I'm pretty sure that a while ago, it was reported that the King Of The Ring tournement was being used as a way to give someone a 'royal' gimmick (like the King Booker fiasco).

Thats why Regal won it, its just going to further his blue-blooded character, i mean, who else were they going to give the royal gimmick to? CM Punk?

well why not?
They could call him CM Royàle, and he could carry a big novelty safe around instead of a suitcase and declare to the audience that he is, indeed, better than they are, due only, to his royalness. They could cut promos of him in an arabian palace, where he relaxes and toasts his feet by the fire.
