I was there yesterday too. I got to talk to Sean Cunningham. He offered me a spot writing for his upcoming website. I've been wanting to get back into it for a while without having to physically run my own site so this will be fun.

Went ahead and ordered Crystal Lake Memories. Not feeling like waiting for retail.

I recommend Rob Zombie's latest flick Salem's Lot. It's not for everyone but I loved it because it was right up my alley.
Also, The Bay. That movie freaked the sh*t out of me.

Yeah ScareFest was fun. Ken and Kane were both class acts. Danielle was being weird on friday. She was missing most the day and when I asked Security they didnt know where she was and told me straight up thats how she is.

Still very on the fence about Lords of Salem. I found there was so much atmosphere and cool imagery that it made it a good horror movie, but it was really corny.

I worked the convention for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year. I ran the film festival as well as did press work for the convention. She's really cool but she's been there so often and made so many friends that it's not unusual for her to kind of mingle around.

Anyone have an opinion in the two newest Halloween flicks. Zombie basically took a crap on the original Halloween w/ these two flicks. He took a simple story and put his clichéd touch on it. If you've seen House of a Thousand Corpses or The Devil's Rejects you know what your getting with these two movies; white trash, constant use of profanity, large amounts of pointless nudity, the same crappy actors he always uses, etc... He basically took the simple idea of Myers from the original film and ruined his mystique by giving him a backstory and a reason for why he does what he does. The original movie was perfect in that we had no insight into his backstory besides looking like a normal kid and suddenly snapping. As Dr. Loomis said, the only explanation is that he is pure evil. Zombie's first Halloween isn't the worst of the Halloween movies, but it doesn't mean its good either. Zombie's second Halloween film is honestly one of the worst horror film's I've ever seen and barely resembles a Halloween film at all. Just my two cents. I'd suggest watching this documentary made by a Halloween fan. He follows the career of Zombie and shows how much of a hypocrite the guy is and how he killed the Halloween franchise (at least for now). Its only 30 minutes and is an interesting watch.

I saw that vid the other day and loved it. My biggest complaint with Zombie's Halloween is how much time and focus he puts into the child. The first half of the movie is all about Mike myers as a kid. I liked the oldschool movie where you dont know what drove Myers to kill people. I like that the oldschool film focuses more on the terror Myers brings to that small town. They don't really know who he is, or why he's doing what he's doing. Zombie's film is half about a white trash family with lots of profanity and vulgarity. And then the second half is still pretty profane and vulgar but little to no mytery behind what's happening. Just Sasquatch killing people.

I thought H2 started well enough. I think if Zombie just would have stuck with making a gratuitous slasher flick instead of trying to get too deep with the characters he would have been ok

It looks like TCM is hit and miss so far. Horror of Dracula this Friday though!
I've watched both of Zombie's Halloween movies so far. As hard as I try to push that H2 is underrated...it's really not. As much as a few scenes are great and work really well, the parts with Myers and Myers and his Mom don't work, and that should be the main focus of the movie.

Trying to watch a couple of horror movies a day. So far I've watched Nightmare on Elm St 1&3, Silent Hill, original TCM, Halloween, Dawn of the Dead remake. To hell with watching any horror movies on AMC. Don't care for editing and commercials.

Watched all of the Friday the 13th movies the last week and a half. I plan on watching the Halloween series for the umpteenth time sometime soon. Depends when I feel like doing it since I watch them at all times during the year.

I'm always watching this channel & have seen Frankenstein & Bride of... this month already, missed Night of the Living Dead but hope to catch it again (not on the DVR list yet)

Been really busy the last few weeks trying to get in as many horror/halloween movies as possible. Hocus Pocus (also visited Max's house in Salem), Twilight Zone movie, Hellraiser: Inferno, House Of 1000 Corpses, Final Destination, Session 9, Beetlejuice, The HIlls Have Eyes, Nightmare On Elm Street, Insidious 2...I have a long way to go until all my favorites are watched before Halloween!
