www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe/WWE_Ref_Having_Surgery_More_on_Cole_s_Commentary_Network_PPV_Plans.htmlAs of this week, WWE is planning to keep the normal 2012 pay-per-view schedule with the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 28 but from April through December, the plan is for only SummerSlam and Survivor Series to be national pay-per-views - the rest are set to air on the WWE Network as specials. Those also may remain on pay-per-view based on the idea that much of the country won't be able to access the Network.

So, this means that 2 of The Big 4 would be on The Network, and the others are on PPV? I'm confused.

I wouldn't mind the big 4 on PPV and the rest on the WWE network.

I have a feeling they'll be heavily advertised.
This whole WWE Network has bomb written all over it.

Thank God! It seemed like there was a PPV every other freakin' week, this news makes me (and my wallet) very happy.

I think I have the answer to my question: Vince is pretty much getting rid of PPV formatting?

Royal Rumble Elimination Chamber Wrestlemania Summerslam Survivor Series will be PPVs all the others will be specials on the WWE Network Us in the UK better get the "specials" on sky sports, why should we pay for it if the US is getting it for free on the network

^^^ Crap! Eh, I'm cool with it. As long as it entertains me, imo, I'm fine.

Smart move, i hope it works. I've been hoping they'd reduce the price of minor ppv's for a long time, but this is good.

Sounds great to me. I think the PPV format needs to evolve, especially in this economy. I am more likely to watch a major event with commercials between matches for free, than I am to pay $50 for the same event with no commercials.
Even if the network costs extra, I am much more likely to purchase an entire channel with other content than I am to pay $50 a month for just 3 hours of wresting.

I don't think there will be commercials, its a premium channel like HBO and Showtime.

I wonder how much they will charge for the channel. I like the idea of this and unlike some of Vince's other ventures (WBF, XFL) at least it is still wrestling oriented.
I think they have to do something fairly big to get people into this channel. Most people will not pay just to see the Legends House.
If you think about it Summerslam will me the only PPV for like 6 months. the other 4 will be in a 5 or 6 month span.

From what i read it will be part of a sports package with NHL, NBA, etc. so it could cost $10-$15/month, depending on your provider. Another rumor was WWE buying G4 television since i think the channel is already included in packages anyways.
