They should take pride in the fact it's gone on so many years.
I know the word has been used a lot in this thread, but "dumb" seems really fitting here.

I honestly don't see what the big deal is. The sky's going to fall and the world's going to end, that's what the big deal is. Just like the sky fell and the world ended when WrestleMania 16 didn't have WrestleMania 16 on the banners and poster. Either that or people who love to complain will clutch at any meaningless complaint straw.

Anyone with sense can see that. What a lot of people are saying is the reasoning behind it is pretty stupid, which it is. Because we're allowed to say "Hey, that thing that Vince McMahon said is kind of crazy. The idea itself is fine, but the thought that people would think WrestleMania is old is odd." You know?

It will still be known as Wrestlemania 31, 32 and so on.
It will be like Wrestlemania 29. They never used a number for that, just "NJ/NY" instead of a number.

Wrestlemania was in 1985. Whatever they made a joke out of it with WM2000 and 25th anniversary too. It could be worse, they could have scrapped the name and logo altogether. Vince is always on his 'it's not wrestling it's sports entertainment' kick and yet his premier event is called Wrestlemania, you'd think it was in peril too. The kind of silliness that reminds me of the alternate WWE title redesigns. You're right, and those belt designs were absolutely horrendous. Seriously....the spinner belt looks modest compared to those. Maybe the designer thought the belt was supposed to be on the front of a low rider.....

I must be in the minority or everyone is so riled up against the WWE after the Rumble it was just bad timing.
A long time fan and I have no problem with this. 31, 32,etc will still be 31 and 32; it sounds like they just wont promote it as Wrestlemania 32 but simply Wrestlemania. Which makes sense; the super bowl and UFC have put less emphasis on the numbering and do just fine. When Wrestlemania gets to a milestone landmark Im sure they'll use the numbers again for promotion. Its not like Wrestlemania hasnt skewed away from numbers in promotions in the past. Look at the logos for 14, 2000, 17 & 18 were part roman numeral part digit for some reason which looked kinda stupid.
Wrestlemania 43 looks goofy as would WM XLIII, so WrestleMania is fine as is each year. We'll know the difference and the number but im okay with them not promoting the numbers. They want to attract casual and new fans with WM.

Eh, it'll always be Wrestlemania 31, 32, 33, etc. to me, so it doesn't matter if they don't brand it by numbers. The reason behind the change though is pretty ridiculous and further shows why Vince has lost it (or was under the same drug he was on in '95)

He's some 30 some year old that takes enjoyment in being a dick to people half his age - he's really not worth the time and he knows it. It's pathetic. Same goes for any and all posters who do the whole 'lol at the fans for being crybabies suck it up'...can you even imagine how negative they and their lives must be to find enjoyment in mocking and condescending others.

so ing stupid. what happened to the legacy and heritage of WrestleMania. WWE can go themselves. Just another reason to cancel the network. You're totally right, first roman numerals and now they're getting rid of numbers altogether? HOW DARE THEY?!? I'm going to cancel ALL my WWE subscriptions...

I just don't get why anyone would waste their time with it. There's a huge difference in an opinion and debate and just being condescending and having a "holier than thou" attitude. Oh well.

I honestly think you can make well thought out and intelligent posts. However, your attitude is horrible. If you drop the condescending stuff, people would take you more seriously but until then I won't at least. I'm not sure what Jeff has to do with this but I'm okay with it.

I honestly think you can make well thought out and intelligent posts. Then there's hope for you yet. Again, you can go about better ways of conveying your opinion.
