That is a good argument.... It is a tough one really. I love sharing/discussing these figures, but if it means someone ends up loosing out on a figure they really want, or has to pay hundreds of dollars more due to the advertising, then i guess that really sucks! It becomes less of an enjoyable passtime, and more a case of who has the most money. This is exactly right. Half of the enjoyment of collecting things like these are finding them, winning them and then showing everyone what you have got hold off! Posting it somewhere here and then everybody bidding against each other to see who is willing to spend the most money (or sets there alarm at the right time in my case) kind of defeats the object in my opinion. As you say, it's take the fun out of it. I'm sure some off you disagree, this is just my opinion. Dennis deserves these because he is a great collector, just a shame he had to pay so much in the end. Anyway, who's bidding on the other two? ;D

i agree with not posting live auctions - if these hadn't been mentioned on here there is no way they would have gone for the final amount. imagine the excitement of bidders knowing that it wasn't being talked about, hopingh that their bid won the item and then the pleasure of showing them off to us all - we would have been in the same situation now with 2 great new members, the conversation and buzz around the figures would have been the same but the buyer would have had that feeling you get when your writing a post you KNOW is going to be a hot one Rant over congrats on the wins buddy, tehy'll go great in your already special collection

How have i missed this thread until page 4?
Anyway, great to hear from you both, some great insights so far, im really looking forward to hearing some more stories, especially from the perspective of assembling and painting wwf hasbro figures. You may be able to tell from my sig, im in to that kind of thing myself.
Great thread so far, also mental prices for those protos, but in fairness, 2 incredible pieces.

I personally probably would have paid those prices. But some other things like college at the moment need to be considered first. But in the future, I will be one of the people in the bidding war for them. So I hope none show up for a few years haha

doesn't mean they didn't sell what they came to sell and darted. I mean, if I was selling stuff, I wouldn't want to hang around a bunch of online dorks and reminance about random stuff from the nineties. And we, as a group, myself included, are online dorks

Im guessing whoever contacted him to initially come on this board probably mentioned some people didn't believe they were real prototypes, etc. So to raise the bids and prove himself the bidders, Brad came on here and shared some info. I hope he comes back to share more stories but I doubt that will be the case. Guess I cant necessarily blame him from his point of view.

i think brian will stick around a bit. I really urged him to come here. Yes, it helped him with his auctions, but i begged him numerous times. I have been in contact with him since the first warrior proto. Secondly, I know that brian doesn't remember much about his days at hasbro. And whatever memory he does have, it is fading fast. He worked on ALL of hasbros lines, every single day, including Playschool! And since he was never really a wrestling fan, he never ingrained in his mind the memories of making them. I say, if you have a question concerning something, post a pic along with the question. It will help him greatly.
thanks BK

Hi Everyone,
No, I didn't collect money and ditch, but I have stuff to do that requires my time...namely my family and my job. So when I get the chance to post, it'll most likely be on weekend when I've got some free time. I'll try to answer whatever questions I can, there's a lot of them!

Great to hear that you are still around Maybe we should group our questions together in a priority list so the guys aren't just spammed with answering the same things all the time? Almost like an interview.....i think it would allow us to get the answers to the questions we have been dying to ask for so long in an organized manner. It would make a great companion for the '*OFFICIAL HASBRO POST* Hasbromaniac' post What do you guys think?

I didn't mean to cause offence and wasn't suggesting you were not legit buddy - I just meant that you'd got a nice sum of money from those prototpyes and didn't feel the need to log back in to this place. We all appreciate you coming on here and if you have any stories/memories from the WWF Hasbro line I'd be the first to log on to read them. So apologies if I have offended.

So awesome to see this thread...thanks so much for all the info and pictures. If he hasn't been informed already, I'm going to try and get another former Hasbro employee on here who worked with the WWF figure line. I believe he is in one of the pictures badger posted.
