I hope you finally stick with this. Good win to keep pushing Steiner big, I can see him as the next NWA Champion. Glad AMW is doing their thing. Nice touch to put Steiner over even more. Liger-Mysterio sounded awesome, and I liked them shaking hands after. Eddie-Hall was a good match, especially since it wasn't last. Main event sounded really really good. This is going well (when you put out shows), and Steiner-Eddie is building up very nicely.

I thought you already gave the TNA X-Division Championship to somebody, or am I just imagining it. The ladder match should be insanely awesome. Good handicap match to kick off NWA:TNA #006 with Scott Steiner overcoming the Mamalukes, hope this push for Steiner is worth it. Chris Harris and James Storm without the America's Most Wanted name was better in my opinion. Beating the Jung Dragons is also fine, seemed quite solid. Holy man, Jushin Thunder Liger beating Rey Mysterio Jr was fantastic. Eddie Guerrero beating Scott Hall is fine. TAKA Michinoku winning the TNA X-Division Championship is amazing. Hope he has a lengthy run. Only complaint with this pay-per-view is that there was too many big matches. Wish Liger/Rey was on next week's show to be honest.

SCOTT STEINER'S PUSH; TAKA MANAGER; & MORE! (www.pwinsider.com)
- Management are said to thrilled with the way that Scott Steiner worked his segments this past Wednesday on NWA:TNA's sixth pay-per-view. Management apparently feel that after Steiner destroyed James Maritato and Tony Mamaluke, he got mega-over with the crowd, and his segment where he was arrested only got him more over. Jeff Jarrett feels that Steiner is the companys top heel, so expect Steiner to continue being pushed heavily.
- After TNA management put the NWA:TNA X-Division title belt on TAKA Michinoku, they have been in talks with several Japanese managers who can speak English to work with TAKA during his reign as champion. We can reveal that management have been in talks with Sonny Oono, who is known for his work in WCW during the 90's.
- Now that the tournament to crown the NWA:TNA X-Division Champion is over, the tournament to crown the NWA World Tag Team Champions is expected to kick off in the coming weeks. It's been rumoured that the tournament will kick off on NWA:TNA's eighth pay-per-view. TNA already has eleven active teams on the roster, so I wouldn't expect any new teams to compete in the tournament. However, you can never be too certain in the world of professional wrestling.

July 24th, 2002 The usual pyrotechnic display goes off at the top of the ramp, as Mick Foley[/b] and Mike Tenay welcome us to NWA:TNA's seventh pay-per-view! They talk about TAKA Michinoku becoming the first ever NWA:TNA X-Division Champion, and how he will defend his championship for the first time tonight against The Amazing Red! They talk about Scott Steiner's actions last week, and how James Maritato is in a hospital back in his home, New York. They wish him a speedy recovery. TNA commissioner, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat makes his way down to the ring, and he looks very serious tonight. He talks about Scott Steiner's dispicable actions last week, and how he considered banning Scott Steiner from appearing on tonights show. Steamboat then said he reliased that two weeks ago he announced that Scott would take on Jushin "Thunder" Liger last week, but due to Steiner being arrested, the match never took place. That's why tonight, Steiner will take on Liger later on tonight. 1. TAKA Michinoku [w/ Sonny Oono] def. The Amazing Red to retain the X-Division title in 9:04: TAKA came to the ring with Sonny Oono, who is known for his work in WCW. TAKA played a tweener here, since Red was way over with the fans. This was the perfect way to kick off the show, as the fans absolutely loved it, and it got them pumped for the rest of the show. Red accidentally knocked down the referee and Oono slid the X-Division belt into the ring. TAKA then dropped Red onto the belt with a vicious Michinoku Driver for the pinfall. Foley reminds us afterwards that Low-Ki beat Jerry Lynn two weeks ago to earn a future title shot against TAKA at a date of his choosing. The cameras cut to the backstage interview set where NWA World Heavyweight Champion Eddie Guerrero is standing by with Jeremy Borash. Guerrero hypes his title match against Scott Steiner, and Eddie calls Steiner a psycho, but he has the fans support, and that will drive him to defeating Steiner, and retaining his title. 2. Rey Misterio, Jr. and Konnan def. Kaz Hayashi and Yang and Juventud Guerrera and Psicosis in 12:41: In a match to hype the tournament to crown the new NWA World Tag Team Champions, three of the hottest teams here in NWA:TNA took to the ring for an elimination tag match. The crowd where still reeling from the previous encounter, so it kind of brought the overall rating I've given the match slightly down. But the match quality was certainly there. Yang and Hayashi where eliminated first after Yang missed a Moonsault from the top onto Guerrera and Gurrera quickly climbed to the top and hit a 450 Splash. The Juice and Psicosis where eliminated not too long after Yang and Hayashi where following the Montezuma's Revenge from Konnan onto Psicosis. The team of Misterio and Konnan celebrated at ringside following their victory. Once again the camera cuts backstage where we see "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles with Jeremy Borash. AJ calls TAKA's win last week a fluke, and vows to become the second NWA:TNA X-Division Champion. AJ basically spent the interview promoting himself. Low-Ki entered the camera range and told AJ that he better shut up, and stop whining about losing. Low-Ki tells AJ that when he defeats TAKA, he will gladly give him a shot at his title and whoop his ass. AJ tells Ki that if he's so confident about beating TAKA, then he should put his number one contendership on the line in a match with him next week. AJ calling someone confident? Ha. Ki accepts, and promises AJ that he will remain the number one contender. 3. Jeff Jarrett def. Brian Christopher in 8:53: Although this was a pointless match on the card, it was a damn solid match. Jeff plays a great heel, and got some great heat from the crowd for using several dirty maneuvers. Christopher looked to put Jarrett away with the Hip Hop Drop, but Jarrett was able to roll out of the way and quickly hit The Stroke for the victory. To secure his victory, Jarrett put his feet on the ropes for extra leverage. Mick Foley and Mike Tenay talk about the tournament to crown the new NWA World Tag Team Champions. They announce that the tournament will kick off next week, and will feature twelve tag teams. Sonny Oono was backstage with the NWA:TNA X-Division Champion, TAKA Michinoku and Goldylocks. Oono told Goldylocks that TAKA doesn't care if he has to defend his title against AJ Styles or Low-Ki, because in the end they will fall victim to the Michinoku Driver and it will all be over. NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Eddie Guerrero made his way down to the ring and joined Mike Tenay and Mick Foley at the announcers table to commentate the main event. 4. Scott Steiner def. Jushin "Thunder" Liger in 14:48: I believe that this was Liger's first loss since arriving in TNA, but Steiner continues to stay undefeaten. Liger had some serious momentum in the closing moments of the match, but his momentum completely ended when Steiner almost broke Liger's neck with a wicked belly to belly suplex. Steiner wasted no time after the belly to belly by applying the Steiner Recleiner, and Liger tapped out instantly. Steiner motioned to Guerrero that he is coming for his title, as Guerrero stared a hole right through Steiner as the show ends.[/font]

Taka over Red is a good first title defense because it's not a big match or anything. Taka-Ki sounds nice when it happens. Good promo by Eddie, Eddie-Steiner should be awesome. I like the Rey/Konnan combo, keep it up with them. I like AJ being really cocky, and that clause against Ki is interesting. I hope AJ winds up with the belt at some point now. Hope you can find something good to do with JJ as he is great. Good main event win for Steiner. You are building Steiner/Guerrero so well. I really like this diary; the roster is really good and pretty realistic.

July 31st, 2002 Mick Foley and Mike Tenay welcome us to the broadcast, but before they can hype anything, the music of Scott Steiner blasts across the arena. He confidently makes his way to the ring, to a ton of heat from the crowd. He gets a microphone and talks about how when he destroys Eddie Guerrero, and takes the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, he not only wants to have the best belt in the entire universe, but he wants the best eye candy in the world. Steiner says that he began to look for the hottest looking lady he could find, and he finally found her. The Nashville crowd pop, but Steiner says “finding a hot girl in Nashville is like finding a needle in a hay stack”. Steiner’s music plays once again, and out from the back comes Rena Mero in all her glory. The crowd give her a phenomenal reaction as she struts to the ring. She begins to grind in the ring, before kissing Scott and dissing the crowd, instantly smashing the face status she had momentarily from the crowd. Rena says that her man will defeat Eddie and reign as the NWA World Heavyweight Champion until he vacates the title because nobody will be able to beat him. They embrace in the ring as we cut to the back.
James Maritato is seen, with his ribs bandages, with Trinity and Tony Mamaluke. They are in Ricky Steamboat’s office, and Maritato is complaining about being removed from the NWA World Tag Team Championship tournament. Steamboat tells Maritato that he has to remove him and Mamaluke from the tournament because he isn’t medically cleared to compete. Maritato pauses for a couple of seconds before saying that he will sign a weaver. Steamboat seems hesitant at first, but agrees with Maritato.
1. NWA World Tag Team Championship Tournament: Christian York and Joey Matthews [w/ Alexis Laree] def. Ron Harris and Don Harris in 8:14: A so-so way to kick off the show. It wasn’t the best match, but it sure as hell wasn’t the worst match. Matthews and York mesh well together as a team, and Alexis Laree is just damn good to look at. The Harris Brothers looked to put York away with a vicious Double Chokeslam, but Matthews managed to break the count up. Shortly after the Double Chokeslam, York and Matthews connected with the Full Effect to advance.
A video shows James Mitchell standing in a cemetery. He cuts an interesting promo on how his creatures of the night will descent upon NWA:TNA and wreck complete destruction.
2. NWA:TNA X-Division Champion, TAKA Michinoku [w/ Sonny Oono] def. Elix Skipper in a non-title match in 11:03: I didn’t expect this match to go on as long as it did, but I am not complaining that it did go on for as long as it did, as it was a damn fine match. Foley kept putting over the AJ Styles and Low-Ki match that will take place later tonight where the winner will earn the right to face TAKA for the X-Division title at a date of their choosing. TAKA pinned Skipper after an awesome Tornado DDT from the second rope.
Jeremy Borash is backstage with “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels. Daniels talks about his main event match against Eddie Guerrero. Daniels said that he will defeat Guerrero which will give him the right to challenge for the NWA World Heavyweight title. Scott Steiner and Rena Mero appeared together, and Steiner immediately told Daniels that if he does indeed defeat Eddie, then he will have to go through him before getting to face Eddie for the title. Steiner tells Daniels that he won’t get past him, and when he attempts to he will end up passing out to the Steiner Recliner. Daniels and Steiner stare down each other before Mero and Steiner head off.
3. NWA World Tag Team Championship Tournament: Rey Misterio Jr. and Konnan def. James Maritato and Tony Mamaluke [w/ Trinity] in 10:33: Now this was an awesome contest. Although Maritato had to sell his injuries during the entire match, the moves he managed to hit where pretty cool. Misterio pinned Mamaluke after a Super Hurricanrana.
NWA World Heavyweight Champion Eddie Guerrero was shown warming up backstage for his main event match against Christopher Daniels.
AJ Styles was interviewed backstage by Jeremy Borash. Styles basically put over his match against Low-Ki where the winner will earn a future X-Division title shot against TAKA Michinoku at a date of their choosing.
4. Low-Ki def. AJ Styles to retain his title shot against TAKA Michinoku in 15:55: Wow, this was easily one of the best matches in NWA:TNA’s short time as a company. Tonight’s card has been chalk-full of spectacular matches, and this was no exception. There was quite a few false finishes on both guys’ parts, but it was Low-Ki walking away victorious after escaping AJ’s backslide pin and knocking him down a violent kick to the head following by the Ki Krusher.
5. NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Eddie Guerrero def. Christopher Daniels in a non-title match in 13:09: This was another spectacular contest, and the crowd seemed to be really into it. Scott Steiner and Rena Mero made their way onto the top of the ramp about mid-way through the match, which distracted Eddie, and allowed Daniels to blindside him. Eddie soon regained control over Daniels, and it was all over following a Brainbuster from Eddie. Afterwards, Eddie got onto the top rope and raised his title belt up to Steiner, who simply nodded his head.
A video recapping the Eddie/Steiner feud plays, ending the show.

loved this era in TNA. A really good show Jord, not a fan of the format though. Mero, Foley, Steiner, Guerrero all in TNA is really cool. I like the Guerrero/Steiner stuff so far. eww the harris brothers, haha. Glad they lost. Don't really like Taka as Champion but a match with Skipper would've been good. Love Rey in TNA. Main Event was awesome, although Daniels was a little too 'new' in TNA to be fighting for the world title imo. Loved the match though and I can't wait to see how you book this Eddie/Steiner feud.

-This is the first show of yours that I'm reading -Good opening promo with Steiner and Mero, cool that you have Eddie -Good first match, I'm a big York & Matthews fans and its true...Mickie is just damn good to look at -Surprised that you have TAKA as X Division champ. Push Skipper -Cool to have Mysterio & Konnan get the W -Ki/Styles will always be a great match, I was just pulling for Styles -Eddie winning makes sense as Daniels had just got to TNA and wasn't an established name yet
Great first show for me to read. I love how you have Eddie, Rey, Mero & TAKA in TNA.

Decent opening promo, nice bragging by Scott Steiner and all, but Rena Mero becoming his valent, I am slightly unsure with that as I'd of thought Mero would be slightly hard or a poor NWATNA to reach at this point. Wow, Christian York and Joey Matthews advancing into the NWA World Tag Team Championship Tournament? I buy that in a heartbeat. I hope they reach the semi-finals personally. Another fantastic TNA X-Division Championship defense by TAKA Michinoku against Elix Skipper, you are building TAKA up as the fighting champion I wished for him to be. I'd personally love to see Funaki eventually get released from the WWE and end up fighting TAKA. Woah, well Rey Misterio Jr and Konnan beating The Maritatos made it slightly obvious in my eyes who would reach the finals or semi-finals or something. Fantastic bout with Low-Ki beating AJ Styles. Hope you soon build AJ up, saying in the winter of 2002. Eddie Guerrero beating Christopher Daniels was one hell of a match, I love that it was non-title too.

- I like Mero being Steiner’s valet. She has that personality where they both know, or think they are better than everyone else. Solid promo. - Awesome to see Matthews/York going over the useless Harris Brothers. That’s great. - Good win for TAKA. Taka against anyone to bound to be a fantastic match. - Rey Jr./Konnan advancing works. I hope they don’t win the straps though. Rey Jr. shouldn’t be stuck in the tag team ranks. - KI/Styles looks like it would have been awesome. I like how cocky Styles seems to not be able to pick up a win in the past few weeks. KI/Taka should be awesome. - Guerrero beating Daniels is obvious. But, it allows Guerrero to put on a great match and the same goes for Daniels. I like how Steiner/Guerrero did not have a physical altercation on the show. - Overall, solid show. I can’t wait for Steiner/Guerrero. I have a feeling that is going to be one hell of a match.

this is a really fun fed I looked forward to seeing who will be in the tag tournament hoping for Filthy Animals(Konnan/Rey) or York & Matthews to take the straps.
I looked forward to seeing James Mitchell's stable and i hope Guerrero drops the strap to someone not nailed Steiner and Scotty stays in a upper-midcard role.

Nice comment by Steiner to rip into the live crowd, awesome. Really good idea to pair Sable & Steiner up, top act right there. Ok match to start off like you said. Still really liking the combo of Mysterio & Konnan. Glad Ki won as I hope Styles earns his title when he gets it. Although I hope he stays cocky. Good win for Eddie to close the show, and Eddie/Steiner continues to look awesome.

NWA:TNA ROSTER CUTS Posted on Tuesday, August 6th at 1902 hours by Jordan McLean I can reveal that NWA:TNA have come to terms on the contract terminations of David Young, Goldylocks, Lash LeRoux and Sonny Onoo as of today. The release of Onoo surprised many, but it's believed Onoo requested his release from the company due to some family problems back in his home country of Japan and Onoo had to fly out to Japan as soon as possible.

August 7th, 2002 The usual opening video plays, followed by Mike Tenay and Mick Foley welcoming us to the broadcast. A video hyping tonights main event, Eddie Guerrero vs. Scott Steiner, plays.
1. Low-Ki def. Jorge Estrada in 5:42: We kicked off the show with some X-Division action. Ki came out to the ring with a piece of paper that I believe has something to do with his X-Division title shot. After some fantastic action, Low-Ki put Estrada away following the Ghetto Stomp. Afterwards, the NWA:TNA X-Division Champion TAKA Michinoku, without his manager Sonny Onoo, hit the ring and TAKA dropped Estrada with the Michinoku Driver II. Ki and TAKA looked at each other as Foley sends us to the back.
Jeremy Borash is with the Dawn Marie, who is alongside Johnny Swinger and Simon Diamond. Dawn talks about Swinger and Diamond's tag team tournament match, and how she was told by Ricky Steamboat that Swinger and Diamond will face two ECW alumnis in a Falls Count Anywhere match.
2. Falls Count Anywhere, NWA World Tag Team Championship Tournament: Johnny Swinger and Simon Diamond [w/ Dawn Marie] def. The Sandman and Sabu [w/ Francine] in 14:57: The fans absolutely went crazy when Francine, The Sandman and Sabu all made their way through the crowd and into the ring. Both teams in this match are ECW alumni, and they involved a ton of weapons in this match. Dawn Marie and Francine had a catfight in the ring, and both rolled around for a good few minutes in and out of the ring. Swinger pinned Sabu after Sabu missed the Arabian Facecrusher and he hit the Shaft.
Backstage we see Scott Steiner doing press ups on the floor as his valet and girlfriend, Rena Mero approaches him. The duo talk about Steiner's main event match together before we cut to a hype video.
We once again see James Mitchell in a cemetery, much like last week. He cuts a promo similar to last weeks, but some things slightly changed in it. I wonder when we will eventually see the debut of Mitchell's "creatures"?
3. AJ Styles def. Elix Skipper and The Amazing Red in 7:21: I guess this match was just to slowly build AJ Styles up as a challenger to the X-Division title. The end of the match was exciting as Red hit AJ with the InfraRed, and then Skipper took out Red with the Play of the Day. But AJ was quick to hit Skipper with the Styles Clash for the pinfall victory.
4. NWA World Tag Team Championship Tournament: Kaz Hayashi and Yang def. Lenny and Lodi in 11:41: This was some solid tag team action, even if it was heels vs. heels. Kaz and Yang are fantastic workers, and play their gimmicks well. After Lodi took Kaz out with a spinning heel kick, he taunted the crowd which allowed Yang to get to his feet and hit a nice martial arts kick to Lodi's temple for the three count to advance.
Jeremy Borash was backstage with the current reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Eddie Guerrero. Eddie heavily put over his match with Scott Steiner. Eddie leaves the scene and a Tale of the Tape appears for both Scott Steiner and Eddie Guerrero. A video plays recapping their feud.
5. NWA World Heavyweight Championship: Eddie Guerrero def. Scott Steiner [w/ Rena Mero] to retain his title in 20:07: This was a fantastic main event, and the crowds reaction and the build behind the match made it so much better than what it actually was. In a side note, Rena had a camel toe, ha. After applying the Steiner Recleiner, Eddie was able to get to not submit, and Steiner eventually broke the hold. Eddie showed some serious spirit after recovering from the Steiner Recleiner and took Steiner out with a series of nice moves. Eddie then, out of nowhere, rolled Steiner up with a very cool looking roll-up and he got the three count. Eddie quickly rolled out of the ring and celebrated with his title on the ramp as Rena and Steiner had a tantrum in the ring. Steiner screamed at Eddie afterwards that "this isn't over!!" as the PPV ends with Eddie raising the title belt up.

- Glad to see your using Estrada, always liked him. KI/Taka should be damn good. - I really liked the tag team match. Very happy that Swinger and Diamond went over. Simon Diamond has to be one of the most underrated wrestlers. - Good win for Styles to be built as a contender to the X championship. - Hayashi/Yang winning is alright. Would’ve liked to see Lenny Lane get some sort of push. - I don’t see a crazy Steiner releasing the Steiner Recliner. The finish seemed a little weak, with a rollup. - Overall, I was expecting something better from the main event. Hopefully they go at it again in some sort of stipulation match. Good show though, with a rather disappointing finish.

Solid way to kick off the show. I always enjoyed Estrada and Low Ki always has good matches. Ki/Taka should be interesting. Hopefully they have a nice long feud with Ki taking the belt off Taka. The FCA for the tag belts looked really good. More X-Division action is always good. Kinda too soon for Steiner/Eddie imo but looked really good and glad Eddie retained. Show was good but felt kinda short.

Good win for Ki, and I like Taka coming down after to show what he's got. I was expecting something like Doring & Roadkill. Wasn't a fan at all of Sabu jobbing just like that. Still really liking the Sable/Steiner pairing. Good win for AJ to get back on the board. Lenny & Lodi, nice. Really surprised Eddie won. I like how it was in fluke fashion. I have a feeling a rematch is coming, and hopefully Steiner takes the belt. Keep it up, this is one of my favorite diaries on the board.
