Bisping vs Belfort was an entertaining fight as was me as Hardy vs Parisyan. In both I got rocked a few times but came back and KO'd them. I came out of being rocked and nailed Belfort with the KO uppercut.

Still having a ball playing, but I do have to say one thing. I read an article today from THQ about how they were disappointed at the sales of UFC 2010. With all due respect, how you let the game get released with such issues is astounding to me. And the fact that you've yet to release any type of fix, and then complain about the sales not being good enough, just boggles my mind.

You're pretty much right there, Sean. I mean, to me the issues are VERY obvious and noticeable. You would think it'd be easy to fix.

I experienced my first issue with the Clinch last night, as my friend Brandon and myself were clinched up, and all of a sudden my left arm is literally inside his head. The character models jiggled a little and then it was back to normal.
There's a game shop going out of business near by that I might stop buy and pick up the UFC 2010 guide for 3 bucks. I want to see if there's any additional info on Career mode, because I can't for the life of my get my figher to actually keep his stats up, and I don't have internet so I can't go online and do any camps.
I should have internet within a month, but it shouldn't be "impossible" to just do career mode by myself. I should be pentalized for playing a game not online.

Hopefully they patch some of these issues soon. I haven't touched the game since I got it on release just because of other games I plan on completing, but a lot of these things I hear about are turning me off from playing it.

Honestly, I've just been playing Title Defense Mode and creating different events. It's more then worth the price in my opinion. Do I hope they send out a fix sometime soon? Of course, because then I'll have even more value. But right now the issues I've ran into are either not effective towards how I play or have only happened like once or twice.
Once those issues become more constant, then I'll start getting pissed.

Only problems I've had is the inability to make someone tap out and once I knocked out a guy without hitting him(I missed with a punch and he still fell over as if getting hit by it). I mostly just stick to exhibitions and creating events. The game was well worth it and is quite enjoyable still. I don't really plan to play career mode, I would rather use current fighters anyway. So I don't understand where all the fuss about this game being broken and such comes from..

I'm just so tired of not being able to tap out the computer...it really doesn't make the game realistic if no matter what I do, I can't tap someone out. I charge all the time, i don't know if i just have poor timing, or what

I can get them to tap out in Practice Mode--with no health recovery and the opponent set to computer--but if I'm in an actual fight, it's just not gonna happen.

How the do you get a fight to stop by cut? I've cut a guy with elbows and such to the point a jab would knock them out, then take them to the ground and pound on the cut with weak strikes, to the point the octagon looks like a slaughterhouse, for five ing rounds, and I can't get a fight stopped for a cut. I've ing murdered guys like James McSweeney with Brock Lesnar, just destroyed their faces, and the doctors don't even get involved. I've only had a doctor CHECK a cut once, and never had a fight stopped. what's the trick?

Round 2 the doctor stoped it. I never tried elbows because I never wanted to end a fight that wya but just try standing and hitting light hooks.

Im getting WAY better at making the cpu tap almost at will sometimes....................... In fact i did Sera vs GSP like 10 min ago and like a min into the 1st Sera tried to take me down i sprawled and immediately put him in a guillotine and made him tap. My thing is to work the body as much as you can without gassing them like in the clinch and knees to body on the ground and as SOON i see their stamina down i pounce on that right stick like a shark smelling blood and spin like there's no tomorrow ................. Works almost every time. I still hate the career mode though it makes me sick how long it takes to make your guy worthy of even competing on PPV and when you finally get there the cpu is basically unbeatable.............I was facing Chris Leben and this guy is ducking EVERY PUNCH stopping EVERY TAKEDOWN and reversing EVERYTHING in the clinch and then knocks me out with ONE FUKKIN PUNCH!! Its to the point where i dont even care about finishing it anymore i just do Event Mode, Exhibition and Tournament Mode ..........................................And its also crazy that this game has been out for weeks now and i still cant find a match online.
