I'm pretty sure Sting gets a fat paycheck for not being used.

Has anyone thought that he didn't wanna wrestle? Maybe he's completely content not wrestling and just doing media and doing autograph signings and etc.....
Even if they did have plans, maybe sting isn't mad and simply ok with it that it got called off? Everyone's just mad they personally just wanted to see sting and now that it's not happening there's theories that he's being held "hostage" and what not lol. Like you said the man is 56 I'm sure he's not mad that plans got called off if there any, maybe disappointed but the media and signings in sure keeps him content.

Hopefully they'll keep it that way.

He's one of my favorites. I'll watch any match he's in. It's the ing Stinger.

Hopefully they give him a good storyline for his next match. I still think his Wrestlemania match with Triple H was stupid, why are you going to shake hands with a guy who hit you in the face with a sledgehammer? It's was so illogical.

If Sting wanted to wrestle somewhere else, where would be go? TNA can't afford him anymore. If they couldn't afford Austin Aries, then Sting is certainly out of the question. Even if they could afford him, the only interesting thing they could do is put him in a program with Ethan Carter, which we've already seen.
Could ROH afford him? Doubtful. But even if they could, what would they do with him? It would be such a huge step down.
The only two promotions that would be viable are AAA -- which would be weird because it would be the most random thing ever -- or New Japan. AAA I'm sure would jump at the chance to sign a 56 year old man, but would NJPW?
His best bet is to stay the course. I'm surprised that anyone is surprised by this whole mess tbh. If you weren't expecting WWE to completely mishandle Sting, then you must have missed the Invasion angle.

I couldnt care less about Sting at this stage in his career. His match sucked at WM like I knew it would and ive no interest in seeing any more of him.

Could it be Sting was a WCW wrestler and the WWE still feels the need to "win" the war? You don't want to put a 56 year old Legend from WCW in the ring to get a better pop than your star that is struggling to get over which oddly describes most of the WWE main eventers right now.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit if the rumors are false or a work. And he shows up previous to, or at SS.

I'm sure Sting could care less about actually wrestling anymore. Dude is making boatloads of cash from merchandise and autograph appearances.

You're totally right. Nothing says "screw you!" like paying someone to do nothing.

The only thing I see Sting doing at Summerslam is showing up at the main event and giving the undertaker a stare down and we get a match at WM.

On one hand: Would you really be shocked if the WWE couldn't figure out how best to use a wrestler? Hell, they don't have solid programs for most of the roster as it is.
On the other hand: Sting is 56 now. Regardless of how good a shape he is in, there's danger there. Would you want to take a chance on Sting blowing out his knee or his back in a Smackdown match against Fandango? Now, I'm not saying I want to see him get hurt or anything...but if he's going balls to the wall against a top competitor at a Big 4 PPV and he gets hurt, that's one thing.

It's too risky to your body

Plus a person like Iron Sheik who needs a double knee replacement shouldn't have a match regardless of having the surgery or not.

I'm thinking (hoping) they just decided to use him at Survivor Series, instead....
They ought to build up a "Mystery Partner" Survivor Series situation..... those things are always a letdown, due to wild speculation - Sting as a "mystery partner" would actually be a good surprise.
I don't see WWE doing something that cool in 2015 though.

I'm assuming they don't know what to do with him. Exactly this; the OP needs to stop being all Sting this and Sting that and realise that what comes first is the FUTURE, and even after that, to get Sting a match you need to have someone for him. Sting is a big name, so he cant just face some midcarder, so that narrows things down already. Then you have the fact that it needs to be someone that makes sense story-wise, so again that narrows people down, especially going into SS. THENNNN you need to think about who can lose; Sting needs to win his next match, no question, so there needs to be someone that can lose a high profile match and not suffer too badly from it. Bray would make sense, but he's been in a feud with Reigns for nearly 2 months now so obviously he cant do that, adding Sting into that match would have maybe made sense, but it still would have been random and seemed slap-dash tbh. Not to mention, in the very end its all about whether Sting wants to wrestle or not; he's an old dude and a smart one, he knows if he can wrestle or not, he's not getting any younger, and if he wants to have a good match, it'll take longer to rest/recover/train inbetween matches. I am more than sure WWE would use him if they had the right scenario; but they most likely dont at this juncture, so why try and showhorn a legend onto a card just to appease a small amount of the audience? Now if the night after SS we see him call out Bray, then that would make sense and you can boost the buys/eyes on the next PPV which isn't as marketable by name as SummerSham is, but you bring in a dude with Sting and that automatically means something. I really do still see Sting and Taker happening at Mania though, I think it'd be a great way to just end both guys' career in a match everyone has clambered for for near 20 years come that time It's an angle done before, but I think if they would've announced it as a 3 man tag team match this week, that would've sent Reigns/Ambrose and Wyatt/Harper searching for new teammates. Wyatts can add Leo Kruger or whoever they please, but say Reigns/Ambrose's partners keep getting attacked and beaten up. Going into the event, they have no partner, then Sting comes out to a huge pop. Bang. Although the Wyatt's lose, but at least the story makes some sense. And I bet if Sting was flying in for this match WWE would want to promote it
