Arrested Development...the movie?Writer: Sean Gandert It's too early to say anything definitively at this point, but there have been a lot of recent comments cropping up by the ex-cast and crew of Arrested Development about a possible big-screen reunion. Rumors about this have been around for months, but the news now seems more concrete than just the hopeful thoughts of fans. Journalists have been asking Jason Bateman and Michael Cera about the possibility of this happening while the two actors made their press rounds on Juno. According to Reelz Channel, Bateman says a movies is "certainly on the table," a quote that comes with certain authority considering he had met with series creator Mitchell Hurwitz the previous weekend. Cera likewise said that he'd be interested in a new AD project. Keith Olbermann also passed along info that Hurwitz told him the film is "something [they’re] very interested in doing, but only after the writers’ strike, and only if the powers that be approve." This is especially promising because ultimately it was Hurwitz who shut the show down after Showtime offered to continue it. Two other canceled Fox programs, Firefly and Futurama, made the jump to features, so this seems like more than just idle speculation. Now we have even one more reason to hope the writer's strike ends soon. Thanks to SpoutBlog for the heads-up on this. www.pastemagazine.com/action/article/6067/news/film/arrested_developmentthe_movie
Sounds good to me.

I don't see this movie doing well in the theaters. The ratings were so low for it being on free TV, how can you convince people to go pay to see it?
Besides, as much as I really, really loved this show, I think it was tied up nicely on TV and should rest in peace.

I was able to finish watching seasons 1 and 2 before Season 3 began, but I still feel guilty about having never seen the show when during the first two seasons.

Honestly, you shouldn't feel bad for not knowing about the show, much like TNN and ECW, Fox never advertised the show.

Sadly, I didn't start watching until the middle of season two. I never knew about it until a friend of mine mentioned how great it is.......and he was ing right. A movie would kick 100 different kinds of ass.

Some of the best comedies EVER have done horribly at the box office.
Case in point, Office Space tanked, but became a cult classic on video.
Kids in the Hall Brain Candy also did really poorly.
I would love to see a movie made of this great show, maybe it will conclude the series that ended way too abruptly.

Not only that but I recall they moved around a few times without even advertising that. That was more of a problem than them not advertising it. Fox ran ad's for it like crazy for the first 3 weeks of the first season, but when people did not tune in they stopping pushing the show and bounced it around until it won the Emmy for Best Comedy series. Anyway, I would mark out like a little girl if they made it to the big screen. That whole opening weekend would be spent at the theaters watching it over and over.

Well you'd obviously have to in order to pick up on everything.

In a Juno interview I saw, the interviewer brought up a possible AD movie and Jason Bateman pointed to Michael Cera and said "who knows if we can even afford white hot over here?" Classic.
