I just saw it and have no idea what the hell I just witnessed. I checked IMDB and got tired of reading about how good it was at Sundance and all the plot twists.

Did anyone else see this movie? If so, could you explain to me what happened? What did I miss?

It is not necessary to believe in God to be a good person. In a way, the traditional notion of God is outdated. One can be spiritual but not religious. Some of the best people in history did not believe in God, while some of the worst deeds were done in his name.

I don't know if I just missed the whole plot or if the movie was just THAT bad.
