So tonight I found out that the Foo Fighters would be playing a show that is somewhat close to me. I have been wanting to see them live for years and years now so going should not be a problem right?
Wrong, the show is the day before the Royal Rumble, which I had been planning on going to for the past couple months.
What I'm trying to find out is if the Foo Fighters put on a good show, or if they are horrible live.
If you have seen them please help a brother out.

Foo Fighters seem pretty amazing live.
Go on Youtube and watch their performance at Live Earth back in July and you will see what i mean

Why can't you go to both shows?

The Rumble is in NYC, the Foo Fighters show is in Nashville, TN.

I'd say hit up both. I drove about 12 or 13 hours to see the Foo Fighters a couple months ago and it was definitely worth it. You might be tired as hell at the Rumble, but it is the Rumble. How far is the distance between the two venues?

Sell the Rumble tickets. You can always get the DVD of it when it comes out. Seeing the Foo Fighters would be cheaper in the long run, and I think you'd probably have more fun.

At this particular point in time, I'd choose seeing the Foo Fighters without hesitation. They're at the top of my list of bands to see, I've heard they put on absolutely amazing shows, and seeing Dave Grohl in and of itself would be incredible.

How good are your RR seats?

I don't have them yet, but I think that I will stick with going to the Rumble.
The biggest reason is that all the General Admission tickets are sold out for the Foo show, and If I'm going to see a band that I really love then I want to be in the Gen Admission area.
Plus I would be willing to bet that they spend the better part of next year on tour, and the might even come a little bit closer than Nashville.

I wouldn't go out of my way to see the Foo Fighters unless Dave Grohl goes back to playing drums. He was a monster.

Same repetitive lyrics and lack of solos live too Really? Have you seen them live? Dave loves some Stacked Actors solos. I don't care if some of the lyrics repeat, many of them are brilliant. Yeah, it's definitely not the same if you don't have Gen Admission though, I've seen them both ways and seats didn't even compare to the Gen Ad.

No, Grohl is repetitive....alot Getting the best....the best...the best...the best...the best....it don't stop No what else doesn't stop, Rob Zombie and Ozzy Osbourne. But also you talking about how metal you are and how unheavy every band you don't like is. You're more repetitive than anyone.
