I was able to catch an early advanced screening of The Bucket List tonight, and I must say, I really, really, liked it. Easily surprised me, as I didn't think much of it, I figured it would be just another something like The Holiday, except with better acting performances. I was quite wrong on this one, and I plan on seeing it again, this time dragging a couple friends with me.
It's about two terminally ill cancer patients, who make a list of things they want to accomplish before they die. They're both given around a year or less at most to live. So they get out of the ward, and attempt to accomplish these things on their list. But it isn't simply about them doing all these things. They bond even more over the ordeal, and as if seeing the amazing performances by Nicholson and Freeman aren't enough, they have an absolutely fantastic chemistry together on screen, which only adds to how their friendship grows over the course of the film. The directing was well done as well, with some good shots, Reiner really captured the best of his cast, and the dialog was near perfect. My only gripe is with the ending, which isn't really bad, but I would have liked to see something else, but it doesn't really affect the film as a whole. This may not be the movie for everyone, but I know I sure enjoyed it, and know that there are some who definitely would too.
9/10

I found it really lame. It was so short that I wasn't able to feel a connection to the characters, so I didn't care if they lived or died. The ending was so rushed, and the dialogue was cheesy. But the acting was good of course.

I am going to check it out this week along with "The Diving Bell and The Butterfly" - I'm sure it will be alright because of whose in it, but I'm not expecting much.

My only gripe was the ending. I loved the chemistry between the main characters, and felt they were developed plenty for what the film was about. Considering who the actors are, the devlopment seemed to go by very well.

I'll throw this in: Morgan Freeman was absolute GOLD in the racing/car scene

It was a good movie, I liked it, it was sad at the end and all that, I dunno why people are bitching about it, I mean what did they expect from it? The Odd Couple 2? Matthau and Lemon?
Give it a break and just enjoy it for what it is, 85 minutes of fun
