I was just watching an Eddie Guerrero video, and it just hit me. He is really gone...he will never be here on Earth again...and it just made me think that all wrestler will eventually die, and it really brought my spirit down. I seriously could not imagine Jeff Hardy dying. He is my idol, and has been since I was 6...
When did it really hit you that a certain wrestler has passed? Mainly Eddie, could be Benoit, or Owen, or anyone that really made your spirits drop?

For me, when I heard of the news it hit me honestly. After hearing the news of stuff like Benoit or Eddie you can't act like it's the same.
It's just harder to accept that they really are no longer existing on earth cuz the fans don't get closure like the closer friends and loved ones do by going to a funeral or seeing the symbolic remains.
I try not to get too sad about it but the Benoit thing bugs me. In a selfish way it sucks because when I watch his matches now and see him take a shot to the head or something it's always in the back of your mind. I feel guilty for getting entertainment and pleasure out of his downfall and his family.

IDK why, but TBH Eddies death didn't bother me to where i cried. I cried when Benoit, Owen, Gary Hart, Candido, and Stevie Lee died, but no one else.

For me it was Eddie too. Owen died when I as in the 7th grade, sad but I wasn't as into wrestling back then. Eddie was just all around entertaining and had great charisma, it was hard not to love him.

Everyone reacts differently to death. At the time I heard they had gone I was shocked more than anything, these guys put their bodies on the line every night and get away with and then suddenly theyre gone.
Eddie and Benoits hit home the most, I wasnt a massive fan at the time of Owens death, and it was upsetting at the time, but I adjusted to it and moved on. Id still be able to watch a match of benoit's or Eddies without feeling saddened because the respect for what they did for so long will always be there.

Its never bothered me really. So what Eddie is dead. He never changed my life. So he'll never wrestle in a ring again. Neither will Magnum TA. Thats the only way I knew either. Its not like we were best buds outside of the ring. Ive never cried from a professional athletes death and never will. Only deaths that effect me are family/friends and mass tragedies (9/11, Oklahoma City)

the one that hit me the hardest was probably Owen watching RAW is Owen. Eddie's was more shock, and it took a while to really sink in.

Memories of what these men/women acheived in their lifetimes should be what we hold onto as fans when a wrestlers dies .

Eddie's death really hit me bad. I remember watching his tribute video with Hurt playing as the song, I start crying. It was really sad. As for Owen, I wasnt a wrestling fan then so It didnt have an affect on me.

Ok, I'm sorry, Eddie and Benoit ruled, and both were very impactful, but nothing will ever compare to the death of Owen Hart for me.
Wrestling was always my life. I was in 7th grade at the time, and growing up Owen was always my favorite wrestler. Me and my dad would mark for Owen while he was against Bret, who my mom would be cheering for. Owen just always had "it." Such a good wrestler, he was my role model overall. Wrestling honestly was never the same after Owen died, and I just realized it was early Attitude era, which is perhaps why I disliked the Attitude era. That PPV didnt work for me, we ordered every PPV back then and when we ordered Over the Edge, we just got a black screen and the cable company couldn't fix it. When I heard the news in the morning, I was distraught. I couldn't believe it. And for like two weeks in school, other kids in school who were total "anti-bad guys" still stuck with gimmick, saying it's good he died cause he was an bunghole, blah blah blah, and everyone knew he was my favorite wrestler so I was continuously made fun of for it. It stopped eventually, when the wrestling fanbase died off a bit.
RIP Owen Hart, the best role model I've had.

Maybe it's because I am old, or maybe it's because I have lost close family members, but to be honest, no wrestler dying has ever made me cry, lose it, or freak out. I mean, I was sad when he died, I was sad when Benoit pulled the ultimate heel turn, and I was sad when one of my all-time favorites Hawk died. But it didn't impact me emotionally enough to lose any sleep over, and I have been watching for almost 30 years.

I don't believe Eddie's death will ever sink in for me, that guy is one of my favourites of all-time. I can't watch his Hall Of Fame video package or the Here Without You tribute without tearing up.

I cried for Eddie, Benoit, Pillman, Owen and Flair (I know he's not dead, just the fact that he will never wrestle again).
