flair and dusty were the best performers. Dusty got all his love down south. He could never draw in the north east. The idea of the "common man" didnt get over at all up north. In the South, during the 80s, you were talking about someone people could relate to. B/c he was primariliy there, he represented someone those folks could really attach themselves too. Dusty Rhodes could cut promos. He could work for a man of his size. And made a great folk hero for 80's southern people. But in overall scheme of things, Dusty Rhodes was extremely over rated. He is not in the class of a Ric Flair or Harley Race. Those are 2 guys that could draw anywhere in the country and internationally.

everybody has different opinions on whats considered what so thats opinion. yeah but its pretty much fact because you can just see that when you watch because they stay in the ring, use lots of technical moves and submissions, and mat wrestling skills. people like Shawn, Rock, and Austin are perfomers because they go all over, and tech and subs and are not used for the most part. mostly signature moves, innovative moves and stuff. "wrestler" is pretty much the general term used for anyone in pro wrestling, but then its like split into classes like wrestler, perfomer high flyers (Londrick, Hardy, etc.), mixes (perfomer/high flyer like shelton benjamin) and more. thats why in matches like Austin vs. Angle or HBK vs. Angle, if it were a mat wrestling match, Angle would make them look like a fool, just like Regal did to Goldberg in WCW which got him fired. but HBK/Angle and Angle/Austin are so good because you got a mix of both. its hard to explain, cuz most people just know what im talking about (no offense) but its really just going back to what i said, HBK cant be compared to people like Steamboat and Rhodes because maybe they had the same job, but they did their jobs in different ways.

Ric Flair > Shawn Michaels > the rest of the world
Seriously, there's never gonna be another Ric Flair, and there's never gonna be another Shawn Michaels. When you throw everything needed in the business together, separate it, and mix it with some flavoring into two martinis, you get Flair in one glass and Shawn in the other.

It never fails to amaze me how people over-rate the "old guys". Ric Flair and the likes are legends in the industry yes...but the best workers?? No way!
Shawn Michaels in his prime was a bigger draw than Taker & Flair put together. The problem seems to be with peoples personal opinions of him...sure,he was a complete a**hole back then, but in ring he always put on 1 hell of a show.
As someone has already said...they arent in the same league...HBK is in a league of his own.
Most of the Undertakers "classic" matches are great purely because of the calibre of his opponent,ie Bret Hart,HBK,Mick Foley etc. Im not saying the Undertaker wasnt any good, but it takes 2 guys to put on a classic match,1 guy cant do it on his own.
