In Dave Meltzer's most recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter he notes that head SmackDown writer Michael Hayes made racist comments towards Presidential hopeful Barack Obama.
According to Meltzer Hayes said, “How can we have a President that can’t read the constitution?” and “If that boy gets elected, I’m moving to Canada.” Many within WWE questioned McMahon’s skit mocking Obama after Obama agreed to do Raw, despite knowing there was a risk of backfire if the Hayes story and his comments got out that week.
Bobby Lashley spoke out against Hayes last week in an audio interview saying that he personally did not like him. Hayes is currently serving a 60-day suspension for making racist comments towards Mark Henry. According to a WWE spokesperson Hayes will have to undergo further evaluation before he returns to work.

Both democratic nominees were lampooned after they were kind enough to be on WWE tv and address the audience...I thought that in it's own right was in poor taste.

It's unbelievable that after he gets suspended, all this crapcomes out about how much of a racist this guy really was. How long has he been getting away with this?
I don't see how they can possibly bring him back given all the attention this situation has received, not to mention the fact that everyone backstage, no matter what race, probably thinks Hayes is a jerkoff.

Hayes is being lame. I wouldn't be surprised if he was also homophobic and Anti-Semitic.

I really doubt this, it smells like bullcrapfor the internet to hate Hayes more. All these statements come out now, not when he makes them?

Also, one could argue that Hayes was implying Obama was illiterate.

Im starting to feel bad for Hayes now, cause ANYTHING he says (racist or not) will be blow way outta context. He's gonna be sitting backstage and Jimmy Garvin will be like "Hey PS, you want an Oreo?" Hayes is gonna be like "No, I dont like chocolate"....Next thing you know Sharpton and Jackson will be all in WWEs craplike a thong on a fat girl!

I'm sitting here playing the world's smallest violin for everybody who continues to cry about this. GTF over it. We're talking about a guy who wore a confederate flag his entire wrestling career and is from the south and all of a sudden, it's a big f'n shock that he uses racial slurs. Today's society is so damn sensitive it makes me sick.

Apparently, you're not allowed to call a black guy "boy." Also, one could argue that Hayes was implying Obama was illiterate. One could argue that he was implying? Are you intellectually- disabled, he's basically saying he's illiterate. I can't imagine someone arguing otherwise, seriously for you sake I hope that it was just an expression and you weren't suggesting that's not waht Hayes meant. As for the "boy" comment. For ages "boy" has been a derogatory term for black men, now I'll agree that in what context Hayes was using the term is highly debatable. Hell I'll even give him the benefit of the doubt, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be conscious of what he's saying. I mean the guy's on thin ice as it is, censor yourself for God's sake. He should be aware that what he's saying could offend people. And before someone goes off about the 1st amendment, for the most part all that is null and void in a work atmosphere. This is a business and there is no excuse for this behavior, boot the guy, he's a joke.

Nothing racist in that, if he wants to move to Canada if Barack Obama becomes President, he has every right. It's like me saying, if the Soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Man United, I will stop supporting the club. If that racist? Nope. So in this case, im backing him up and he's said nothing wrong.

Actually it's not the same, if you had a history of bashing Portuguese people and players and you said something like "If Man U keeps Ronaldo I'm not following them" then it would be similar. It's not the comments alone, it's the history to the person who's saying them.
