I've been a little slow going with watching horror this season. Mainly because I like to wait til the kid goes to bed and these days, by that time I'm worn out too. So basically I've watched Halloween, Halloween II and Curse of Chucky Exact same over here! My kids have been going to bed later than usual, and it's made it impossible to watch anything. That, and my wife is pregnant with our third, so my priorities are a bit different right now. But, we have all our decorations up and everything.

I thought H2 started well enough. I think if Zombie just would have stuck with making a gratuitous slasher flick instead of trying to get too deep with the characters he would have been ok Agreed... I liked the first part of the movie with the aftermath of Zombie Halloween 1, and then the sequence at the hospital. That was all great. Everything after that was just terrible though. Like embarrassingly bad.

Just watched the so-called "Producer's Cut" of Halloween 6. Wow. I had been looking for this for a long time, as I heard that it was a big improvement over the regular version of the movie. It was awful. As bad as a lot of the Zombie Halloween stuff was, none of it was this bad. Personally, I always hated the whole Thorn/Man In Black storyline.
I think my Halloween movie world is going to be limited to the first two movies and H20 from now on. Maybe an occasional viewing of the second half of Zombie Halloween.

Wow, you must be the first person I've ever heard say that they don't like the Producer's Cut of Halloween 6. Everyone I talk to and communicate with on the Halloween message board prefers the PC to the Theatrical Cut. I, myself, prefer the PC to the TC as well. Even though it's in crapty quality, I still like the added elements of the Thorn stuff added in, especially with the runes at the end in Smith's Grove.

Yeah, the Michael Myers saga really is only a couple of films deep. I can tolerate 4 and H2O is a decent 90's horror movie, but other than that they pretty much suck.

I know this might sound a little out there coming from a 28 year old, but I'm really looking forward to the Toy Story Halloween special that will be on tomorrow. Hopefully I'll enjoy it more than that crapfest that was TS3.
Side note, I wanted to watch the Charlie Brown Halloween episode this afternoon. I found it on demand & was disappointed to see it was going to cost me $2.99. Forget that. Hopefully they'll play it on cable & I'll catch it then.

One of the coolest things about this time of year is all the movie venues playing classic horror films. I went and seen Werewolf of London for a buck on the big screen last Monday. This week I'm going to see The Wolf Man. There's this other joint that has a Lovecraft festival where they're showing a 35mm film of the classic Stuart Gordon movie Re-Animator. How cool is that?

The horror movie fest at the retro theatre near my place is bombing huge! I feel bad because I helped the guy plan it. The original A Nightmare on Elm Street only brought in 3 people on Friday. Monster Squad only had 4 on Saturday. The messed up part of this is that the movies are free. He only charges for snacks. We only have a few thousand people in my town, so he does these movies for free to try to give people something to do without driving to the city, and no body is showing up!
Anyway, starting my original Halloween movies marathon tonight. Also watching Pet Semetary.
Super pumped for American Mary on The Movie Network this Wednesday!

I've been watching the movies that AMC has been showing during Fear Fest that last couple of days. Flipping between Raw and Halloween right now. No matter how many times I see Halloween, it never gets old.

I'm not sure how well Halloween went over, but he's showing Rocky Horror tomorrow, and I don't expect a good turn out. I've only watched the original Halloween and Halloween 2 so far, with H20 and Resurrection tonight which means I'll be trying to cram in 4, 5, 6 and Trick r Treat tomorrow. Gonna be a busy day. Lastly, my wife and I are expecting twins in the spring. She is insisting on naming one Sydney if it's a girl, so I naturally am pushing for Tatum for another girl or Billy if it's a boy. (Scream reference for anyone who didn't get it.)

No matter how you cut up a turd it will always be a turd. I tend to forget that Halloween 5 and 6 exist along with the terrible Zombie films. The Cult of the Thorn storyline was stupid as hell. What made the original so scary was that we had no clue what was up w/ Myers. Like Loomis said, hes "pure evil." The Cult storyline tried explaining everything and it was just terrible. Halloween and Halloween 2 are great. The first is a classic while the second one kept much of the same atmosphere while only really adding blood and gore to keep up with other slashers (which there really wasn't much of anyway). Halloween 4 isn't bad. The only thing I can't stand about it is the terrible mask Myers wears and the fact that they had the actor wear football pads under Myers clothes to make him appear physically bigger. I enjoy H20 as well but it feels out of place with the original movies because it took on a more light, "Scream" atmosphere. The rest of the movies are trash to me.

Thanks to AMC I've been able to catch all of the Friday the 13th movies this month. Gotta say I forgot how much I enjoyed the first five. Granted they aren't anywhere near the quality of the first two Halloween movies IMO but they are fun to watch. Having gone thought them all again I'm gonna rate them how I liked them as...
1) Friday the 13th Part 2 2) Friday the 13th Part 4 3) Friday the 13th Part 3 (Shelly is one of the most memorable character in any slasher flick) 4) Friday the 13th 5) Friday the 13th Part 5 6) Freddy vs Jason 7) Friday the 13th Part 6 8) Friday the 13th Part 7 9) Friday the 13th Part 8 10) Friday the 13th (Remake) 11) Jason X 12) Jason goes to Hell

Watched a double header of Halloween and Pumpkinhead last night. I seriously wished they would make more monster movies and creepy witch movies while they're at it. Kinda burned out on zombies, vampires and ghosts.
