King of the Ring = Pointless?

So on Raw Regal got fired.......so i was thinking what was the hole point of doing the king of the ring in the frist place?

I mean for one i loved regal as the GM and King it just brought somthing new to raw and now with him gone whats he going to do cos he cant still be the king on smackdown or ECW cos the angle wont work .

I just think wwe could of push this more but like so many things they have just craped all over it.

regal was suspended for violating the drug policy
thats the only reason he was "fired"
he screwed it up for himself

Now, I bet WWE is kicking themselves in the ass for having Regal win the King of the Ring. They should've had Punk win instead. They would've been better off.

well it used to be when you won the king of the ring you got a wwe title shot but in 2006 booker t had to earn his shot in a battle royal and regal didn't even get a title shot.
