Quit your crying. I swear no matter what they do you people will never be happy. Responses like this are reasons why they give us items with less quality. Cuz some ppl don't care and are happy with crap and then when they get really bad they jump on the wagon and complain just as much. Sound like jakks all over again? If consumers don't care why should mattel. This is why its good to voice your opinion. Well said. I know sometimes we overreact but some of the butt kissing can be sickening.

What I cant believe is that you pay $16 when I have to pay $24 to a store that only has up to elite 6.

The dull belts suck. This, along with other things, has made me question whether or not I want to spend my money on WWE Mattel... and I own every Elitem every Legend, every exclusive, and nearly every Basic and Rumbler figure. Very disappointing. What I cant believe is that you pay $16 when I have to pay $24 to a store that only has up to elite 6. Sucks for you. Now what is your opinion of the topic at hand?

You know usually i HATE people who come on here and commplain, but i have to agree. I didnt mind when they took away the name tags, i undestood thehy had to trim the price a little, But now the belts, and even the shirts !?!?!?! If i wanted to accept plastic shirts i would buy basics. And with the title, i know how factories work. it costs them about only 3 or 4 cents more to put in the shiney gloss finish. Dont cheap out on us Mattel. Im more than happy to shell out my money at you guys, but i expect to be getting what i paid for in return.

I like the dull belts. And if it means we still get high quality elites then I'm all for them keeping the dull belts.

I don't mind them cutting cost in areas, i just think they do it in the wrong places. Don't skimp out on main title details, especially in the elite line. There should absolutely not be any exclusion of detail in the elite line. Cut an entire figure out of each series if they have to. I'd rather get 5 highly detailed figures and accessories each month than 6 decently detailed figures. Especially when the elite line is supposed to be the high end figures in the line. I'm tired of the "cutting costs" bull crap too, if you cut cost out of the figures then let it show on the price tag when they hang them in the stores as well. They don't cut cost for us, they do it for themselves and themselves only.

My stomach is turning over the dull belt trend...SHEAMUS and Drew had amazingly done figure titles and now were getting crap for the same "reasons" jakks crapped on us so long...FYI I predicted this back in 1/1/10 when everyone thought mattel would never hose us like jakks did...mattel still makes better products than jakks ever did but if they keep cutting corners how far away are we from figures without any paint apps on their backs??

If I'd buy Elites and they had dull belts, I'd stop buying them. But since I'm only buying Rumblers meanwhile, I'm happy that MATTEL even did a belt for the small figures... even if it is dull. ;D Let's face the fact: MATTEL had to be better in the first year to collect customers and get the product over, even with (maybe) smaller profit. Now that they've established their lines, they are able to cut on different things. Another factor is that they have to cut costs because of certain external influences, prices are rising everywhere (production, shipping,...), the market got smaller than it was in times when Jakks produced the figures (see the Classic/Legends Line), and not to forget they have to get there license fees back and a fat plus out of their product.

Hey mattel, your figures are awesome, I could care less about the belt being shiny!

I want to know why they couldn't colour Punk's entire chest tattoo.

first of all I love the title of this thread! The honeymoon is definitely over, and Mattel is turning into our Ex that we left after being abused for all those years.
Dull WWE belt on a repainted Miz Mattel? Really? REALLY??
You guys in the States think you pay a premium - bros, us international folks pay a premium for these figures. I can accept that Elites are supposed to be premium, so when I see Boss Bill and his team start cutting corners like this, it really disappoints me - and I'm a Mattel supporter!
Get your act together MDT and quit JAKKING around.

I dont have any Elite's with belts yet, but shouldnt we be glad that we are getting them on a regular basis? JAKKS would take months, with Mattel its like every two months.

Anyone who's obsessed with Mattel making shiny and cloth accessories, try one of their other lines if the WWE figures aren't shiny or clothy enough for you anymore... I've got no problem with the new belts or shirts (hell, I wish they didn't bother with the awful cloth pants on DM HHH or EG The Rock), but I would like Mattel to fix the paint errors and loose joints on so many of the figures.

This crap again? It not even valid to compare to the Barbie line. It's because of people like you that we're starting to get crappy rubber shirts. For 10 series the elite figs have had cloth shirts, now some are going to be made out of rubber. Are t-shirts made from rubber in real-life? No. It's about authenticity, which means the shirts need to be made from cloth, so stop with the pretentious Barbie comparisons.

I am in the business of manufacturing specialty products and work with suppliers all over the world on a daily business, so hear me out a second.
That being said, I can tell you for a fact that the costs of manufacturing ANYTHING right now is escalating at an alarming rate. This includes everything from steel, sluminum, plastic, fuel and virtually any commodity that is involved in the production of ANY product.
I have proposals that I presented 60 days ago to clients that are no longer valid due to these extreme escalations in pricing and have had to qualify every proposal I give with a "good for 30 days" escalation clause, whereas pricing used to be valid for 6 months.
Mattel is facing these very issues, having to supply a product that was basiclly proposed to us/the consumers months ago. In this case, they are supplying the same figures, having to change the spec on some of the accessories. Unfortunately, the belts and maybe other pack-in otems like Wade's chair are being removed/modified to allow the product to be released at the desired price point to make the MSRP work.
Something has to give when you're trying to make production work within the budget constraints in place. While I personally love the shiny belts, I don't mind taking a duller version if it means I get a better figure in the wave.
I'm not necessarily saying that it's acceptable to provide a "lesser product" than what was originally shown, but the mfg does have the right to change the final production version at any time and in this case, maybe didn't have a choice.
This isn't the answer many want to hear and I'll probably be smited for it, but it is a realistic one.
Let Mattel offer the reasoning before we storm the hills with torches in hand.
