Well the pattern of odd-number years' games being underwhelming continues I suppose. SvR 2007 was great, 08 was meh, 09 was great, 10 was meh, 11 was great, 12 was okay, 13 was great, and 2K14 seems to be meh.
Some fancy smoke and mirrors but down to the nitty gritty it's just WWE '13 with less of a roster and some updates. How can one claim it's the "most complete roster of all-time" when two guys who were announced to compete at the biggest event of the year, literally during the weeks in which the roster cut was due, not be on the default roster? I can understand Axel and RVD and the Wyatts not in because they came much later (which I'm also expecting Axel and Mr Perfect to be in the same DLC release). Big E was due to compete in a match at Wrestlemania and Fandango was due to compete in a match at Wrestlemania and IIRC their matches were confirmed in March, within probably a week of each other. Even if the cutoff was March 1, Big E was still in a serious role as Zigglypuff's heavy and Fandango was featured in a segment every week. There's no excuse there.
I feel weird ranting about two guys not being in a video game (even though they're all but guaranteed to be in as DLC), but the modern roster is as underwhelming as they come. And although the big selling point is the Wrestlemania mode, the game doesn't feel too much like "WWE 2014" as the title suggests. It feels more like "History of WWE w/ bonus 2014 superstars." Both SvR 2009 and even WWE '13 did a good job of completing the modern roster, and both did a great job of incorporating legends (although SvR 09's way was a little more impractical, with the LoWM crossover). This game feels 75% legends, 25% modern guys, when it should be closer to 50/50.
And Aubrey is brave having the testicular fortitude to be sarcastic with people on Twitter for asking for more entrances. Do the math, jackass.

Bossman's hanging at WM XV legit scared me. How they did that without killing him is beyond me.
IIRC Foley falling through the cell at NWO 2000 wasn't intended to happen.

Wow, really underwhelming. "Best roster ever" you are not.

One nitpicky thing I have about the Edge/Del Rio screenshot is the crowd lighting is red, when WM 27 had a light arena with a blue tint on the crowd.
I'm really excited to get into this mode and I can't wait to see all the arenas. I'm not too picky about the accuracy of the attires (although Edge should've just had a Superstar Threads recolor of WM 27 on his WM XXVI model) and the arenas look really great as far as I can tell (except the aforementioned 27 lighting and WM 21, which had the crowd behind the stage). I like the match choices but a couple match snubs that I would've liked in:
Batista-Triple H (WM 21--arguably bigger than Cena/JBL and the main event, both guys are in so unless they didn't want to recreate the Motorhead concert idk why it's not in) Edge-Undertaker (WM XXIV--again a main event, probably due to La Familia interference and Edge's attire, both of which can easily be added)
Also, I know it's not going to happen because we've seen one match already, but I'd be all for cinematic cutscenes for the entrances. I know it'd take longer to create, but it would add a more authentic feel to the mode, seeing as how a TON of these matches had guys with special entrances.
EDIT: I also find it funny the section of the game titled "The Hulkamania Era" doesn't start with Hulk Hogan.

Ugh you only let us choose one. My top choice is Kaitlyn but I'd take any of them (aside from that guy Tamina).

So by revealing it through Bleacher Report I'm just gonna assume anything they announce is false information?

If the past 3 years have shown us anything, it's that WWE has no direction for a June PPV (Fatal 4-Way, Capitol Punishment, No Way Out, and Payback). The King of the Ring would be an ideal staple for a June PPV and the added stipulation of the winner challenging for a World Title at Summerslam would give a nice, meaningful championship program in the summer.
A brand split would be nice, but it still couldn't make stars shine on the lower card. You'd have to bring back brand-specific PPVs to make anything meaningful out of the lower card, but those shows were usually top-heavy and lackluster.

This is the guy's punishment for having years and years without the injury bug.

First of all I'm surprised you didn't italicize "Raw" and "SmackDown" in your second post. Second, YOU'RE THE SAME PERSON WHO SAID CODY WOULD GET LEGITIMATELY LET GO AFTER JOBBING TO HORNSWOGGLE.

Hope Henry's alright. But getting injured is what he do. Why exactly are you naming Christian? Probably because he's always getting injured and looks 300 years old.I'm sorry, but THIS looks like a 300-year-old man?!?

If AJ ends up as a face I would welcome an AJ/Kaitlyn vs. Total Divas feud.

Sly Cooper - Thieves in Time is really good, but unless you're into the Sly series (or unless you buy the HD collection on the PS3) it'd be best to pass.

Im sorry but isnt it a little sad that nba 2k has already revealed most of the major parts of the game and we dont even know the full roster yet To be fair, NBA 2K14 comes out four weeks before WWE 2K14. And also, it's not like they have to reveal the roster for an NBA game, we know what teams are gonna be in regardless. That would give them more time to reveal major parts of the game (which, in a sense we got with WWE 2K14).

I forgot Miz actually won one of these things, and I was about to ask what constituted him hosting this DVD. This might be a rare instance I buy the Blu-Ray because of the cash-in matches.

Edge's book was also a pretty good read. I've only read that, Jericho's second and Hardcore Diaries.

I havent read Jerichos books but yeah this thread has convinced me. which book covers his late WCW/WWF time most? The second book covers from his WWF debut to his 2007 return...I didn't read his first but I'd reckon it goes from his beginnings to the end of his WCW run. Both are worth the buy anyway.

Ah, the diaper driver...what a maneuver [/Vince].
How he was able to make it look that rough without crippling anyone is fascinating.
