I've got a few more pieces to get to. I'm gonna try and reply to everyone this go round, 'cause it seems like once again feedback is slipping and that's a major f*ckin' bumout. It may not hold a lick of truth, but it gives the outward impression that everyone's just focusing on their own sh*t and writing for number one. Kinda makes for a weak fed. I always wished the newer guys would read and reply more often. Yeah is vets need to recognize the hard work of others, but even if the new guys have nothing they can tell us guys to do better, they can still say what they liked and disliked and help us grow too while they learn from our pieces. Maybe that's just too idealistic of me though.

I just typed out a long arsed message on here but then my computer crashed and I lost it. Here's the short version. I've not read any RPs yet. Will read/reply/vote on results tonight/tomorrow. I've already got Trace's votes and he is now away until middle of next week, he's back for a day or two then he's away again so results and probably next card are on me. I'm hoping to have results for Men & Monsters up on Saturday night. No card will follow as the next show is Shawn's Halloween show. I implore people to sign up for that show as it's a chance to experiment with your writing, especially the newer guys. Some people have been asking about show schedule going forward so here it is: Men & Monsters (Results up on Sat) Halloween Show (Doesn't effect story lines etc) TV Show (It's the go home so people should be going big with regards to segs etc to hype the PPV) The Clash PPV Currently the matches 100% set in stone for the PPV are: World Heavyweight Championship Drakz vs. Trace Demon International Championship (Falls Count Anywhere) Joe Bishop vs. Dave Demento Death Match Joshua Dean vs. Yukio Blaze Tag Team Championship KKK (Tugarin Zmey & Samael Ahriman) vs. Hollywood Unhinged (Jayson Garrett & Chase Landon) Anyone else wanting a particular match on the PPV should message me and let me know. We'll try and work something out so that we can garner some heat for it on the go home TV show.

Maybe that's just too idealistic of me though. New and old. It'd be way to easy to have a good run, assume you know all there is to know about this thing, and let it sweep you away until your stuff just sucks. It's happened to me, it's happened to a couple of guys this year alone, and the thing we all had in common was the fact that we could be considered "tenured". Maybe it leads to me rubbing people the wrong way, but when I can, I strive to find an opportunity for improvement whenever I comment on someone's work. The only ones I don't think I did that on this week were Kyzer's and Bishop's. From the very top of the crop to the very bottom of the barrel, there's no way anyone can convince me that anyone here is completely void of any room for improvement. Otherwise, why keep going? You said your piece, it was perfect. Where's the motivation to top it? Next on the docket - J. Dean and S. Ahriman.

Maybe that's just too idealistic of me though. You and I and a large proportion of the other guys who have been around for longer are a much larger part of the problem. It's nice when people who are relatively new to this feel confident enough to reply to other peoples' RPs but it shouldn't be on them. I didn't feel anywhere near confident enough to reply to other peoples work (certainly the upper echelons) for the first few years after I signed up, and while that's a shame I think it's understandable. I realise there's time related reasons a lot of people don't give a lot of feedback (during term time, I'm basically not writing any matches and I'll only get time to reply to one or two roleplays a show), but you can't then go and complain about anyone else not doing it. You can count the people who give enough feedback to complain about the situation on one hand. To be fair though, it's so much better than it was a year and half ago (think it was about then), when for a brief period Mike was basically the only person giving any regular feedback.

Since taking charge again here (besides the show when I was on holiday) I've replied to every RP with a pretty sizeable amount of critique in the hope that others will do the same.
Lead by example etc

Last couple shows I've been laxed. Soon as I get you the match Drakz, I'll be getting on some feedbacks myself.

I REALLY want the new guys in on this. Like you said this is THE best way to test the waters in about as low stress an environment as you can possibly get. Please sign up guys. Let's just have some fun.

I've been here for about a year and I'm still learning. If I'm still learning I'm not sure how I can properly give advice and feedback to others. Because the advice I give could be completely wrong.
So if I don't give advice, replies from me would mainly be "I think it's good". And that doesn't help anyone.

As far as I'm concerned advice is totally subjective anyway. The best advice you can give someone if you don't feel confident going full critique is to simply tell them which bits you liked the most and which bits you didn't enjoy as much. If you can back that up with a reason why then you've already given the writer some serious food for thought.

I can tell you first hand the ass kicking Rev and Kyzer and you gave me when I joined made me want to quit. Y'all were brutal. Accurate (I sucked) but brutal. But it was comments from Reckless, Eagle and sh*t where they couldn't critique but could say what they liked and didn't like that made me stay and not get too disheartened by you bungholes. Maybe that was my biggest flaw as owner, coddling the young talent. Meh. It's in the past now.

Nah that was an asset because it allowed me to be R. Lee Ermey from Full Metal Jacket. The juxtaposition worked wonderfully. Love that movie. Feedback is a vital element to what we do, if for no other reason than just acknowledgement that someone read your stuff. It's nice to get the in depth reads like what Drakz and Brennan give. But even so much as a like/dislike reasoning works wonders. For my first run here back in the day, I got a lot out of E's and Mike's feedback because it was depth they would go into. But I also got a lot out of Calvin's feedback, because he would let me know what he liked/disliked and would provide me reasons that made sense. This run, Brennan and Drakz have been doing the same in depth stuff that really help guys get better. Once again, I've been laxed as sh*t lately and I need to fix that.

Feedback wise, I try to read just about anything, but I never really know what to critique. I still consider myself new and not very good at critiqueing yet. I'd point out what I thought worked well. Obviously though I'm grateful for all that do know what to, notably Ace when I first started and had no clue what to do, Shawn, Brennan, Dean recently has given me some great advice, Drakz, and Trace.
