Okay, so the idea of Sting vs Undertaker has been brought up several times on this site as something that fans would be dying to see. Obviously for nostalgic purposes to have WcW's loyal golden boy fight WWF/E's loyal dark prince would be an amazing spectacle. Even today, as both men age, they have proven that their in-ring work hasn't dropped too far. My question to you is simple: if you had to book any era of Sting to fight any era of Undertaker, which would you pick? I chose Surfer Sting from the early 1990s and Ministry Undertaker from 1999 (albeit despite lagging in-ring work). For the sake of not copying and pasting (and my pitiful plug to my blog), my reasons are stating in the photo here: Thoughts?

92' era surfer Sting vs 02' era "Big Evil" biker heel Undertaker.
To me that is when both were at their peaks. Taker was having his best matches and cutting the best promos. And what is not to love about early 90's Sting?

Im sorry, maybe Im in the minority but there's no version of Sting vs Undertaker that I would want to see that I could even remotely find entertaining. If Sting jumped ship in say 1995, he needed to be in the ring with guys like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. Even if he jumps later into his "Crow Gimmick" I would rather see him in matches with Steve Austin, The Rock or Triple H. Other then having long hair and wearing black, Ive never seen the crossover appeal between Sting & Taker.

Ugh. Really? Surfer Sting? ABA Undertaker? Why?
Obvious choice would be 1997 crow Sting vs. 1999 ministry Undertaker.

I just can't ever not pick Surfer Sting and debut Taker when I have a choice in the matter. It's the late 80's/early 90's fan in me

Crow Sting vs Ministry Undertaker
BUT appearance wise it must be The Crow Sting from Starrcade 97(and shortly afterward)I didnt like the wardrobe changes they made to Sting after that.
ideally Stings workrate would be that of 90-94 and Undertakers 2006-2009.

I'd like crow sting, personally. I think it would book itself against ministry undertaker.

97 Sting vs 97 Undertaker
97 Taker was one of his best years IMO, both in and out of the ring. Obviously Sting didn't wrestle in 97 and his workrate suffered during the next few years because of it, but 97 is when Sting's character closely resembled Taker's more gothic character.
If not the above than 91-94 surfer Sting vs 02-03 ABA Taker.

I'd take '13 Undertaker vs '13 Sting with no problems though.

92 Sting was 94 Taker. I'd have it booked just like the WM6 Hogan/Warrior match.

If I would choose it would be Crow Sting vs Ministry Undertaker but to tell you the truth this is not the match I always wanted to see. My true dream match would be The Great Muta vs Undertaker. Muta in his mid 90's prime and Undertaker in his grey classic look. Talk about a match for the ages.

Ugh. Really? Surfer Sting? ABA Undertaker? Why?Pretty sure I covered that part. To me that is when both were at their peaks. Taker was having his best matches and cutting the best promos. And what is not to love about early 90's Sting? That is when I enjoyed them both the most.

Crow non-talking Sting vs. Ministry Taker. Makes me excited just thinking about it.

It's just that...the whole mystique between having and Undertaker vs. Sting match is because of their dark characters. Especially when Sting was crow version. I'm not saying surfer Sting vs. Undertaker would be bad or anything, I just certainly don't see it having NEARLY the same feel or interest. That's all. To each their own though man!
