Marvel Essentials... theres Avengers and Captain America. Spider-Man and X-Men are pretty good but don't feature those charaters.

Personally I prefer to spring for the Masterworks. Extra money but you get them in full colour and on glossy paper.

I already have Spidey 1-3, Uncanny X-Men 1 and teh first 2 X-Men Essentials. All were great. What other Essentials are there for X-Men other than teh ones I listed?

Have you checked out www.marvel.com ? Cool little way to promote the event.

I can't wait till next week, I'll have the first issue on hand (Well I'll have it on Sat) but need to study. DAMN YOU SCHOOL!

I got House of M #1 today. Niot much to it really, as it's all setup. The final page would have been really cool if solicits hadn't mentioned how Pete's life was different in House of M.

Daredevil is coming to the end of Bendis run... its not a good jumping on point! Its good but only if you go back and read the TPB.

New Avengers is on #5 and you should be able to get the back issues. Its a great comic and a great jumping on point... shame its delayed all the time. The second arc should be on time though.

I just starting picking up Cable & Deadpool with issue #15 and it's already one of my favorite comics. Within a week I had hunted down 13 & 14 abd bought the first two trades. And I don't even like Cable! It speaks very highly of a abook thatcan get me to like a character I always hated.

Just won Cable & Deadpool #1-12 for £16.50 posted.

Not a bad price at all seeing as most comic stores would charge £3 each.

Just need 13 and 14 now to have the whole series!

well, THIS Spider-fan just rolled his eyes. AGAIN with the Gwen Stacy shit. Fer 's sake...let it go. It seems EVERY writer has to do some stupid crap with Gwen Stacy except dig up her corpse and fondle it. I mean, she was an interesting character in Peter's life, but that "what-if" novelty wore off a long time ago. REALLY want to shock fans? Make it Betty Brant. NOBODY gives her second thoughts anymore.

This is just another Bendis stunt fest where he "changes the Marvel Universe FOREVER!" yet again and if it's anything like Disassembled, it'll only leave a bunch of pissed of fans dissing the "new 90's" storylines and wondering if foiled-eteched, hologram, chromium-embossed, die cut, card enclosed variant covers are just around the corner.

Yes, I'm a jaded fandoy. Doesnt mean I wont read it, if only to bitch about it. ;D

The DC Crisis stuff is much better. I like that they're making the villains evil again and not just lame. And the JLA stuff is gonna be real interesting. They alway give Batman crapfor being so paranoid and secretive, and now we know why. If your teammated will do that to you, WHO do you trust then?

I feel really sorry for MJ... every chance a writer gets they bring up how Peter loves Gwen more then her. I still look at it as Gwen was his first love, MJ is his true love.

Maybe... he was never going to tell Gwen he was Spider-Man though. Even when he wanted to marry her he was going to hide that fact.
Then again he never actually told MJ either, she already knew.

I managed to track down the last two issues of Cable and Deadpool I needed so I have the full run when they arrive in the post.

BTW does anyone read the Star Wars comics? I want to try and get into them but their are so many and I don't know if you need to know all the history too get into them

Hey.

I just finished reading Batman: Dark Knight Dark City 3 part series. I must say it was a very good story. The Riddler being one of my favorite villians, sure added flavor to it.

I also enjoyed the history repeating itself theme. Also Riddler using his riddles to make batman become prepared. The whole writing of it was genius.

Anyone else like this story?

I read the first arc of Jones on Hulk and I liked it, the Nuff Said issue was great.

Anyone have a quick recap of what is happening on New Avengers? I recently decided to get a subscription after seeing the new additions to the team and reading nothing but great reviews. Problem is I won't get it until issue 8 or so and have no clue what is going on.

I suggest picking up the TPB that comes out in a month or two.

Electro is hired to break someone out of the Raft, a superhero prision. A huge jail break is started as Electro gets the guy out and Spider-Man, Captain America, Daredevil, Spider-Woman, Iron Man and Luke Cage all end up on the Raft trying to keep as many criminals as they can in the jail. The get help from The Sentry who has asked to be locked up in the jail for some reason but 42 criminals escape. Captain America decides the world needs an Avengers team and sets about putting a team together. Everyone who was there, apart from Sentry who is still in jail but they are trying to get released and Daredevil agree and Iron Man shows them his new skyscrapped and the top of it can only be got to by Avengers (Spider-Man ends up moving into it in his own book). They go after Electro and he says he broke out Sauron. So they go to the Savage Land and run into Wolverine who is also looking for Sauron. Their caught by Sauron but manage to break out and just as Wolverine and Sauron go to fight Sauron is shot in the head. The Black Widow 2 and SHIELD Troops apear and say they've been instructed to leave no witnesses, including The New Avengers.

So thats what happened up too #5.

The full team should be put together by #11 or something apparantly.
