Does anybody else get the feeling that WWE is purposely not using Sting? WWE signed him at age 55 last July. It took 4 months before he was even seen on WWE television, and 9 months before he had an official match. Now, with word coming out that WWE had plans for Sting at SummerSlam, and he got himself into "ridiculously good shape" only to be told that the plans were scrapped.....what is the logic behind this? He's now 56 years old. His window is closing. I think the WWE is purposely not using and he's just getting older and older until the point where he's not even going to be able to leave and go someplace else. I think this is a just a big " YOU" by the WWE to Sting as revenge for turning them down for 14 years and now they've got him signed and they refuse to use him, and he contractually can't wrestle anywhere else....so he's basically being held hostage by WWE while he just keeps getting older and older and his window to ever step in the ring again gets smaller and smaller. You've got the biggest PPV of the summer, it just got expanded to 4 hours. 3 weeks away and so far only ONE match has been officially announced.....I don't understand why they would not want to showcase Sting?

Seems like that would be a huge waste of money. I'm sure they had plans but as we all know, plans change daily in WWE. And Sting at 56 is just not that high of a priority. I'm sure we will see him again soon.

I'm starting to think thats what they're doing, Wrestlemania was definitely a you to Sting, but the fact they haven't used him since, they probably could get a few more matches a year out of him than taker, maybe the big 4 but to sign him for 1 match just to say he's been in wwe ....whats the point.

I'm assuming they don't know what to do with him.

I read they wanted him to give Reigns the rub in NYC. Maybe they got worried having him there could lead to fans cheering for him and booing Reigns.
Who knows?

I'm assuming they don't know what to do with him. Exactly this; the OP needs to stop being all Sting this and Sting that and realise that what comes first is the FUTURE, and even after that, to get Sting a match you need to have someone for him. Sting is a big name, so he cant just face some midcarder, so that narrows things down already. Then you have the fact that it needs to be someone that makes sense story-wise, so again that narrows people down, especially going into SS. THENNNN you need to think about who can lose; Sting needs to win his next match, no question, so there needs to be someone that can lose a high profile match and not suffer too badly from it. Bray would make sense, but he's been in a feud with Reigns for nearly 2 months now so obviously he cant do that, adding Sting into that match would have maybe made sense, but it still would have been random and seemed slap-dash tbh. Not to mention, in the very end its all about whether Sting wants to wrestle or not; he's an old dude and a smart one, he knows if he can wrestle or not, he's not getting any younger, and if he wants to have a good match, it'll take longer to rest/recover/train inbetween matches. I am more than sure WWE would use him if they had the right scenario; but they most likely dont at this juncture, so why try and showhorn a legend onto a card just to appease a small amount of the audience? Now if the night after SS we see him call out Bray, then that would make sense and you can boost the buys/eyes on the next PPV which isn't as marketable by name as SummerSham is, but you bring in a dude with Sting and that automatically means something. I really do still see Sting and Taker happening at Mania though, I think it'd be a great way to just end both guys' career in a match everyone has clambered for for near 20 years come that time

I don't understand why WWE signs big name superstars and doesn't take advantage of them being there.

It's kind of ironic that Sting never signed with WWE all those years - even when WCW was around - because he was scared that the WWE wouldn't know what to do with him or how to use him......
Well it happened.
I wonder if the Stinger regrets signing with the WWE now?? It benefited us fans who got two Sting DVDs/Blu Rays out of the deal (one last year, one come October) but it seems his worse fear of the WWE not knowing what to do with him has actually happened.

Not too bother by it. I don't want to see him go over younger talent and there's no point in him losing all the time.

I hope these new reports are a work and he is inserted into the Wyatt /roman feud.
They have no reason to treat him so poorly. It's a shame.

it does seem like there's a conspiracy against him, but if i had to bet the farm i'd say it's just pure lack of competence with wwe's creative and the company direction overall.

Sting should never have gone to wwe, they are treating him like a bum and he deserves way better.
His wrestlemania match was a waste of time.

Seems like a huge missed opportunity if they don't use Sting at SummerSlam.

Oh people shut up, come on - do you not understand how old he is?! Do you not understand just how much money he is making from this deal and the sale of his merch?!
If this was 2001 then fine, I would understand the complaints, but its not, Sting isn't a main eventer - he's a special attraction now, he's not being under used, they are protecting him till they have something solid for him to do and again, who here knows for sure that Sting even WANTS to be wrestling as often as you guys want?!
Come on; he's making major money, in THE company finally and now his name is even more widespread. You want to watch Sting in his prime, hit the Network; same goes for Taker, Triple H, Michaels, Austin, Rock, Hogan, and so may others.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he is 56. Nope not a thing.
