I saw Sweeney Todd last night...and frankly I thought it was amazing.. I've never watched the original, but I LOVED this one. I won't get into the story, but it is AMAZING. Well actually I will post some spoilers..it's in white..Highlight if you dare. SPOILERS!!!
The crazy women turns out to be Sweeney Todd's wife. He ends up killing her, and then gets killed by the child.
For those who don't want to read the spoilers...pay attention to the old crazy women..she turns out to be fairly important. So, I'm glad I saw it. My friend even bought me a t-shirt as a birthday present...I think Depp did an amazing job portraying Sweeney and the fact that it's a musical should not stop you from seeing it. I almost let it stop me and I'm glad I didn't...it's AMAZING. So has anyone else seen it?

I seen it last night with my girlfriend and I found it to be interesting. Pretty well done movie with some good acting. Plus my name is in the movie title (Todd) so that always helps I suppose

I loved it. I was on the rocks about seeing it when I heard it was a musical then I saw the trailer and thought it looked kick ass. Was really good... tons of blood and singing combined

I want to go see it ASAP. Johnny Depp is without a doubt my favorite actor. Just how he brings characters to life it amazes me. Usually actors are type cast after doing a movie where they play an eccentric character but Johnny is so talented that it doesn't happen to him. He played Edward Scissorhands, Jack Sparrow, Gilbert Grape, etc so convincingly but when he is doing an interview I just see Johnny Depp. Unlike actors like Mike Myers where if I see him doing an interview I can't help but see Austin Powers. I think Susan Sarandon said it best, "Johnny could have just been another pretty-boy actor but he chose to character actor, and I really admire him for it"...
Anyways it looks like a really interesting movie. Can't wait to see it.

It didn't even come here, which is really odd due to it having Johnny Depp.

Just got back, it wasn't for me. I forgot how much I hated musicals, even though the song's weren't bad. Depp can sing, but Bonham Carter made him sound look crap by comparison. The sets whether they be real or computer generated were stunning, some awesome camera techniques used here. Sacha Baron Cohen was the best part, but he's only in it for 10 minutes. He can really belt out a tune, too. It got interesting when Sweeney started his killing rampage, but then it became overkill, pun intended. I liked the ending, nice and sudden. I don't know if I'd reccomend this, it's an incredibly well made film and a milestone for Burton, but I can only handle so much singing. I'd reccomend it if it weren't a musical.

Eh', I'm not really for musicals. I'm also getting tired of this whole Time Burton/Johnny Depp combination.

Not a huge fan of Johnny Depp or musicals, but something about this seems intriguing to me.
