Who's fighting? I say that sh*t clownin', dawg, c'mon, how f*cked up is you? (DISCLAIMER: ALSO A JOKE LOOK IT UP).
Man, I'm all proud of myself today. I beat a $50 ticket for blowing through the tollbooth on the Tobin Bridge a month before they went cashless, and I got to use the word "taint" today. Everything's comin' up Milhouse!!

Actually put some work in today. Have two more scenes I want to write and fine tune what I did today but it'll do well for a true "return" RP. Answers the basic question: why. And that's really all that matters. And I think I've introduced a nice little bit to the Sam RP that will prevent me from having the same problem I had the last time I ran with Sam, writing it too much like Malakai. Changed the setup, format and gave it a nice little twist I can't recall being done EXTENSIVELY in the past. Hope it works out. Kyzer will skin me if the finished product is sh*t. I'm scared.

I just shared an abbreviated version of this story in response to a call for folks who were in bands to describe their worst Spinal Tap moments. It's really definitive of the entire run with this band...
So when I was nineteen, a friend and I were super into nerdcore anything and really wanted to be part of it, so we started a punk band that sang about comic books. For what it's worth, we had a decent following and had a lot of fun and played many shows.
So out bassist winds up chatting with a promoter one day, and he's just re-opened this club that he assures us was a really hoppin' place in its hayday, and now that it's opened again, people are flocking to it from all over. He's already got two bands on board that we knew pretty well, and so he gets us signed on.
Now, it's important to understand here that we were a 100% DIY effort. We had three four-song EPs that we sold for like a buck a piece that we two tracked in our drummer's basement through my laptop, and that pretty much encompassed our roughly 35 minute max set.
So the week of the show, he promoter gets in touch and says that since we're the entertainment for the entire night, each band has two hours to fill. Panicked, we cobble together and emergency practice and just Rex Ryan our way through any and all covers that we mutually know, which, amongst the three of us, amounted to a bunch of Ramones and GG Allin songs. It's not pretty, but we're able to clock in about 20 minutes under 2 hours, and we figure we can fill the rest of the time tuning and bantering and sh*t.
Club is in this town called Saugus, on the north shore of Massachusetts, but it's not anywhere near where anyone might go for fun in Saugus. We're the last band to arrive, after dark, and the lot is EMPTY. One of the other bands helps us load in. They're set up, but they haven't bothered to even start, since no one but the bands and the owner, who is pissed that we're all underage and from out of town, and so we brought no crowd and no money with which to purchase copious amounts of alcohol is even there to play to.
Eventually, a friend of all the bands who pretty much gives every band in the southern NH, northern MA area their first few shows and is something of a local legend shows, and we all decide f*ck it - he came out, we all drove all this way, let's play and have fun.
First band who's already set up is a four piece with a frontman, so the big issue of the night doesn't even come up until we go to set up - this clown shoes of a club owner doesn't own any mic stands. We were a three piece, all three of us did vocals, and all three of us played instruments. Ultimately, we had to string the mics up from the overhead piping and have them sort of hang free, Michael Buffer style.
For what it's worth, we never bothered running out extended set. In fact, we abandoned the setlist entirely, swapped members with the other bands and ultimately just had one big long jam session until we all got bored and left.
Best part? As we're packing in, the owner comes out and tells us he's super sorry, but he doesn't think he made enough pull at the door to pay us. He then invites us back the next weekend.
Only just now thinking on it, I now work one town over from this place. I really need to take a detour this week and see exactly what sort of business is in its place, as I'm 100% certain it was never going to return to its glory days - if they ever existed at all.

My rp will be posted slightly after the deadline. I had finals in school and that took priority.

Main event gang have been granted a 24 hour extension. This only applies to them as Mike requested one and it only seems fair that we offer the same to the rest of the match competitors.
Deadline for matches and segs stays the same so anyone who has signed up for match writing duties please make sure you get them to me and Trace by tomorrow night as per the card info.

I want to apologize to my opponents and to Mikes, I won't be showing. I tried, and I just can't do it. I thought I could. But trying to write leaves me at the mercy of my own thoughts more than anything else, and I tried, but I can't do it now. Reading Shawn's RP struck a chord inside me as well, which as I've told him, isn't his fault, it just is what it is, and it made it even harder. I just can't.
I want to thank everyone who I've rped against, everyone who has shared kind or critiquing words on my writing, anyone who has chatted with me on or off of here, you guys have been great. I'm just at the point where I can't bring myself to write anymore, and I don't really have anything to add to this group and community anymore. I can say I'm proud of most of my 2014 comeback tour, as I feel it's the best writing I have ever put forth, in particular the Penny and Ace RPs.
Sorry to leave like this, and sorry again to all involved in the match this show, for wasting your times. If anyone wants to stay in touch in any form, feel free to find me on facebook, just tell me who it is if you add me, plenty of people here could let you know who I am on there.
Goodbye guys

Goodbye guys Well I think that's the first time my RP has depressed someone aside from myself for posting it. We talked for a bit, I get why you're going. Sucks, wanted that one last match against you but I know the reason why and not a soul could fault you for it. But as an honorary Canadian, we shall continue talking all things Molson, hockey, Tim Hortons and curling.

I dunno where you're at age wise Cam, but I hope eventually you can find your way through the sh*t to eventually come back and enjoy this as a hobby that won't transcend the screen and get you down on yourself. Real life is a b*tch and a half, man. I'd like to tell you it stops, but I think there's some sort of light in knowing that even if it doesn't, you find ways to cope.
You owe me a full tilt match. Don't forget it. Good luck.

I've got a few more pieces to get to. I'm gonna try and reply to everyone this go round, 'cause it seems like once again feedback is slipping and that's a major f*ckin' bumout. It may not hold a lick of truth, but it gives the outward impression that everyone's just focusing on their own sh*t and writing for number one. Kinda makes for a weak fed.
