I made this point back in 2021 the last time this came up but Sting joining made absolutely no sense and killed his mystique (although it already was watered down before that due to the events after Starrcade).
If Sting was true to his character, he'd have rejected both NWOs and been a lone wolf (pun not intended). That would have been pretty compelling.
Or, the NWO black and white should have feuded properly with the red and black (instead of just jibes between them and occasional run-ins), and the Hollywood faction should have won in a match for the rights to the NWO name and logo. Then the Wolfpac would run with just that name as its own separate thing, with that cool red shirt and wolf on it.
THEN Sting should have joined once they shed all their affiliation with the NWO.

If this is a Mattel board, I'd have assumed OP would have limited this to guys that have had Mattel figures but will never have another, instead of naming guys who have had figures under different toy companies....

oh good! just boil the kettle mate dip it in a tall cup, bit of water won't hurt but hair dryer you can melt plastic and warp it permanently (plus! the Mrs will get mad you using her stuff) Ordinary hair dryers will not melt the plastic. They don't get hot enough. Using hair dryers is still very low risk and won't damage figures as long as you don't prolong exposure to the heat, but people usually know that already.

Berlyn. He had hype videos that seemed very outdated even by 1999. Very one-dimensional character. Initial promos were made to look like worn-out VHS footage.
Supposed to face Buff Bagwell in his first match. Instead faced Jim Duggan. And didn't wow the crowd at all.
The next few weeks he made no impact whatsoever and feuded with a perennial lower card Brad Armstrong.
Got beat up by Armstrong backstage on one episode of Nitro, stood right back up immediately after, looked Armstrong dead in the eye and backed down.
Crappy finisher. Boring wrestling skills.
The Wall was the only intriguing thing to come of it and initially it was an incredibly slow burn.
It wasn't surprised that Alex Wright was dead in the water straight after his Berlyn debut.

I couldn't see it happening. Foley was great in feuds to establish the next top stars. So it would have to be before Brock won the WWE championship.
Afterwards, there'd have been no point. It would have been a quick one and done thing, not a feud at all.
If it were to happen, Foley would have had to have been a massive threat. Which means in his prime prior to 1999 and as Cactus Jack, or sadistic Mankind to create a sense of danger.
Foley as the underdog babyface would have been a bit lacking unfortunately.

Hi Steve, just a suggestion more than a question. Could these Bret attires be considered for future PPV waves? Survivor Series 1997 (Montreal): ![](http://crazytights.ovh/pics/5/600/w05-o600-p07.jpg) Wrestlemania 13 (1997): ![](http://crazytights.ovh/pics/5/592/w05-o592-p01.jpg)

Is anyone still waiting to receive their pre-order? I’ve still got nothing and my purchase history on Mattel’s website still says “Unfulfilled”. Yep I saw other people receive theirs in the UK and they ordered literally in February and mine was still unfulfilled since I ordered Jan 8th. I emailed them and it's "getting ready to ship!". That was a week ago and since then, nothing's happened. Absolute joke.

I placed my order on 8th January. I'm in the UK for location context. I hear absolutely nothing from Mattel.
Meanwhile, other people who placed orders this month and literally last week, also from the UK have theirs shipped and received this week.
So I had to contact Mattel to see what the frick is going on. They now claim my order has been shipped just now.
Had I not checked, I have no idea what would have happened to it.

It comes under a few factors.
Basically:
- There were an abundance of other main eventers, creating strong competition and he couldn't really "hang" with them on the mic - There were doubters backstage that claimed he couldn't do it - He had asthma and couldn't do long drawn-out main event matches, favouring matches less than 9 minutes
Which is a real shame because he had the look, he had charisma (to an extent), and great in-ring work. He had moments of being decent on the mic, never 100% comfortable, but so many stars start out nervous and grow. It's like they never put 100% into Billy and set him up to fail by feuding with the Rock right off the bat. Like he was destined to get mauled on the mic.
When management really want someone to succeed, they try hard. But with BG it's like they half-assed it (pun intended) and gave up as a failed experiment just because they were forced to. I truly believe he could have been nurtured to the top if given the right help with his promos and direction.
I don't buy the "he was not main event level". Triple H in 1997 wasn't main event level but look how he developed. Edge wasn't main event level but in 2006 became so. Give him the right push, he would have flourished.

Basically IIRC, Bischoff thought masks prevent relatability and connection with the audience, and in order to become marketable stars and convey emotion to get the fans behind them, they needed to be wrestling without masks.
Then when it is pointed out that WWE marketed Rey's masks and made bank off of them, he just says hindsight is 20:20. Basically ironically confirming the notion that is abundantly obvious - that Bischoff is/was incredibly short-sighted.

Belt was never on TV and legally Mattel can't give Rock the old torso
So it's not gonna happen Huh? What? How did you come to that conclusion back in 2016?

Anything about a "Mount Rushmore" of wrestling. So bored of that question. Too right. I am so sick of seeing that topic spun in so many different ways on this forum in particular. That and "when did the attitude era start/end?". That literally comes up like once or twice a year.... It clearly wasn't a defined start-finish. It was gradual. And that means it's open to interpretation. But that doesn't mean that it should be brought up every year....

I always had it in mind that Eddie would have continued on as full time-ish until about 2007-8. Then he'd be part time until 2012. He'd been pushing himself pretty hard and he wouldn't have been able to go much longer past 42 unless he super pulled it back.
Similarly, Benoit had been pretty much going without a break since 2001-2. And that was only because of his neck injury. So he would have definitely taken a break by 2009.
I would have seen him go sporadic after that and finally hanging up his boots by 2011.
I could see him helping out a lot in NXT similar to Matt Bloom.

Did you live in this area the rock was over as hell yeah looking back now he was doing the same things each week but Bret hart also did John cena did and now Roman does don’t put the rock as some one being overrated I wrote my reasons why in the post. I did live during that era and loved him during that time. But that's irrelevant. John Cena didn't do the exact same promo every week. Neither does Roman. I'm talking from a creative standpoint - the Rock did much of the same thing week in week out and I don't see people mentioning this. But then some fans bring up other wrestlers doing something repeatedly and criticise them for it.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Rock, I was/am a big fan. He was definitely talented and could hold the crowd. But the point I'm making is through watching these shows again and seeing the same verbiage week in week out - how could that be seen as creative?
There are many instances of wrestlers saying/doing the same thing time and time again and getting criticised for sticking to the same thing. So why is this different for the Rock?

This isn't to piggyback off of the "Mick Foley - your overall thoughts" thread. This was a legitimate thought that's been growing in my mind since I've been watching Raws in 1999.
The Rock starts off as a hot heel, funny, cocky, gets an emotional reaction from the crowd. Top of his game.
Then his face turn was very well received, and he has the crowd in the palm of his hand still. But after a few months, by August or sooner, I started noticing he was either repeating a lot of what he's previously said - eg: 26/08/99 the debut of Smackdown his promo to HHH saying "You call yourself the Game? Well quite frankly, your game absolutely sucks", then on 20/09/99, he says literally the exact same promo.
Another is "do you think you impress the Rock [insert insult to particular wrestler here]".....
And then the whole sticking things up candy asses.... After a few weeks, it becomes repetitive. And bear in mind I'm saying this by 4 months into his face turn. I haven't watched his whole face schtick beyond this.
Now I have heard some criticism before, and also of his wrestling ability, but I haven't really got a gauge of what you guys think of his spiel.

I was told on here that these Vince BAF legs are the shorter kind. They don't look it from this picture. Could anyone confirm? I'm looking to make my Rick Rude taller. Its the shorter legs I was told on here that these Vince BAF legs are the shorter kind. Could anyone confirm? I'm looking to make my Rick Rude taller. Shorter than the blue jacket Vince (@ 1:25) That's ridiculous that the proto shows the taller legs. Is there any BAF out there with the taller black BAF legs, same height as IRS etc...?

I ordered mine on 8th January. Had no update yet, anxious to see how this fares with import fees/tax as I'm in the UK.
