I got my Elite 11 set today. That belt is absolute garbage. So if the belt is THAT bad to you...then why don't you do a giveaway and offer it to those who would like it? I'm sure there's many board members who would appreciate it.

Punk is great.
No, I still want the belt. I'll give it to Cena since he has the fake belt in the WWE.

Some people will defend Mattel at all costs...
"Oh well, better than Jakks"
I know JAKKS was out of scale, and Rey was the same as 'Taker, which sucked. But at the same time, JAKKS had many advantages. Sure, they took every shortcut at the end and it sucked. However, they released more of the roster, more CLASSICS (Mattel will obviously never release the great variety JAKKS did).... and JAKKS gave us a good product for many years.
They were the ones to first take the risk on the Classic line, which led to the Mattel Legends/DM line. Plus, JAKKS scans were way better than Mattel's (even though Mattel is getting better).
I am in no way saying JAKKS put out a better product than Mattel, but some of you act as if JAKKS was the worst thing that ever happened. When it reality, despite the scale, they gave WWF/E fans some great stuff over the years.
And Mattel is starting to take shortcuts, which sucks. It's unacceptable to pay 18 dollars for a figure at TRU at not get a good looking belt. It isn't in their budget? Sure.
I love Mattel, don't get me wrong, the DM, Legends, and majority of their Elites are simply awesome. Absolutely amazing. However, I will definitely not be buying Miz 11. Not a threat-Mattel will survive without my Miz 11 purchase. I just don't see the point of a repaint with a dull belt for such a high price.

LOL, this thread is full of win.
If $18 is too much, buy it at Walmart or Target, they are $14.99 or $15.99.
TRU increased all prices with all popular toy lines. McFarlane Sportspicks are $14.99 and Target and Walmart have it for $9.99.
When you guys use facts for your arguments, make sure you include everything in the conversation. Not just facts to help your bitching.
If you guys don't like the belt, sell it on eBay. I'm sure you can get at least $4.99 shipped.
Otherwise, what's done is done. We can't change anything.
If a non-shiny belt bothers you so much, don't support Mattel.

Yep, Price increases and price differences are all over the place. Not related to WWE but I noticed Kmart has been beating Targets prices on several new toys.

This thread is just phenomenal in so many ways. Though to be fair, I guess nobody really ever accused this board of having critical thinking skills. I hope the Mattel folks are having a good laugh because I sure am...

Mattel has done phenomenal... and what they've put out has blown JAKKS out of the water. But we expect improvements as time goes on. Just like BCA to TTL to RA.
The problem isn't specifically and exclusively with The Miz 11, it is what's too come. First it was the stands, then the packaging (small detail, but they took out the window in the back which was cool for MOC collectors), then the belts, what's next? The point is it's their premium line for the current roster, and if they are going to include something, they should not half-ass it.
The funniest thing is how some of you defend Mattel no matter what. As I said, they are awesome figures. But this doesn't give them a free pass for absolutely everything.
And the prices have been raised everywhere, TRU being the most expensive, but even at Wal-Mart now they are over 16 bucks. That's expensive for a single figure. The quality should stay status-quo if the price is rising. There shouldn't be a quality decline and a price increase.

This thread was semi-entertaining at first but at this point everyone is repeating themselves and just fighting. Can this just be locked to end the insanity? We will all have plenty of opportunities to voice our opinions about the product in other threads. This thread has become a war zone and (to me at least) it's giving the board a really bad vibe.

One of the Wal-Marts here has elites at 15.99, the other at 16.99. The Legends figures were at 16.99 and stopped selling so they were marked down to 14.99 and still don't move. Last time I looked at a Target they were 15.99 and had left overs from 4 different series. Sportspicks at my TRU are 14.99 and at both Wal-Marts they are 13.99.

Don't think I have seen someone bring this up but, with mattel releasing best of 2011 elite series soon, Sheamus is in the series and since he had a shiny belt do you think they will repack him with the exact same shiny one or give him a dull one instead?

I wonder if the figure itself goes into consideration when deciding whether to use the more detailed shiny belts or the dull ones.
Like, I wonder if Mattel looks at a John Cena and feels confident enough that he will sell without Elite accessories while a Sheamus, which does not have as large of a fanbase, needs the extra incentive for people to pick him up. I say this because, before even reading this thread, I picked up the Elite McIntyre SOLEY because of the awesome IC belt. The shiny belts, I think, far exceed the quality of any previous WWE accessories (across the board) and look fantastic. I probably would not have picked up the Drew if he didn't include it. And, now, I probably won't pick up the E11 Miz because he won't have the shiny belt. BUT Miz will probably sell better anyway because he is a much more high-profile wrestler.
Does any of this make sense or is it just late-night rambling? What I mean is: maybe Mattel purposely uses the better accessories to boost the sales of "weaker" figures. If they do, it makes sense. Kids are going to buy 27 Rey Mysterios each anyway so why put as much effort into those?

For 's sake. This is just sad and pitiful. Oh no, Mattel didn't release a shiny belt or a cloth shirt, might as well off myself since there is no point in living any more. Mattel has been nothing short of greatness with this line and you're going to bitch over a non-shiny belt or a rubber shirt?

You make perfect sense and I can vaguely recall Mattel stating that the plotting of title belts did have a slight effect based on the superstar such as placing a belt with someone who may not sell as well. Conversely, they wouldnt go thinking 'this guy sells good enough already just give them a dull belt', the decision on what finish the belt in comes down to if the belt has been done before and the likelihood it will be produced in the future. But yeah I believe you are correct.
