I like that set. I think with matty online next year they should release Tully/Arn together as a tag-team like they did with Rockers and add Magnum to next years releases.

Maybe a Tully/Arn 2 pack and then a Magnum/Dusty 2 pack.

Not a lineup I would have liked personally. It would have been a almost complete pass except for DDP. Yeah same here. From what I have seen so far of DDP, I am not really that impressed but I probably would have ended up buying it at retail had I seen it. As for the rest though, not for me. Magnum and Andre are both great looking figures but neither are guys I want in my collection and I have no need for that Austin. Especially since I will grab either the Mania 27 or the DMs Austin too to go with the L1 figure I already have of him. I will say the continuity of the set seems pretty good as was mentioned. Andre and Austin are the big stars, although I think people are over estimating or assuming how well Andre would do, DDP is a mid level guy, and Magnum appeals to the older/NWA collectors. Honestly, the more closely I look at these Legends sets the more I completely understand how they didn't do that well. I just think modern era fans just don't really care about that many Legends. Outside of Macho Man, Warrior, Hogan, Flair, maybe Piper and Perfect, and then the more recent guys like Rock, Austin, and maybe Eddie, I just don't think there is a ton of appreciation for Legends, at least imo. I grew up with Bret Hart, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels, Sting, Flair, Perfect, and Macho Man, but I felt like the Superstars of the 80s carried over into the 90s and that is why I cared about them. Guys like Ricky Steamboat, Dusty Rhodes, and the Big Boss Man, and so I went back and watched those VHS tapes because I knew who they were, at least a little bit. How do kids who started watching wrestling in the mid 2000s know that they should care about the Legends of the past unless they have been on WWE TV? Steamboat, Bret Hart, Piper, Sarge, Dusty, even Rock and Austin, HBK, it's really important for these guys to make appearances to push the "old school" brand but I don't think it happens enough personally. That is why you see guys like Jake Roberts, British Bulldog, Brian Pillman, or even Dusty and Steamboat peg warm in different places. Likewise, I don't really care about guys I didn't see growing up. Anything outside of my knowledge base just doesn't matter to me. If it happened outside of WWE prior to like 88-89 and it didn't involve like a Ricky Steamboat or Ric Flair, then I 99 times out of 100 just don't care. Pretty much how I feel about a Magnum TA figure, even though I have seen his work a little and think he was hella talented. I would guess most people are like that and I just don't think todays WWE fan, the main Mattel consumer outside of us, cares about a lot of these guys. Maybe that is just my spin on it but that is sort of my logic as to why I don't think these sets sold the way Mattel, or really any of us, thought that they would. Plus the economy is still tough and the attire choices weren't spectacular and all that but I still think it's a bigger picture thing personally.

What a disgrace.
Talk about teasing me with Magnum then pulling the rug out from under me. God I can't stand Vince McMahon for what he did to Pro Wrestling.

please release this figure soon! We should sign a petition since he is already molded and this proto has been released. What about a ringside exclusive?

Remember how SES CM Punk was 'accidentally' shown as part of Elite 9, then people wanted to sign a petition to get it released, only to discover it to be a RSC exlusive? It will get released, don't ya worry.

good grief, that Magnum TA is beautiful!!!
Sure he suffers from the leg sleeves and over-taped thighs, but those are easy fixes. Bill & Co. please release this figure from it's proto-hell!!!!

That Magnum is amazing and has the added bonus of providing cowboy boots smaller than Dusty's for other customs. I grew up watching Hogan's era and didn't start watching NWA until late 87, but I've gone back and really want more of those older JCP guys especially Magnum, the Rock-n-Roll and Midnight Expresses.
I don't really care how we get him so long as I can get him added to my shelf!

Dang that Magnum TA looks great. I still don't understand why Mattel can't release series on Matty instead of just individual figures every few months. I'd rather have series of four Legends every four months then six figures over the course of the year. I mean look at series 6, it was on back stock at Ringside forever.

Oh man, do I wish that series would of made it to retail. I would of instantly purchased all 4 figures. I really want that Magnum. Ever since we heard the rumor that he was signed, I've been waiting for him to finally being released and after seeing the unpainted proto, I thought he was close to being put out. I can only hope he's a Flashback because I gotta have him.
